Funnily enough, half time against West Brom when we were pasting them and BR was angry was when I saw through him.

It’s only 20 million pound notes.

It’s the kind of thing I just wouldn’t do. I’d tell them it’s their mistake and I don’t have the money (whether I did or not) and make an offer to pay it off over six months or something.

A recent flight I was on had me watching 100s of people rushing to get out of a plane to then stand in a bus for ages.

Watching Sunday Brunch and they did a geographical quiz for the guests, based on where they were from. One of the places was Blackpool and the question was about roads that joined the Golden Mile. The answers were Belgrave Road and Loughborough Road 🤣

I was so keen to select option 2 I got thumb-lash.

My dad was very proud of the fact that he got me riding a bike without stabilisers before I turned 5. This, inevitably, lead to many years of BMX-inflicted injuries.

Weird one that. I was concerned beforehand as we haven’t been properly on it for the last two games, but other than the first ten minutes, which I put down to Leeds being super fired up, we looked good first half. I went to get a beer at half-time and thought “Leeds aren’t all that, we’ll get the breakthrough soon”. But the second half was a different story. They made a tactical change that we just didn’t respond to until it was too late. Many minutes passed where it didn’t look like we were one down at home against promotion rivals. We just didn’t get anything going, or look like we were trying to. Still, they hardly tore us a new one. They could have easily not scored for the whole match, despite their highly celebrated front line. And, we had the two closest attempts that didn’t go in. If we had responded to their changes after half time, and created more, I think we win that one. The puzzle is why we didn’t - but I’m confident Enzo will figure it out. I’m putting it down as a chance for the players and manager to learn and develop, in preparation for the rest of the season. We won’t win every game but there’s different ways of losing and I’m OK with this one. This loss is also potentially useful from a psychological perspective. We can probably take more from that than another win, considering we’re still developing a new system and have a manager in his first role as manager.

I’m as big a panicky-pants as they come and I can’t see anything other than a win. I may have, temporarily maybe, lost my Leicesterness.

That’s what I’m saying at least, when I say “I hate Spurs” there isn’t a massively strong depth of feeling. I mean, I go through it during matches but that’s different - just an irrational attachment to my club, that I see as a largely positive thing anyway.

I bet in the vast majority of cases people say it in the same way they’d say “I hate tomatoes”. There’s hate, and there’s not-really-hate-but-I-want-to-express-myself-easily-hate.

I don’t agree with the luck thing either. A lot of people said we were lucky to win the prem as the usual top teams were off form, but the fact is we were better than them at that time, for an entire season, and won it. Competition is relative, competitors react to what is around them. For example, had Leeds had a better start we may have felt more pressure and dropped more points. But they didn’t, and that’s purely on them. Us being at the top of the prem may have frustrated the usual top teams who then made bad tactical or squad choices in an attempt to improve. If you’re not doing as well as the competition then you are not as good as them, not unlucky.

I’m at that point where I might be a house owner again on Friday, but even though it’s Monday afternoon I don’t know for sure.

I like the aggression I’m seeing where it’s needed - was my main takeout of that performance. Yes, we do the fantastic passing and keep the ball well, but when the game changes and gets a bit scrappy, we press really well and fight to win the ball back. I love seeing the different modes we play in, and how comfortably we can switch between them. Also, it was great how we responded to going one down. The total inverse to how things were under BR, where nothing seemed to change despite the fact we were suddenly sitting on 0 points. I’ve always believed that you should push for parity immediately in those situations, and not hope it all comes good after 70 minutes or something.
