Looks like Antwerp have agreed to sell Vermeeren (CM) to Atleti for €22m. Hopefully they come in with a bid and take Dennis off our hands this window now.

From that looks like Ricardo RB and Hamza in the 8 role… but wouldn’t be surprised to see that reversed?!

Expecting something like the below. Akgun was primarily a RW before we signed him, be good to see him get a run of games there now Fatawu is out. Agree. I think what people are forgetting is with the obligations for Fatawu and Yunus if we go up and they play X% of games, which it looks like they might meet. That’s c. £23 spend already. Add to the Doyle who I reckon we might end up signing next season, is another c. £15m. Thats £38m nett spend before we’ve even improved this seasons team. Add to which we’ll ideally also need another LW, ST, CM, LB and CB as a minimum. Means it’s going to be tough to get in who we want given what we’ve potentially already committed to spending in the summer.

Yeh can’t see them activating the option to buy at the end of the season. Bologna’s record transfer is €15m. So at the price Victor would be more or less their record signing. A lot of money for a LB.

Made 18 appearances in total, starting over 60% of the time. So definitely a starter for them.

So I assume we can therefore work out what we need to receive in order to break even/ sell our players then… Praet - final year of contract, £1.7m now? Soumaré - £8.5m now, or £6.8m in the summer Thomas - academy player, so anything above £0. Kristiansen - £9.8m now, or £8.7m in summer Souttar - £12.2m now, or £10.9m in summer Ward - £1.125 now or £750k in summer? Anything less and we won’t do it because it would be recorded as a loss in this years accounts. Based on that list Thomas looks the easiest to sell. Would also imagine Soumaré and Kristiansens options to buy in the summer take this into account *Could probably do with someone checking these workings though

Smithies is out of contract in the summer. So could see him gone then, with Ward 3rd choice next season. Not ideal but better than the 5 we started this season with!!

The other thing our 8’s need is goal threat. Bouba has 1 goal and 4 assists in nearly 200 professional games. Maybe that could be taught, but I wouldn’t like to bet on it.

Just to add to this one, Sevilla are close to getting in Lucien Agoumé from Inter on Loan with an option to buy (according to Fabrizio). Young CDM, so possible Soumaré replacement, to free him up to move to Napoli..?

Agree with pretty much all of this, although could see Cannon staying as 3rd choice striker next year, Daka 2nd choice, so new starter needed. Also think Yunus becomes an obligation if we go up? Still means we’re looking at minimum: 1 x CB 2 x CM 1 x LW 1 x ST + Fatawu, Yunus & Doyle being made perm, so 8 total. As for Jan I can only see business being done early if we’re able to shift Souttar or Praet.

Would people take Georginio Rutter if we go up and Leeds don’t? Seems to have found his feet in the Championship, still only 21 and offers good link up play and both footed. Seem to remember him recommended on the forum a few times before he went to Leeds.
