SCMP rules - Now Championship and League One
Pliskin replied to LCFCCHRIS's topic in Leicester City Forum
These rules entirely depend on what an owner decides to do. Top can inject money into the club and turn it into revenue, however, this is his money, and not a loan, loans don’t count. This is the only way we will be able to thrive and potentially even survive. There’s far too much going out of the club to even contemplate using revenue to sign players, we’re already operating at a colossal loss for this level. Even after losing the out of contract players our losses will be between £40-60 million before a £1 is spent Whereas this won’t necessarily impact us in terms of breaching rules, because they’re there to me manipulated, it seriously hamstrings our ability to run as a club, because we will be operating at a significant loss. If Top doesn’t inject money into the club, then the likelihood is we won’t be paying our bills…. The concerns are, that Top essentially puts money into the club to purely maintain it, IE, pay the bills, and nothing more, or he puts nothing into the club at all expecting it to self generate money to A, keep the club running and B, invest into the team. This simply isn’t going to happen, and appears frankly impossible. This idea of “shifting deadwood” as well needs to be dropped, we’ve been trying for 4 years and haven’t managed it, what makes people think we will all of a sudden manage it now, when our assets are less desirable than before. Our most valuable playing asset is probably Fatawu, and we won’t be getting anymore that £10m for him….. so in short, we are absolutely royally ****ed. Unless, Too injects money into the club, which he can’t afford to do. He also won’t sell it either, so we are heading the same way as Sheffield Wednesday unfortunately. -
Missed every Ayew goal. Gutted.

No managerial communication since relegation to L1 on 21st April

Strange sense of humour if that’s the case! -

And me. I mean, why the **** would you? Wasn’t it his first home game? -
Why? It’s no secret Vardy likes a party…….

Are we surprised? This pre season will be identical to last. No manager and no players by the time the first league game starts. -
I reckon he will finish his career at Wednesday……. As we get relegated to league 2, he will help take Wednesday up.
-
I’ve heard it was going to be Butlins but the club couldn’t afford the package they were offering, so it’s going to be a field on the New Parks!

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
Pliskin replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’d be more interested in hearing what Vardy has to say. Honesty, off record. -
You’re not wrong, I was merely suggesting the reappointment of Nige ultimately led to the foundations being laid for our success, that is all. But you are not wrong.
-
I wasn’t, I was referencing the hiring of NP under KP, and he and his team building the foundations for us to then properly build for the future. The previous NP stint doesn’t count for KP, but what it does do it just shows their methods of thinking…… I wouldn’t put it past them hiring Nigel again.
-
They still appointed him, and it’s still the best thing they ever did.
-
To be fair the most effective way to hurt them is not go, don’t buy the shirt, don’t go to the games, don’t give them a penny. It turns out the chap I sat next to has given up his season ticket too…. He’s been going for about 45 years, really great guy, loves the club, has been there through the thick and the thin…. It says a lot when people like him are giving up. Im certainly not giving king power another £. But unfortunately, many will, and it’s not unfair to say that they’re contributing to the demise of the club by continuing to support the current regime. You can’t “back the lads” and not the regime at the same time, it doesn’t work, if you go to the games you’re investing into KP…… The only way we heal and rebuild is if the same happens to us as Sheffield Wednesday. But it boils down to do the fans care enough about the club? Where has that passion gone that caused earthquakes? What’s happened? Why are the majority so happy to just let the club continue to die in front of them? Every football financial expert has said that we are ****ed. So why are some just disregarding this and claiming it will be “okay” and “we’ve been there before”…… I’m sorry if it offends anyone and comes across as arrogant, but that’s a real lack of football intelligence, or business intelligence if you will. There are far, far too many red flags, and the only way out is for Top to pump money into the club, which he can’t do……. So, how exactly does this get resolved?
-
That’s because he knew exactly what he was doing. The best thing that ever happened to KP was hiring Nige, Walsh and Shakey. It was those three that built the foundations for the future success. It can’t be disputed…. So, when people say “king power did this for us” did they? If a billionaire paid a master builder to build him a house, would the billionaire be credited for all of the work? Or the builder?
-
Yep, it’s absolutely mad…. As @Halfsy said on the BSLB pod, the majority of these fans in support of KP, will probably turn up to an empty stadium once we’re bust, and then clear off to the tigers instead. There’s a massive section of our fanbase who with the greatest respect, don’t know much about football, they’re “Leicester city” fans, but they can’t really tell you much about the wider football world. Silly little things like referring to the EPL as the Premiership, and saying”we’ve always been a yo-yo team”, which may have been true once, but shouldn’t be possible now….. Charlie Methven was absolutely spot on, when he said our main worry should be that we don’t become footballs first big insolvency, which we will, of course we will, this board manages to achieve the impossible, and they will eventually lead us into financial breakdown. The fact more fans, can’t see this, and aren’t willing to protest against it….. we need to collectively see past the kind power past, it’s completely different ownership now, Top isn’t his father and that legacy is now in tatters, it’s irrelevant what happened in the past, they’re destroying the club NOW, and there’s zero evidence they’re putting it right. The finances for next design look eye watering, we know that they don’t have the capacity to turn it around.

