  1. It'll be the good It's better and will certainly adhere to international law that we have to play 4231. But it lacks the inevitable BdcR. He'll be playing as certain as night follows day. Personally, I've banged on and on that we desperately need to show some physicality. Even at the expense of ability. I'd have Okoli at RB, Vesty at central half and Nelson as a sort of left back. I'd have a basic AF midfield, Hamza right, JJ and winks and Skipp on the left. And I'd go long, and play Stephy and Daka up front as a pair. I'd prefer us to at least go down trying something different rather than the Chinese water torture of 4231
  2. They'll be celebrating long and hard in Derby tonight that their deepest dearest lover is doing so well
  3. Our quarters had Bodo/Glimt, Feyenoord, PSV, Us, Roma, Marseille In the conference league FFS. Supposedly a division below the garbage the red filth have played.
  4. One of the all time great terrible penalties 😭
  5. I wonder when the council estates turned from Truman Show style idyll to rough? Certainly in the 80s hand avenue/cort crescent the saff, monsell were places that felt rough and ready
  6. The evidence that Nixon was the problem is pretty heavy. Yet difficult to process; a genuine club legend therefore impossible to dislike and, having met the bloke a couple of times briefly, a seemingly thoroughly nice fella. Came across exactly as you'd expect him to.
  7. Plus he had fck knows how many cracks with Celtic and always managed to find a 6-0 or 7-0 from somewhere
  8. Boom. Fck off forest
  9. A good post. And reinforces the fact that most of our support aren't capable of critical thought. Everything is binary thinking. No shades of grey. No nuance. No mitigation.
  10. What a shame uefa revamped the tournaments. The ' relegation' from CL to EL to ECL was such a boost for the quality of each tournament. Forest playing midtylkkand in the last 16 of the EL ffs. Same standard of team of us playing Randers in the last 32 of the tournament below. We then played Rennes at the same stage in the tournament below FFS. We had fun.
  11. Basic thinking. I don't give a shit what they are. It's about a short term fix of doing a job. He can run reasonably quick. He is capable of goals. A struggling team instructed to launch it into the channels (a winger's job anyways) is what any decent pragmatic manager would play.
  12. Why not Daka and Stephy up top? A proper coach would have them running a back four ragged and us pumping the ball into channels.
  13. So, you're saying we can't play 442 433 4321 451 4312 You're with all these managers that persist with 4231 despite several billion tonnes weight of evidence suggesting it's not been working too well. A three man central midfield means skipp covers winks deficiencies. Winks covers Skipp's. And it frees up JJ to maraude forward rather than have to continually watch out for his partner.. Then pop Ramsey/mukasa to pull the strings up top ...leaving Daka and one of the wingers to run themselves sick up top for 60 mins before being replaced. Or even go with a false 9. So many options other than the shit show that is 4231
  14. Never has a defeat been more certain
  15. Have I missed something in the rules of the game? Are we under a rule that we can only play two midfielders? We've been mullered on midfield for three of the last four seasons for this wretched 2 man obsession. Whereas other teams play as many as five. And we wonder why we lose midfield?! Can't we just fcking play Winks AND Skipp AND JJ ffs? The only time we've not been destroyed in midfield in the last four seasons is us not playing this fcking double pivot. Winks and Ricky played as a two but were ably supported by two other midfielders playing miles and miles below their level in Wilf and KDH. In other words a fcking 4 man midfield
  16. Yes. I did the march (through slightly gritted teeth, as I'm one of the quiet ones. If I felt uncomfortable, I can guarantee other quiet people did - but instead chose to not protest) I haven't been to a game in over a year. But will to join an organised protest in the west stand...and feel much more comfortable doing it there than outside the f bar and chanting the word 'cvnt' in the streets I'm not having a pop at the protests -far from it ...I'm just describing how I suspect many of our introvert fan base thinks/feels like I do.
  17. I repeat the point. Relocating the protests to the west stand has two effects. Firstly: the optics, the media nearby and the KP machine suffering visible and audible eye to eye humiliation. Secondly, the quiet people. The lurkers. If it becomes known that the west stand is a safe space to voice dissent, a few will quietly relocate there and wait for their moment.
  18. I largely agree. They were 50 - 100 lads - Baby Squad back then -;who camped in main stand and they alone made it very uncomfortable for the manager and owner until the rest of the crowd finally snapped. Work smart, not hard. Move to west stand. KP will hate it. The media will love it. And, tbh, encourage quieter fans to do that too. And those quiet ones can, and will, lurk.
  19. I haven't got all the answers, I'm afraid. But there are lessons from history.. City fans have always been reactionary. The O'Neil protest exploded after the infamous Sheffield United game. The Pleat/Shipman protests followed the umpteenth abysmal home defeat after a similarly small group had spent 18 months calling for change. Which means 1) protests work better AFTER a bad result. Not before.. 2) you've gotta be consistent. And expect little reward 3) the noisy minority need to move to the west stand, as they did in the main stand g block in the pleat days. Believe me, it makes it very very very uncomfortable for the club executive to have protesters at eye level. Based on that, next home game is suggest a peaceful 1 hour post match protest on the car park. If we win, there'll only be a 100 there. If we lose, a few more. Also, that home game, if the 200 active protesters all swap tickets to go in the west stand, it'll be very effective. I'd rather the money for the plane went to subsidising the ticket upgrade costs. Edit; one lone chant helps too. Nine of this Rudkin's a cvnt nonsense. Anybody my age will still vividly be able to hear the strains of 'pleeeeeeaaaat OUT' over and over
  20. Hate to be a smart arse but I made several comments about the protests needing to appeal to quiet people, the silent majority - the few comments replying to the suggestions were criticised and mocked. Marching and chanting from the horrific f bar won't cut it with boring old fuddy duddies (like me, tho I did do it under duress) I'm afraid. To use the modern word, any protest needs to be inclusive.
  21. 4231 same players - and we exoeta different outcome?
  22. Like, honestly, he hasn't. We won in spite of him. We drew at Ipswich in spite of him.. He does nothing mate. I mean nothing in its purest form. You don't have to believe me. Just watch him with your own eyes. He's invisible to the game itself and as such, gets these vague credits from the likes of yourself when a positive result coincides with him being on the pitch. But if you watch him instead of the game, you'll see. Nothing.
  23. It's a joke if a division. Derby are what 7th? Quite clearly (over two games) amongst the worst team we've played in 14 years - let alone this season. Middlesbrough were garbage in both games. Swansea are upper mid table when they have relegation written all over them. Millwall just a bog standard 12th in the table Millwall but sit third. Ipswich a shadow of the team that went up with us. The only teams I felt even resembled being strong are Cov and, I think the best we played, was Norwich.
  24. There only two things certain in life; and both are worse than death and taxes 4231 Bob Reid
