QPR 4-1 LCFC, post-match thread
Claudio Fannieri replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Not far off a year ago we played QPR and battered them 6-2 today we have just been dicked 4-1 …… that is some fecking drop off make no mistake this squad is miles away from what we have had over the last 10 years but today’s result and performance is an absolute disgrace and the manager cannot survive that. Has to go. -
James, Nelson, Page, Fatawu, Stolarcyrk, Skipp, Evans, Aluko, Riccy and Kingy for me
-
According to my mate at the game he fecked off down the tunnel at full time without acknowledging the travelling support, he also said it was pretty toxic.

QPR 4-1 LCFC, post-match thread
Claudio Fannieri replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
There has been some very bad days at the office this season already, PNE, Blackburn, Southampton, Sheffield United and now QPR that is over 20% of our games played in the 2nd tier which is bang average to say the least. Completely unacceptable and we have to make a change, we are in 13th position, lost 7 games and conceded 31 goals and this is all before a potential points deduction. That performance and result off the back of this weeks shambolic news has just about tipped me over the edge. I love this club but I am done with the majority of this group, owner, DoF, manager and players. They are a disgrace to our club and shitting all over the badge and supporters. -
You just know we will score another one right at the death to paper over the cracks and make it look way more respectable than it ever was
-
That half of football coming so close to the 1st half capitulations to Saints and Sheff United makes his position pretty much untenable can’t see him surviving this
-
What a perfect result for the board to be able to deflect away from the absolute shit show off the pitch this week. Good old Marti throws in a 1st half like this, another disaster class and Top and Co have perfect opportunity to sack him and divert attention and focus.
-
I would not be surprised in the slightest if we are being primed for a sale KP/Top can ill afford to keep bailing out a club losing millions every season. I think they will cut their losses if they can get £100m and walk away from a club that is haemorrhaging money then they may feel it’s time to cut their loses and walk away.
-
Congratulations to Cov who have won the championship title or so it seemed after the slightly over the top reaction to a 1-1 away draw in December 😂
-
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the large swathes of empty seats from the last few home games and the associated drop in revenue from general sale tickets and from food, drink and merch sales are offered up as a contributing factor.
-
As I understand it, the early December payment has been in place for at least a decade, there is no way they don’t realise the ramifications of this decision.
-
Whilst I don’t agree with everything Graham says, what I will say is his opinions are always very well articulated, I appreciate he does rattle a good few of us with his clown emojis but all in all he is a Leicester fan who cares deeply for the club and due to his experiences and interactions with the club has a different opinion to many.

QPR Away Pre-match 20th Dec 3 PM
Claudio Fannieri replied to Trav Le Bleu's topic in Leicester City Forum
Given the news this week, I actually don’t give a flying feck that we are playing today, this has nothing to do with Marti or the players who in fairness in the last 3 games turned a bit of a corner and starting to show what we all wanted to see, but yet again the powers at be seem to have this wonderful knack of constantly finding new ways to alienate themselves from the fanbase and generate negativity and gloom. I love Leicester City Football Club, always have always will but this current version is so difficult to get behind. Never felt so flat, disappointed and embarrassed to be a fan than i do this week. Well done to the owner and decision makers 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼- 64 replies

The more I think about this the more it just does not add up. If it’s a cash flow problem would we be really entertaining signing Antonio as this could be a further financial commitment of say £40k per month, I also don’t buy the payroll admin cock up excuse or aligning with King Power payroll. I truly believe this has been a conscious decision taken, including the late notification, and makes me more suspicious that as part of “Monika’s” role there is/will be a very significant restructuring of the clubs off field organisation which include a downsizing. What perfect way to start that process than piss off the majority of the staff by not honouring early payment of December salary and giving people only 7 hours notice, nothing screams you are completely unappreciated and undervalued more than being treated in this manner at Christmas time. Sadly I think this was a cold, calculated decision taken in advance of implementing some fairly significant cost cutting plans in the new year. It is absolutely boiling my piss how the club has treated the non playing employees, I am disgusted and ashamed.
-
It may not be but I actually think most of the reactions and posts are aimed at the terrible treatment of the staff and the impact this may have on their and their families Christmas.
-
I think most peoples reaction is to the poss poor communication or lack of it to the impacted employees until the very last minute. Likewise the company you work for has shown an equally bad attitude and lack of appreciation and respect to its staff. it’s an absolute dogshit way to conduct business and manage your employees.
-
Absolutely, couldn’t agree more, the optics of this is appalling like you say had this be done with 12 months notice or even 6 or 3 months notice it would have at least given people time to plan accordingly. Less than 24 hours is abhorrent I really cannot express how disappointed I am that the decision makers at the club have thought this is a fair and reasonable way to treat its staff.
-
The thought did cross my mind. Very sad state of affairs. The way this has been handled is absolutely terrible and I imagine the atmosphere around the club since the email will have become pretty low and demoralising.
-
The timing and how this has been handled will no doubt leave a very bitter taste for all employees involved, even if they are able to cope financially. The message this sends to the non football employees is one that you are not important and certainly don’t matter enough to at least be treated with a modicum of respect and given fair and reasonable notification of such a change. There will no doubt be now a lot of disgruntled people working at the club now potentially looking at alternative employment in the new year. I would not be surprised in the slightest to hear in the next few months the club will be restructuring its non football operations and there be a number of people made redundant and people who leave over the coming months not replaced.

