Please tell me this is a joke, if true this is just another absolute piss take and yet another middle finger up to the fanbase from the powers at be. Read the room FFS, we are in a mess and genuine relegation battle, we need to be wheeling and dealing and desperately needed to hit the ground running in this transfer window from the off, if our DoF is away topping up his tan then it just confirms the club is an absolute joke and we are done whilst these chancers continue to take the piss.

QPR (H) - FA Cup 3rd Round (11th Jan, 2pm)
Claudio Fannieri replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
Stolrcyrk Choudhury Faes Okoli Thomas Cartwright Skipp Alves Facundo BDCR Daka subs Iversen Joseph Wilson-Brown Godsmark-Ford Golding Ewing Briggs Monga Evans Go for a mix of first squad members and a smattering of academy prospects in the starting XI and then fill the bench with academy players. More than enough to win that game and shows the academy players there is a genuine pathway to the 1st team and hopefully we see one or two really step up and help plug some obvious gaps that we may not be able to fill via the transfer market. -
Villa away (Post match) 2-1 loss

Would much rather see Rudkin out posters handed out or stuck on bog walls for sharing on social media. Just out of interest were there any audible shouts of Rudkin out yesterday? -
I completely understand the frustrations but with Ricardo injured I am not sure what other options he has available to him other than Hamza who is a utility player not good enough to be a championship regular starter, or promote an academy prospect who may not be ready and risk ruining them before there career has barely stated. This is down to our poor recruitment.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Claudio Fannieri replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
If we fail to recruit players in this window to the level he had expected or been led to believe when he joined then he absolutely think he will walk away, and whilst it may tarnish his reputation, you have to ask yourself that would be the last 3 permanent managers who will all have called out the board for not fully briefing the manager regards recruitment plans and the reality of the finances ……..there is a common denominator in all of this and it ain’t Brendan, Enzo or Ruud. If this does happen not sure this ownership and board have any credibility left and I would be shocked if any respectable manager would risk his reputation by working for a club who consistently fail to advise their managers of the true financial situation. Absolutely criminal. -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Claudio Fannieri replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Completely agree and is it the managers fault that he has players still in the squad that were deemed not good enough 2 years ago and couldn’t get much game time in the championship, surely those players should have been moved on. FWIW not sure what Ruud could have done differently, Mads injury was a massive body blow, Stolrcyrk had just come back from a lengthy injury lay off and looked like he was still far from 100% in both games against Liverpool and Man City, so he was left with Danny Ward who had least had game time this season in the Carabao Cup and for Wales in international football, whilst Iversen has barely had a kick or save since pre season, his options were dog muck whichever way he went, I imagine his decision to select Ward for the Wolves games was based around not wanting to risk Jakub getting injured long term. it’s not his fault that after Jakub our other keeper choices are a Welsh international goalkeeper who is allergic to saving a football and a back up Danish keeper who checked out last season and has been at the club for the last god knows how many years and despite us playing out from the back since he pretty much joined, his ability with his feet is absolutely horrific. Those issues are on the club. -
Wonder if we could include Okoli in a deal especially if he is looking to go back to Italy. Let’s say the are prepared to offer our money back so nil PSR impact and in return we pay a slightly higher fee so say £20m instead of £15m but over 4/5 year amortisation it’s literally £1m per season. Could be a win win for both parties.
-
I met him before the Preston friendly and he was superb with both my lad and me, you can’t begrudge any of our players moving to what are deemed elite clubs and let’s be honest we got a great fee for a player who was always likely to suffer with injuries after the horrific injury he received against Villarreal.

Last couple of posts have nailed it for me, our recruitment has been largely influenced by Manager inputs which mean we have ended up with a patchwork quilt of a squad, with players signed by Pearson, Ranieri, Puel, Rodgers, Maresca and now Cooper, all with different views on profile of players and different styles, we need to make a decision as a club as to how we want to play and then ensure that the club recruits managers and players to play that specific style, that way we maintain a level of consistency and it gives us a chance to recruit in a sustainable manner. Binning players off after 6 months for a club like us given PSR is an absolute no no we cannot afford to operate such a scattergun recruitment policy for managers or players, it’s too costly a mistake to make.
-
We could sign him for the same fee they paid and put him on a 5 year contract and it would only cost us £6m per season from a PSR perspective, whilst ensuring Chelsea at least balance his their PSR position.

