Having last been out last in town on a Tuesday in August and been pleasantly surprised, last night (Friday) was first weekend night for a long time. It was upsetting to see. No busier than Tuesday. 3 or four tables at each restaurant I snooped in. Bars with 4 or five tables occupied, all quietly sitting and minding their own business (quite pleasant in a low key way) The city as it was, I'm afraid, is lost. The 'white flight' is as rapid as it is startling. Belvoir street and granby street and London road you won't see a white face. The students (who should prop up the nightlife) are London blacks who party differently. Or Chinese. Or Indians and africans who have scammed a visa to do deliveroo. I can only assume now, those who once used to go into town prefer to stay in their hometown locals for a bit of life; , ratbys, grobys, shepsheds, harboroughs, Broughton astleys etc On a wider note, it doesn't bode well long term for City's core support. The support was traditionally around 50% urban Leicester and 50% county. It must be up to 80% county based now.

Somebody on here said this on the eve of season - Only one team can stop us, and that's ourselves. Or words to that effect. I had the same sentiment then and still do now. It's ours for the taking. If, big if, we want it

Marti Cifuentes appointed new manager
Paninistickers replied to Tuna's topic in Leicester City Forum
Agree. Most of us felt Enzo got us promoted but made heavy weather of it, putting philosophy ahead of pragmatism at the business end of the season. A few lessons learned in winning run in games 1-0 from Claudio would've helped -
Obvs wish I'd put more in now. But that the game, right? Knew it was a high risk fund so only put a fraction in, leaving rest in less volatile funds

I've got a global tech fund that up 35% since Jan this year. Weighing up whether to cash out tomorrow, get a regular 4% cash savings on it for a bit and wait for a dip

Marti Cifuentes appointed new manager
Paninistickers replied to Tuna's topic in Leicester City Forum
That's not the manager's brief though,.it would seem. It looks like he's been told promotion at all/any cost/s. And it's really difficult, when given that order,.to do away with a central defensive partnership that won 99 points two years ago. Personally, what little I've seen of Nelson, he gave me very similar vibes to John Stones. But, this is one where we have to trust a competent, professional manager knows and sees more than we do -
City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff
Paninistickers replied to davieG's topic in General Chat
I think it'd look great. Very European. Especially with 90% of the punters puffing on shishas or munching on cassava. A scene straight out of Paris, Malmo and Brussels! -
Yet I can personally guarantee that those who absolutely must leave the ground on 91 minutes to get home for strictly and/or catch 'the last train' for their 4000 mile round trip, despite missing the aforementioned TV show and last train, will still leave on 91 minutes.

Being a good egg and a deeply flawed CEO aren't mutually exclusive.. Pearson's posts hints at her cultural obedience to KP. And his post doesn't disqualify that she signed off on financial disasters. I disagree with his views on her business acumen. What kind of businessperson despises selling tickets to its customers? Refuses to engage with large local businesses? As for the retail, I've seen dozens of examples on here of attempting to buy clobber and the link not working. Business wise, the her stewardship was a shambles. I do accept tho that she's likely to be a good diplomat, a decent person and loyal to her immediate team, up and down the chain.

Gerry McCann gave his reasons today. First they thought she was a chancer. Second, the polish police had told them she's a fake. Third, it's up to the police to conduct the investigation, not them

I've just popped on bbc2. I'm.sire I've seen this documentary before. About Britain's Nuclear scandal. It's gripping and upsetting documentary making.

Exactly this. That was precisely his MO.. As for this 'he left us in good hands' narrative, it was more luck than judgement. I specifically remember him saying, when asked about if the new owners would invest in the squad, he replied 'presumably' ....he neither knew nor cared. That wasn't his concern. Absolute brilliant deal he got for himself though from KP. How the fck he found repeatedly these foreign buyers is talent in itself. All said, a great character and although he caused our only relegation to League one, he owned the error, stumped up and financed us out of it (albeit on loans but at least he had the cashflow to offer us)

Sad news. Never quite convinced of his story of 'electronics' making his wealth. Reckon he was a very shrewd, very tough businessman that cloaked any toughness with a bit of a pantomime football owner facade. Either way, great character and a major part of our story.

Mate. He wasn't shocking at all. As others have pointed out, he made the team far better. I think it's pretty obvious he's a confidence player. Not every player is blessed with an unshakeable belief. Can't we just show the lad some love and appreciation? It's in both player and supporter interests that he succeeds.

Swansea 1-3 LCFC, post match thread
Paninistickers replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Moving through the gears. I love that in a good team. Wrexham was the end of the beginning of this season. Today, I hope, was the start of the start. -

And doing so rather well. We need to introduce a threat on the break which I think suits us

I thought form the off they'd go up. But it's a long way for a desperate fan base to hold their nerve and transmit those nerves to the players. Don't rule out panic setting in late Jan/Feb

Think the same too. If he really has to start him, he has to go in his favoured position out wide. use him as an outball, make the ball stick out there for a while.

Not your question but in no particular order I love all of the following; Six Nations (Cardiff or Lansdowne Rd). Cheltenham (Gold Cup) Olympics (track) Rugby World Cup (quarters) ...and I'd love international cricket too if they reduced the amount of games by 85% -
Look, I don't like to knock the well meaning individuals you have at FT. But.... She totally ignored your infamous 'list of questions' in 2023 and from the very occasional minutes I'd skim read of Fan Advisory Boards she either A) sent apologies for her absence or B) completely palm any awkward questions off with a robotic 'that's not in the remit of this meeting' and then quickly turn the subject towards her favourite safe themes like food concessions.and disabled access

Wonderful punditry from both him and Antonio. Generational gap with equally valid points. How refreshing.
