Underperformer of the Season – the nominees
Claudio Fannieri replied to MC Prussian's topic in Leicester City Forum
In no particular order for me but Winks, Mavididi and Ayew all 3 could and should be smashing this league and all 3 have basically downed tools in one way or another -
We really need 12 points from those 6 games
-
Decent result would have taken that before kick off but that 2nd half we literally just sat back and let it become defence vs attack. The lack of ambition to try and take games by the scruff of the neck, kill it off and win games could be what relegates us, criminal that we are unable to close games out at this level. Mentality is absolutely honking.
-
Really not sure what we gained from sacking Marti, back to square one with same old mob starting, thoroughly underwhelming.
-
Honking line up, full of the usual suspects how the hell does Bobby Reid start ahead of Mukasa and no Monga or Page on the bench, horrible horrible selection Gary 0-2 away win incoming 😂😂

I am 52 years old, for 47 years Leicester City has been a fundamental part of my life, there have been the highest of highs and some real low points, I love Leicester City Football Club, I hate it has been allowed to become a vehicle to promote King Power. slowly but surely Leicester City is losing its identity, it feels like a franchise now, KPFC who wear blue and play in Leicester but the history of the club and character of the club is vanishing, very little reference is made to anyone or anything that pre dates the KP era. The soul of the club is slowly eroding away and being replaced with customers who accept and enable a hierarchy to make more and more ill informed decisions that not only creates a further divide with its fanbase but also has taken the club to the brink of league 1, financial meltdown and possible administration. it is absolutely soul destroying 🥲

Nail on head pal 👏🏼 look at last week so many posts on social media defending the ownership and condemning the protests. At what stage do these people wake up and realise what is happening. This isn’t just a relegation to league 1 that will be a jolly for 12 months, our club is on life support at the moment and a relegation means that machine will be switched off. Admin and possible liquidation is not out of the question, not withstanding the countless hard working people who will lose their jobs and the damage it will do to the local economy in general. The club is saddled with debt and massive costs anyone who cannot understand that losing the best part of £200m over 3 years in any business environment is going to end up in deep financial 💩 if you cannot recognise this then you are delusional.

Ashley runs a very tight ship, at times it might be very frustrating and perception that we aren’t investing sufficiently in the playing squad, but rest assured we would not be in the position we find ourselves in now.
-
Should just leave well alone, the current set up is just about right, this change further weakens the quality of the play offs and you run the risk of a team finishing a mile off and being closer to relegation than promotion having a decent run of form in a short form tournament and ending up promoted. All in all it just weakens the overall integrity of the competition and the quality of the premier league as you could end up with some right old muck getting promoted.

Given his contract renewed after 1 season it’s likely that the book value left will have been reamortised over the remaining 3 seasons of the newly extended contract. By my rough calcs £10m / 3 would be £3.33m of amortisation each year so after year one £6.67m would be left, he signs new 1 year extension so that is reamortised over 3 seasons which leaves just over £2.22m per season.
-
The only saving grace is his book value will be about £2.5m in the summer so just got to hope somebody sees it as a relatively risk free transfer and we can cover his book value and get his wages off the books.

Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 -
That is a fair point, as a Business Transformation consultant I have reached out to the club to offer help and support as I see a number of potential opportunities to not only improve the performance of the club off the pitch but also to help raise additional revenue steams and improve the relationship with the fanbase. So I do understand how the emotional pull of working with your hometown club even in difficult and challenging times has a big emotional pull.
-
I completely understand what you are saying which is why I used the words some level of accountability, I am not saying he is directly to blame, but if you are so opposed to what is happening at some point professional pride and your own self respect would lead you to move on, particularly as a well qualified professional.

Plus keeping the appointments in house potentially keeps a lid on just how bad things are. Let’s be honest a new CEO may drive a bus through certain decisions, ways of working and question things like the sponsorship deals, the draw down facilities with Macquarie bank against future earnings, the wages and contracts to players, the level of outstanding liabilities and debt etc. Much better off for all involved to maintain the status quo and keep everything under wraps.

QPR Saturday 14th March 3pm (H) Protest - Unite for change
Claudio Fannieri replied to 1884HF's topic in Leicester City Forum
KPFC and the Self Preservation Society. This is what needs highlighting, this is a sporting equivalent of Starmer, continually making choices, decisions and appointments based around staying in power and control rather than bringing in people who have fresh new ideas and will challenge the current ways of working. -
Have to agree here surely if you have been part of the finance team at the club for the past 15 years which has also included a decent length of time in charge of it, then you must carry some level of accountability for what has been allowed to happen. Yes credit maybe due for the work that has been done to clear up the mess and perhaps the promotion is recognition for that and reward for helping Rudkin and Aiyawatt clear up a collective mess. All it says to me is jobs for the boys and very much keeps any new fresh ideas or outside challenge out the building. It’s the KPFC self preservation society. We will see little difference in how we operate. Even the new commercial director has a strong record in growing Asian markets and partnerships so expect to see more obscure partnerships such as FBS, BC Game, K Bet and 8Win

8Win Partnership Malaysia

Where is the innovative thinking, is this what the new wave will bring, more of the same, partnerships with obscure overseas gambling and crypto companies. -
Or it was always going to be this and Aiyawatt wanted to surround himself with people who just nod and say yes but wanted to make it look like a full blown process. I actually think Davies and Rudkin have been in post since Whelan left and it’s been more about waiting for McCarron and the Commercial Director to start before making the full announcement. I have read Rudkin’s statement and I am 99% certain that has come out of ChatGPT and as for Aiyawatt saying Jon is the perfect person for our the next stage of growth for the club as we sit in our lowest position for years is frankly ridiculous and yet again ill advised.
-
If Kevin Davies was the stand out candidate why not appoint him the moment Susan Whelan left, instead Aiyawatt moved into the Interim CEO role. Just feels like these appointments will reaffirm his control and he can carry on regardless. Nothing changes if nothing changes and let’s be honest the three most senior roles in this reshuffle Chief Football Officer, CEO and MD are all current employees and very close to the current ownership.
-
To us outsiders certainly looks like Top has promoted 2 from within to be his trusted aides, plus his mate Monika and then the 2 newbies appointed to deflect the criticism have come in as the next layer of management. Looks to me to be cosmetic changes and actually reaffirms the status quo, I fully expect to see little or no change in how we operate on or off the pitch. Think we will double down on the tippy tappy football and more of the same sponsorships and partnerships with obscure gambling and crypto companies.

A very quick bit of online research on 8win says all we need to know, online gambling company registered in Costa Rica to a random operating company, no or very limited financial reporting, set up in 2013 and has raised $10m in 2 rounds of funding but no reported revenues. BC Game mk 2 ……. -
