  1. Didn't one of the Batman films in the 90s have its UK premiere in Leicester at Meridian leisure park cinema. Think it just opened so Warner Bros decided to have the premiere there. Val Kilmer turned up for it. RIP
  2. About 18 arrivals into EMA tonight between midnight and 4am. Cargo is big business at EMA, helped by no night time curfew and the likes of DHL, UPS & Royal Mail having their air hubs on site. Rolls Royce use it to ship new engines out as well. Shame the airport or airlines can't make better use of the day. Wonder if a lack of rail link to the airport affects how passengers see the airport. (Can't really call East Midlands Parkway as an airport station.)
  3. Then again a 25/1 winner and CH to fall and they'd be pissing themselves.
  4. Popped into the bookies earlier and had a Myretown / The Changing Man reverse forecast. Good day so far.
  5. No idea what this thread is about but sounds like some crap photoshopping is in order
  6. A tractor and trailer full of sheep has tipped over on the Leicester St / Wilton Rd junction in Melton now. Ironically it crashed next to the old sheep wash slope into the river next to play close. That's Melton ground to a halt now and live sheep roaming about the town
  7. The Beatles - Abbey Road Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon Spiritualized - Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space Radiohead - OK Computer Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
  8. Who sang 'My Way' at the end? She was great.
  9. 3 day weeks, power cuts and queuing for bread next
  10. Unofficial ' Caribbean Carnival' seems to be in the works which might tie up police if it goes ahead. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/urgent-bid-ban-unsafe-leicester-9455408
  11. This boat will be getting picked up by the UK coastguard if it keeps going on...
  12. Zidane taking fashion tips from Pearson... white trainers
  13. I thought London 2012 having the sailing events around the south coast was a bit far away but France have smashed that by having events in Tahiti
  14. There better be a decent fireworks display after all this
  15. Finally a decent song... and its by John Lennon
  16. Surely France have produced better music than this shite..
  17. It needs the atmosphere of being in a stadium with all the althletes gathering together in the middle... being so spread out and bobbing about in the Seine isn't cutting it... nice idea though
  18. Snoop Dogg is in town, time to bring him out to liven this up.
  19. Will they get the French President to parachute out of a helicopter with Inspector Clouseau I wonder. This isn't a patch on the 2012 Danny Boyle opening ceremony. Good that they've tried something different but its better in a stadium imo.
  20. A pub in Nottinghamshire has been named as the best hospitality business at the Leicestershire business awards 2024, the Stuart Broad co-owned pub Tap & Run in Upper Broughton... although to be fair the pub is literally metres from the Leicestershire border, and has an LE postcode and Melton phone number. It's the pub that burnt down a few years ago. https://www.meltontimes.co.uk/lifestyle/food-and-drink/top-local-award-for-village-pub-4714149
  21. Dentists are regulated and much more difficult to deal with I would assume. Businesses like barbers, car washes etc are easy to put cash through the till and launder any ill gotten gains.
  22. I'm about 10 mins walk from there. Been busy as well with the games they've shown so far. There's a bar as well
  23. Just caught up with The Streets set on iPlayer. Great performance from Skinner... Off to listen to Original Pirate Material now
