  1. I hope so, they’re just unrelenting at the moment, looking back they’ve had a very favourable run but they’ve not tripped once. I just worry that we’re more susceptible to a slip up than they are.
  2. April looks the most difficult month for Southampton….. I can’t see where they’re dropping points until then….. we’ve got a couple of horrible games dotted in the up and coming weeks…… that I can see us throwing. Just hope we can hold our nerve or Southampton have a little wobble.
  3. So do I to be fair. That was a complete lie.
  4. Behave, he is the best goalkeeper ever. I’ll hear nothing else of it.
  5. I voted for no pineapple on pizza.
  6. Karen and Peter from Coalville like to leave early to “beat the traffic” can be stuck in it four at least half an hour if you’re not careful!

    Daka

He scores goals, all types of goals. What I like about him more than anything 90% of his goals appear to be scrappy, when it is in fact his ability to just be in the right place. He gambles when the ball comes in and he’s most aggressive when he is in that position, and often wins those 50/50 balls leading to a scruffy goal. I’d like him to watch back Vardy in the PL title winning season, and just note at how aggressive Vardy was when in pursuit of the ball. My favourite Vardy moment ever was when he ran through Kaboul like he wasn’t even there, that’s the kind of aggression I wasn’t Daka to try and adopt.
  8. I think we’re probably going to have to sell KDH in the summer, providing he continues to play like he is. We will need to significantly invest in the squad, and I can’t see how else we can do it without selling a key asset?
  9. I get what you mean, on the face of it, it does seem ludicrous…. But, it can have its benefits, particularly if a lesser team has a decent draft, and goes on to be successful. But, America is geared up to operate this way, it’s how they’ve always done it, which is why it works for them.
  10. I think it’s a good thing personally. It certainly keeps things interesting you don’t get one team winning their respective finals every year, and it helps throw up a few surprises down the line. It’s also worth remembering that teams to trade, so one team may have drafted a first pick, but a more reputable franchise can come in and offer a trade, but it still usually benefits the team they’re trading with, as they will often sacrifice two decent players to trade in one first pick draft. I do think the system they use is good, their leagues are definitely more stable and lucrative than the EPL I’d say (exciting the MLS as it’s not competitive compared to the American sports).
  11. Can’t see Coalville town catching us to be fair.
  12. Another good point, our match day experience is dreadful, it’s like a lame version of Disney land sometimes!
  13. Account was clearly hacked.
  14. Arsenal have no bollocks, they’re not capable of seeing this game out, Liverpool will end up winning because they’ve got the testicular fortitude to get a result, arsenal haven’t.
  15. I think @Ric Flair made a very good point on the BSLB pod, it’s one I share. I still think that they’re a lot of fans in fact, who aren’t what you would consider “football” fans. They support Leicester City and that the extent of their football knowledge. It’s not a criticism, because it’s not really their fault, it’s what they had access to when they got into football. What this can impact, is how you view football or how you develop as a fan. If you think about the vast majority of fans, they grew up in an era where match of the day, and a Saturday tea time game were their football outlets, other than coming to watch the city. Exposure to international football was limited, so exposure to a different culture of football, and different styles were at a premium. This is vastly different to what I would consider to be my generation, who had FIFA, Championship/Football manager, football Italia, sky sports international football and a more televised champions league. Then you’ve got the rise of social media, which essentially offered untapped access to football from all over the world. I think all of this can have an impact on fans expectations, the game has evolved hugely, and at a rapid pace. You can argue that the birth of the premier league should have changed that, but I still think there’s a lot of learned behaviours in football and pockets of fans won’t have come away from their traditions to adapt. I worked with someone who still only listened to radio Leicester for their football, some people don’t have satellite TV, and never have so their football exposure is whatever is on terrestrial TV. I thin theres a strong correlation between fans football education and what they expect and how they view a game. Some will love Enzo’s style, it’s like a chess game and you’ll play a set way to achieve your goal…. Others will view it as boring side to side football with zero entertainment because the pace can often be fairly slow. Some consider football as entertainment, thus it needs to be high octane, high energy hell for leather football…. Which would be us traditionally, which is probably why some fans struggle with anything different, they were used to growing up watching this type of football. Yes there were teams who were possession based in previous generations, but they were considered streets ahead and the standard of player was far inferior to the modern day footballer, now, footballers are a completely different beast compared to yesteryears, they’re athletes, and mostly singing from the same hymn sheet in terms of philosophy…. This is the modern way, it’s what we will be used to, and we will probably be the same in about 20-30 years when football is being played on Mars or something……. I also think because up until the last decade, our success has been modest, bouncing around the top two tiers, with the occasional league cup success, we’ve had the most ridiculous decade in the history of football, if you travelled back in time and told the story it would make a blockbuster fantasy movie…. But I think because of this we’ve developed a really sentimental approach to our football, which was evident when people were still viciously in support of Rodgers last season, despite the failures, and clapping the players off after a spineless relegation. It takes all sorts to support a football club, but sometimes some fans need to open their eyes a little bit to the modern game, it’s the way it’s going worldwide.