I often wonder. Why? Why aren’t we all stood at Seagrave now, demanding answers. I read something on social media a Leicesters fan commenting on a post of Sheffield Wednesday at their final home game words to the effect of “that’s what real fans do, back their players even in a crisis”….. yet fail to mention the protesting they did against the ownership to rescue their club. The problem with is, is we’ve got it on two folds…. The players don’t give a shit, and essentially gave up a long time ago, and the board are incompetent, I can’t back the “lads” or the regime. I don’t like this team, bar a couple of youth players I hate the lot of them. But, I think there’s also an awkwardness amongst a lot of the match going fanbase, and it’s clear to see on social media that some simply won’t speak out against the ownership, or they blindly think if they carry on going and clapping things will get better and Top will suddenly sort it out…… This is a man who continually promotes a man who’s mainly responsible for the mess we’re in…… I just don’t think enough fans care, when we have 100 people turn up to protest, it just doesn’t strike the chord it should do….. but I’m starting to think we may as well just keep protesting, even if it’s just 50…. Eventually 50 will become 100, 200 1000 10,000 etc….. I now think consistency will potentially make people braver and drive the numbers up. As @Katy said, Top and Rudkin are preparing their own nooses and will eventually hang themselves, and then perhaps the majority will wake up, but it will be far too late.
-
The crisis started 5 years ago, and they’ve not done anything to arrest the decline in this time. So they’re not going to start now. This summer will be exactly the same as last, no manager until the 11th hour, and no players besides a few loans.
-
Vardy definitely is, because of what he has achieved in such a small period, and the “world class” defences he’s frankly made a mockery of. Always scored against the big teams, and that’s the measure of a world class player for me. Mahrez is the best player we’ve ever had, technically there’s not many better. Best first touch in football history, period, one of those players whose natural ability to shift his body weight effortlessly, and have the touch of a god. Kante goes without saying, just the best in the world ever at what he did. Then of course, there’s Joe Aribo…..
-
You’re not wrong at all, for me I just let the football impact me far too much, and I’ve found the best way of coping with all of this is to temporarily step away. It’s devastating when you think about it, a lot of people I know around me all think the same. There’s just things in my life now I prioritise above the football, and I just can’t let it impact me anymore like it has been. We will be back at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later! Hopefully for those still going it’s sooner rather than later, and next season is an exhibition of youth kick starting a new golden generation for the club!
-
That’s fair enough. The main thing for me is, I don’t want to invest into king power or Top anymore. It feels to me that the “badge” has been suffocated to the point of the club almost appearing irrelevant….. Im cynical, for 30 years I’ve been through it with this club, but the fire has gone, thanks to this current regime, the identity of the club has gone for me, for the first time in 13 years the season tickets have made general sale…… this is just a long decline and the worse is yet to come. I will always love this club, but I’m not giving anything to it until King Power are long gone.
-
There will be, undoubtedly a period of good times again….. Im in a position where my kids are too young to go, and the old man doesn’t want to go anymore….. there’s a % of me that wanted to keep it with the hope that we basically flood the team with youngsters, but even that I don’t have much hope for……..
