Edit, Cooper has asked the players what way they think they should face to receive a pass….

Filling the car up as we speak.

I’d also like to know what instructions the players get when we seem to be struggling or lose control of the game. Because it just seems to be that Buonanotte just tries to take the world on by himself……. As soon as the game plan goes out the window (even if there is one) we just resort to chaos, chaotic defending and chaotic attack, there’s no finesse or apparently plan. And there’s no real excuse when some of these players have European experience. Which some people are conveniently forgetting.

I don’t know if the it was more to go with our shape somewhat combatted Forests, Yates even made comments himself saying that it caught them by surprise, but then second half Forest come out and exploit the system straight away. We looked okay, but I felt the game was on a knifes edge and I just had an uneasy feeling that Forest would be able to gain an advantage with a minor tweak. The problem I have with people saying individual errors aren’t on Cooper, they are…. Forest still had the better of the first half in my opinion, this was because they are a well drilled team, they all know what they’re doing, they have set patterns of play and cycle through them depending on the scenario they’re presented with. We didn’t seem to have that, we either looked to get the ball to the wide players or Bounanotte and hope they force something, or we looked to play the ball into winks and get forward through him. It worked from time to time in the first half, but then second half it didn’t because Forest sussed it out. Problem is then, if that isn’t working then the players will be a little bit stuck, and that was evident I thought, because the players were second guessing themselves taking too make touches, making the wrong passes and taking upon themselves to dribble through the entire team. With this, errors happen, because they’re trying to think of their next move, get pressed or a passing lane is cut off, and they force the issue any way or just switch off. There is definitely a link between a lack of innovation from a coach and mistakes. There’s been lots of talk about Coopers relaxed style of management, and I think this team need a rocket up their arse and clear instruction over an all involved process.

Ipswich will be chaotic. It will likely be 5-4 the them. Neither team can defend, and is say Ipswich carry more threat in attack. No doubt Szmodics will have a blinder and score a hat-trick.

There’s enough premier league experience and young talent in this team to be performing better than we are. There haven’t really been any good performances in all honesty, a few moments here and there that have produced results. Cooper switches systems like no bodies business, because he can’t get the balance of the squad right a criticism he’s carried everywhere he’s been. Basic fundamental errors, all over the field the players can’t be blamed all of the time for this it comes from the top, and Cooper just isn’t coaching them adequately enough. The problem is they’ve gone from a very rigid coaching style, to a very relaxed one, this is a radical change and I don’t think alot of the player are buying it…. I’m not saying that he’s “lost” the dressing room per se, because he probably hasn’t because he’s a good guy and a good man manager, but tactically and a as a coach he is poor, and it’s the main reason we’re not playing as well as we could be. I think he’s reduced us to a moments team, and we revel in the chaos and often seem to be able to find a way playing like this. But you come up against a team who’s got a clear plan and can execute it well, the chaos never comes, and we simply have no ideas and no way to break down the opponents, but we’ve got creative players on the side, that are lacking guidance and a structured plan. It very much is a case of get the ball to one of Mavididi, Fatawu or Buonanotte and just hope they can run through an entire team.

This is what happens when a side is well drilled. Nuno is renowned for putting together solid teams. We’ve managed to get things from teams that are a bit more open and less organised, Forest barely gave us a sniff because every player knew their role and every player knew what was expected of them. When someone got the ball, there was a purpose to their play, either punch a pass into a threatening area of it was on, or recycle the ball and don’t lose it. We had no answer, not because we are a poor team (despite what many think on here), but because we’re a poorly coached team. Nuno exposed Cooper, and really highlighted how poor a coach and tactician he really is. Had an interesting chat with my mate, he said it sounds like Cooper basically goes about his business as he did when he was an academy coach…….. essentially, treats the players like they are kids….. which is never going to work at this level….. He evidently isn’t “in charge” he’s too flimsy in his approach, and is more of a “there, there” manager with patronising pats to the head, probably hands out haribo’s at the end of a session and will probably have a “managers most improved player” award at the end of the season.

Do they do Klarna?

I want him gone now though…..

I suppose that Bournemouth’s draw at Villa makes Cooper a genius to the Coopites?
-
Has this penis gone yet?
-
Because normally we make decent managerial appointments.

How many games can the Coopites link with our own and claim that wE cOuLd Be SoUtHaMpToN….

He’s not a happy bunny, Winks.

We’re in desperate need for a coach. This lazy argument of same players it starting to get tedious…… they’re largely the same as last season, yet, the style of football is unrecognisable. How a team plays is down to the coach. Last night, for the first time you really saw Coopers ideology exposed. Forest didn’t do anything dramatically brilliant, they were just well drilled, well organised, and every player on the pitch knew exactly what they were required to do. They were comfortable all over the pitch, and that is a result of good coaching and good management. The players see a vehicle for the managers ideas, and when people say “what do you expect when your striker is a 37 year old”, can’t see the bigger picture. It was a mess last night, no one knew what they were supposed to be doing, and it makes it incredible easy for an opposition to play against you when there’s no evident plan…. Changing the manager for a coach with a clear ideology could yield better results….. clinging onto a coach that clearly doesn’t know what he is doing with this team is leaving our fate to pure luck.

That’s the list.

A team with no clear plan, playing with no identity makes poor choices and poor mistakes. We have got to drop this mindset that individual errors are entirely the players fault. Is the team isn’t set up correctly and there’s no structure plan in place the players will make errors. Tonight you could just see it, every time a player put their foot on the ball there was no real idea as to what they wanted to do next. Forest knew this, first half out shape caught them by surprise, but second half Nuno clearly told them we’ve not got a clue what we’re doing both in and out of possession, they applied a bit of pressure and we folded like a deck chair. Cooper can’t be defended after tonight, it just proves how out of his depth he actually is, and then to add insult to injury he brings on Soumare over Skipp?? He’s got to go, it’s a gamble keeping in his post, his tactical inadequacies are glaringly obvious, and it’s clear this team isn’t well drilled or well coached. I think our game play literally is get the ball to Buonanotte and just hope he can run through the entire team, we play football like an under 12’s team. Furthermore, why is a lad on loan from Brighton look like the only one who gives a shit? All round an embarrassing evening, and it’s the start reminder of how badly this club has been run…. Cooper should have got back on that coach to Nottingham at full time.