  16. I agree with a lot of the above posts. Football is a victim of its own success….. how can clubs outside of the premier league charge as much as they do? It's purely financial, clubs can’t afford to drop their prices due to losing revenue. The championship is a horrible league, it’s so close to the PL but also so far….. none of footballs upper echelons give a **** about it, it’s all about the PL……. So financially it’s a very tough league to move in, and the longer you’re in it the more difficult it gets, especially if you’ve fallen from the premier league. Leagues 1 and 2 there’s possibly a little less pressure, £18 will see you to a Burton Albion game, which is probably about right….. You can’t criticise people for spending money on shit football, would you pay £30 to watch Stoke? Absolutely not. Not in this climate, and you won’t win any medals for boasting of you do. Football no longer reflects the communities they serve.
  17. I think the biggest issue with Rudkin, is his long standing affiliation with the club, he’s risen through the ranks into a lofty position, I don’t know the guy personally, but that is likely to have an impact on his attitude. If the stories are true that he was blindly behind Rodgers, despite him quite clearly not wanting to be with the club anymore. He has become part of the furniture, and in such a position as his that can become dangerous. In my opinion he has too much control over the club, and he’s frankly unqualified to do his role. Unfortunately he’s going nowhere bar a scandal, complete bollock dropped or a fan revolt. He needs to go, there’s an unhealthy relationship with the club and a far too comfortable one with Top. In a DOF, we need someone who isn’t affiliated with the club.
  18. We’ve got three in form strikers…..
  19. Thoroughly entertaining football.
  20. I’d argue it speaks volumes of the change in attitude in Vesty, and the quality of Nelson. They’re just better players than Coady in this moment.
  21. ****ing rubbish this game isn’t it?
  22. I’m personally with him. The question I have is what exactly do some fans expect? Some are even trying to downplay what Enzo has done so far. I have some reservations, but these are more concerns about next season, but how can I judge him until he’s had a chance to manage in the premier league? When he took over, the club was on its arse… it had its soul ripped out and seemingly appeared to be a sinking ship. Enzo came in with a positive attitude, and a definite plan. It’s what the club desperately needed, he’s brought about a sense of calm and order in a world of calamity. He’s managed to keep key players onside and drastically improved others I.E KDH. Do some people realise how difficult it is to implement a new style straight away? Enzo pretty much did, it’s easy to sit here and just suggest it’s down to the quality in the squad, but that doesn’t matter if the belief and attitude isn’t there….. Southampton and Leeds took a while to get going, so it goes to show how difficult it can be. Anyone who expects everything to be perfect from day one, is living in a fantasy land. We’re still top, we’re still ten points clear, we’re still on track to have a pop at readings record…. We’re in a period of transition, which will have its rough patches as well as smooth. I actually quite enjoy watching us play, because when we get it right, we’re untouchable.
  23. Well, they’re clearly not as one has been punished for it, and the other look set to be punished for financial breaches…… so I would disagree with you there.