Players Contracts, Salaries and Expiry dates
Claudio Fannieri replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeah but it’s PSR’s fault we are no longer competitive, the rules are crap but bloody hell we have made some hellishly poor decisions along the way as well. -
Absolutely spot on, every one of our main centre backs are ideal back up options or be good playing alongside a top quality partner but as a group currently the sum of the parts of whoever we use are not good enough for this level. I would really like to see us move on 2/3 over the next couple of transfer windows and refresh our options and bring in players to complement and play alongside Ben Nelson.
-
Wonder if we sign him for a fee but Man United have buy back option wouldn’t be shocked if we do same with Collyer, buy both for £5-10m each and buy back option for us to double our money and United don’t lose face if they both kick on as they can buy them back at a pre agreed price. Would help United with PSR as £10m could effectively unlock £50m for them to spend on a player on a 5 year deal
-
It makes you wonder who pushed to sign him, was it a club driven signing or was it someone Cooper had on his radar from his time at Forest, given he lacks technical ability you would have to question if he was ever on the clubs radar whilst Enzo was around. As others have said it just confirms how disconnected the club is in regards to its football operations.
-
As respected as John Percy is, he can only report on what he has been briefed by the club and his sources. I wouldn’t be shocked based on past history if we were briefing in the summer we should be ok to try and minimise fan discontent, maximise season ticket sales and self preservation for Rudders, Whelan and Top, only to then significantly breach the rule when our accounts are submitted with the 3 of them looking vacantly on wondering how this could have happened whilst hoping Nick DiMarco pulls off another master stroke
-
Thats my thoughts, I wonder if we will cash in, and as you say use the funds or part of the funds to help clear any PSR issues and also finance our January business. If we clear £50m we could use £25m+ for PSR and clearing his remaining book value and the remainder would allow us to spend anywhere around £80-100m if required.
-
Would be an excellent signing for us
-
Another hanger on who has not been a regular starter but yet is still at the club and 3 seasons ago was shipped out to the Championship on loan, barely started a game last season and yet is still here on £60k a week, another one who illustrates the gross mismanagement of recent years, and ask yourself this do we really need to pay him that level of wage to keep a bench warmer here and happy, our PSR issues are of our own doing, nothing to do with trying to disrupt the big 6 this is stockpiling horse muck on big wages and long contracts. But nothing to see here hey Rudders and Top 😩

Tom Cannon - signed for Sheffield United
Claudio Fannieri replied to moore_94's topic in Transfer Talk
His book value will be around £5m so reckon we would want at least double so it brings in a decent whack of PSR profit. £5m in profit would enable us to spend up to £20-25m on a player on a 4/5 year contract. -
It’s being reported that Spurs are lining up a £37m bid for Facundo so there is a good chance he will go back if they receive an acceptable offer.
-
No way we will be to plug all the gaps but in my opinion we need the following RB LB CB RW ST defintley think Alves needs to be more involved to potentially challenge/cover both Stephy and Facu. I would like to see more academy prospects the opportunity to provide cover from the bench and start to get minutes we have to develop our own talent if we can create a genuine pathway this could be massive in resolving our PSR issues as this not only saves big financial outlay but also is a win win when and if the big clubs coming sniffing as pure profit. We need to be clever so it may have to be players who are versatile so offer flexibility and can play in a couple of positions to help provide cover for positions where we are weak or lack depth.
-
That is the first mistake that has led to a goal I remember him making and bearing in mind he has just come back from a long term injury and been thrown in the deep end I think we can all give him the benefit of the doubt. This lad is going to the top but like all keepers he will make mistakes that cost goals, even Mads made errors last season, don’t compare with Ward he makes them every game.

Man City post match thread - 0-2 loss
Claudio Fannieri replied to jim5000's topic in Leicester City Forum
I get what you are saying but he is too rash, gets far too attracted to the ball and caught out of position so many times because of it, he has enthusiasm to burn but is too naive, he over committed lost out and as a consequence Man City scored the 2nd and killed us off. He is raw and I am not sure we can afford to carry two full backs who cost us so many goals, we need alternatives as neither have any meaningful competition. -

Gutted about the result but enthused by the performance, at last we are now starting to look like a team, we have a plan and you can see patterns of play, last couple of games as we start to get players back in key positions we have looked well coached, the only issue today was two defensive lapses and some poor decision making at the top end when we had chances. Ruud will be a good manager for us, he has been here a month and whilst results haven’t been great there are definite signs of improvement, if we can recruit well in the window and bring in 3/4 players who are immediate starters and it improves us defensively then I think we can have a good 2nd half run and pick up a few results.
