  1. Why wouldn’t they be? They would have been in their late teens early 20s, standing in the seating area on the Kop. I doubt they would have been sitting in the Main Stand where many of the oldies of that period sat. All seater stadiums, although a good idea for the shorter built fans means that there’s a lack of fans all standing closely together and thishas contributed to the poor atmospheres in all grounds.
  2. We gained a lot of new fans when we got promoted in 2014. We were getting about 23k for matches in the Championship but gained new fans in the Premier League. I think Cov had more scope to get younger fans as for a while they were exiled from their own ground and when they returned, I think this brought in a sense of attachment and belonging again.
  3. Do you notice when you go to away matches whether or not the home fans are all under 40? Have you seen the away coaches arrive and are all the supporters under 40? Are you an older supporter and if not, do you see yourself still supporting City in 20 years time? If you do, then see how angry you get when the newer fans think you should stop going to games because you’re too old. You’re never too old, for many of us, it’s a lifelong commitment and obsession. Sorry if you can’t accept or understand that concept.
  4. It seems that the same fans who show disdain for the older supporters who have supported the team for decades, don’t like it when they perceive the same disrespect accorded to them by the owner/board. We all support Leicester City. Because we don’t boo the team doesn’t mean we don’t care. I’m more than happy to chant anti hierarchy chants but not willing to discourage the team no matter how many times some of us are criticised for not doing so.
  5. Very true. When Tigers won the European Cup, they had a few thousand turn up in the Town Hall Square, when City won the Championship, they had a bus tour finishing with thousands 8n the Town Hall Square. The obsession with what other fans think of us is ridiculous. As said many times, the atmospheres at other grounds is just as apathetic. Guardiola even had to ask the Man City fans to be a bit louder and more proactive when they won the league. If you’ve been to Anfield then once YNWA has finished, it’s back to sleep mode. Football fans are the same all over the country. Leeds is always held up as so brilliant. Last week when they played Sunderland,, it was very quiet. Soon as they scored, all of a sudden it was the best atmosphere anywhere, according to the sycophantic commentators.
  6. Why, because I don’t boo the players? It’s the hierarchy that needs the flack, the team needs all the support it can get. If you don’t see that then you’re not supporting the team and you are the problem if that translates to the pitch.
  7. Who on here has the right to almost demand that fans don’t go to matches or to walk out at a certain time? Just because some supporters want to carry on supporting the TEAM until the bitter end, doesn’t mean that they don’t care about the club or that are lesser fans because they just want to just try and support the team in blue and white.. if you don’t want to go then don’t, if you do want to go then do so. I have no intention of boycotting a match just because someone on a forum says I should and implies that I don’t care for the club if I don’t.
  8. At least Winks is prepared to move the ball forward. After a couple of decent performances earlier in the season, it’s time Soumari was dropped. Although he’s frustrating at times, I think Mavididi should start on Sunday. He surely has a point to prove and again, is prepared to go forward. On another note, did you hear Maresca’s comments when asked about Fernandes being jeered for passing the ball back to the keeper? He said if he didn’t pass back he would be out of the team. Same for the keeper if he goes long. No room for initiative then if there’s a chance of a break.
  9. Usually a guaranteed 6 points for City.
  10. Man Utd and Spurs have been bigger, louder and persistent but still have the same owners. They even have the added bonus of hatchet man, Jim Ratcliffe. Comparing the way European teams protest or sing at matches is just so different to English fans. It won’t change.
  11. Calling put the players and saying they weren’t good enough was extremely bad man management. How many of us on here would feel knocked and unworthy if our bosses had announced to the world that he wanted more quality in his office/workplace and that his current crop weren’t good enough? A team with Barnes, Maddison and Tielemans should never have been relegated. There’s 3 quality players for you.
  12. The only loyalty (usually), is from the fans. Don’t know why some on here get so vitriolic about fans supporting in their own way. Those that want to boo do so, but those that don’t, shouldn’t be castigated by the boo boys and vice versa. Regarding crowd protests, Man Utd and Spurs have been doing it for far longer and with much greater numbers. Has it made any difference? Glazers and Levi still there.
  13. Difficult with 1 against 4..
  14. Too many times he carries the ball as if he’s daydreaming. How many times is he caught and robbed from behind with no foul involved. Winks needs to come back in. At least when Mavs and Winks came on, we actually moved the ball forward.
  15. How do you expect him to score goals when there is nothing coming through from midfield and he’s the only forward against 4 defenders.
  16. Regarding the Song Book programme, if the fans and the players singing that version, didn’t make the hairs on your neck tingle, then I feel sorry for you. YNWA is a song which when sung by Gerry and The Pacemakers, is an emotional fix, doesn’t need the Liverpool fans. When City fans join in with the JB version, I find it very emotional and listening to that podcast, cannot understand why you think only a third join in.
  17. I think more than 1/3 of the ground join in. When Maddison was here, he said it was great hearing the fans singing it. Like said previously, YNWA was always sung by all teams fans but after Hillsborough, became synonymous with Liverpool and almost as a matter of respect, has not been sung by other fans since. The JB version is ideal for a crowd to sing along to.It’s been sung b6 City fans since the late 60s early 70s. I’m sure that the JB version was sung at the end of the title winning season with the squad on the version.
  18. I am the sponsor, I’m a multi billionaire. I’m sure I could get someone local to have their names on the shirts (again).
  19. Dreams are what you want to make them.
  20. That’s not implied at all. Where did I specifically say get rid off King Power ? When a rebrand is done, you don’t usually keep the previous sponsors on show. Surely his place would be on the legends stand. There would be plenty of scope inside the West Stand hospitality areas.
  21. I was daydreaming that I was a multi billionaire and bought City from Top. I looked forward to rebranding the stadium, cutting admission costs and refreshing the stadium. I decided that I wanted the stadium to have the name Fosse in its title. I named the four stands, The Jamie Vardy Stand, The Legends Stand which would have pictures above the stand of the title winning squad, the Gary Lineker Stand as he was a boyhood fan, helped save the club and has always championed us. Then I would have The Birch Stand. The pictures on the Birch Stand would be of those with legendary status for our club, e.g. Arthur Chandler, Arthur Rowley, Banks, Cross, Shilton, Weller, Wallington, Wortho, Lineker, Walshie, Muzzy, Heskey, who also helped save the club. Throw in Matt Gillies, Mart O’Neil and Nigel Pearson. I’m sure there are others.
  22. Not a happy clapper as you like to so patronisingly put it. Just a supporter who always hopes that the next game will see an upturn in our fortunes.
  23. As there are so many on here who despise LCFC, and have some venomous comments for them, wouldn’t it be better if they did their protesting outside the stadium with the rest of the boo boys? I am not a happy clapper and know that we are in a mess and need a change at the top levels. But I still support my team and find it foreign to me to show such vitriol towards the team. How many of you boo boys on here sing “In the good times and the bad, we always back the lads” , but actually don’t.
  24. Obviously not a fan.