It’s an absolutely beauty of a kit and one of my all time favourites, all I would say is the sizes are a bit on the small side, which if I remember correctly was the same with the kit when originally produced. My advice would be to buy a size up. Love the shade of blue as well, it’s looks brighter than our more recent kits. This is a proper banger of a kit. Even my lad who rarely makes any positive comment regarding any of my attire thinks this is a cracking shirt.

Just to put this into perspective this is non playing staff, not the players who earn 10k + a week this is the staff who live off normal wages, who possibly live hand to mouth, who have to budget and they have been given a days notice there pay will be delayed by 12 days ……at the most expensive time of the year. anyone defending this or trying to justify it, please take a step back take off the blue tinted glasses and recognise this is absolutely wrong and terrible and if this was another club we would be rightly condemning them. Make no mistake this is the biggest sign yet that we are in big big trouble and not because of PSR this is potentially a major cash flow problem. Good honest people have been stitched up and possibly as a result will have a very difficult and stressful Christmas, we are meant to be a family club, this is completely unacceptable.

The Enzo system enabled Winks to control the pace of the game, he continually received the ball from the keeper, defenders and was always available to for the pass back to then start the switch from right to left or vice versa. He probably touched the ball 75-100 times a game in Enzo’s system, largely playing 5-10 yard passes barely breaking lines but alongside Vestergaard the two were integral to us retaining possession and drawing out teams who set up in a low block. As soon as Enzo left and we changed to anything that was higher intensity and looked to move the ball forward more efficiently then he largely becomes ineffective and his weakness are more exposed, even in the Enzo system he lacked physicality and athleticism, this was targeted more and more in the 2nd half of the season when teams would press him more and also hit us on the counter, he was a poor defensive shield, this has been magnified even more since Enzo left and this season given his clear lack of commitment has exposed his weaknesses even more this season. The energy and intensity shown by Skipp and James whilst also showing they can play with intensity and move the ball effectively and efficiently, shows Winks for what he is, a largely ineffective defensive midfielder who’s main attribute is the ability to recieve the ball from the keeper and defenders in tight positions and play little 5 and ten yard bump passes and the occasional ball that breaks the first line of the press. Besides that he offers little more to us at this stage as he has clearly checked out.

I have said this and will continue to say this, I believe as soon as the transfer window closed whichever high earning players were still here had to be reintegrated and utilised. Pre transfer window closing we won 3 out of 4 even though it looked a bit chaotic behind the scenes, as soon as the window closed and certain players (mainly Winks and Faes) became more involved you could see a change in tactical set up, our play slowed down, less utilisation of academy players and surprise surprise a massive drop off in results. In the aftermath of Sheffield United it would appear that there has been a bit of clear the air and since then we have seen a team and match day squad closer to the direction of travel Marti wants to take us, we are playing a lot higher intensity and the group seem like there is a real togetherness. Once Okoli and Monga are back fit I think they replace Faes and possibly Carranza/Daka places on the bench, plus with Ramsay to come back as well. The change in the last week has been quite startling and just shows how 1 or 2 players can disrupt the whole atmosphere and detail a season.
-
He is a very good keeper who has still a lot of development and learning ahead, he will make mistakes and unfortunately as a keeper that usually leads to a goal, however he has made a number of very important saves this season and therefore deserves our support when he does make the odd error. Hermansen made a few mistakes that led to goals in the Enzo season. We will see our keepers make these mistakes every so often when we insist on playing out from the back so often.
-
This week has shown just how much this group of players are behind Marti, the reaction from 2 weeks ago has been superb and the togetherness is there for all to see. Whatever went on at half time vs Sheffield United has seemed to galvanise the squad and backroom staff and Marti seems to have stamped his authority on the club and gained a whole new level of respect amongst the group. This could be a defining moment for him and the club moving forward.
