  1. Wow, reading some of this stuff you would probably want to get to the nearest cliff and jump! We got a win, thats positive. We played very average against a poor side, I know that doesnt give us many reasons to be optimistic, however we are a 4 points away from the play-offs and are surrounded by some bang average sides. Its the worst Championship i can remember and I think getting rid of some more dead wood in the Winter transfer window and bringing in some decent loans and dare I say it, spend money and buy a few (According to Soccerbase the last season we didnt actually pay for someone was 1982/83 season), then we have half a chance. Any other Championship season and we would be buggered, however we can still pull this one out of the hat.
  2. We need to be careful in our expectations of this kid. Yes he is very talented but he isnt among a group that you think will motivate him to kick on. The quicker we get rid of some of this dead wood and get more players in who want to play for the short and not pick up the wage the better. He needs to be around a more positive scene to see him grow as we seem to be looking at him at Fatawu to dig us out of the shite all the time and its a bit too much to ask for someone so young.
  3. I feel for Cifuentes. Im not saying he would have been my first choice manager, but what a task this bloke has had. Not only does he have to pick up a relegated group of players, he has to do it without the departing Mads, Ndidi, Bilal and Vardy. If those stayed, we would be top of the league no doubt. We also lost players that arguably would challenge to get in the first team in JJ, Kasey. Coady and Coulibaly. All that and we bring in three loans and two free transfer GKs!! In addition to that, we have players that wanted out and loads have been out on loan in recent times (Soumare, Thomas, Hamza. Kristensen) and we know that some of them along with Faes and Winks seemingly were looking for moves. I think when you look at all that upheaval, the boardroom issues, possible sanctions and points deductions, he has done alright. A 6/10. Positives Monga, Page, Nelson have had game time, Stolarcyzk has been backed whilst Silko, Aluko and Evans you know are being considered for game time, that all bodes well for the future. We need to rid of more deadwood and bring in more like Jordan James who look like they are trying and dont have the hang-ups of many of the aforementioned donkeys who I want away from my club, especially Faes and Soumare). Lets hope we look back at this being a transitional period and not one that sees us transition into League 1 LOL. Loads of work lies ahead to get this bunch into a cohesive unit and I dont think Slot or Pep do much better with some of these.
  4. I really hope his body holds up over the years as he looks like a very talented central defender, and you can see why the prems vultures are ready to pounce.
  5. Out-sung all game. We need the home support to give us a boost.
  6. He is a bit all over the shop but he brings energy and pace. He did put two or three lovely little balls into the box but we are not blessed with either Championship class strikers nor attacking midfielders who can score a goal.
  7. I think he is doing the best we can get from a team full of players who wanted out.many not good enough and a few running down there contracts. Thank god we have some gems like Fatawu, Riccardo and Monga. The manager is decent with what he has at his disposal.
  8. I thought we were really good in the first half with neat incisive forward passes but with Ayew and Daka as our striking options and a loanee in Carranza we were always going to struggle for goals. We rely on the wingers and if they are not scoring we a buggered. Quite a few crosses went in and a 38yo Vardy would be better than the lot of theseby getting in position. Ayew works hard but isnot what this team needs. If we can somehow stay within 6-8 points of automatic come January and actually spend on a decent striker we will go up. Faes defending BTW, if my team mates did that during Sunday league they would be hammered. Faes made that lads run look like Messi in his pomp the clown.
  9. The bloke is 34 next week, I fear it may be a tad too late to teach him how to pass the ball and when. There were a few times hegot into half decent positions and there was an attacking pass on but he decided to try a dribble or delay things. The other week he was shooting from 30 yards when there were better options for him. He wasnt a disaster today as he did some good things including in defensive positions but we need to have wingers and midfielders who can score and assist in addition to the critical striker position. I am happy with the wingers but cant see where the goals come from midfield and up front at the moment.
  10. Im so glad those around him (and maybe the lad himself) decided to stay with us. I was almost certain we would lose him towards the end of last season and he would be another Trey Nyoni, being lured by one of the big clubs. He will give plenty of right backs sleepless nights over the next few years.
  11. Prem class and looks like real good fun and loving life. Im sure a prem club or 2 will be in with a 40m plus bid to try to tempt us but I reckon we hold firm and give us at least one more season. With Page, Fatawu and Monga and some other players from the youth set-up looking to break through, it could be a bit of a golden generation for us.
  12. Really good tonight like most of the defensive unit.
  13. Early days for the boss, but already his impact can be seen. The more he gets to work with those who want to play for the shirt, the more he brings his own players in to add to what we have the better. Im loving him giving the youngsters a proper go as well. 10/10 gaffer!!!!
  14. I must admit I didnt think he had that tenacity and energy in him. Well done to the manager for trusting in him, hopefully he continues to repay us.
  15. Fair play, bossed it today. Its no surprise as he is capable, but we need to see this 7 or 8 times in the next 10 games and not 1 or 2.
  16. I've probably missed a few out, but its strange to see that the team below along with the subs further down did not start today's match. I know "minor knocks" is an excuse to omit players who may be transferred with the 7 I've put in Bold every chance of leaving but the squad on paper must be good enough to win a very poor Championship this season. Lets see how many of these lot are left and how many come in over the next week or so! Begovic Justin - Faes - Nelson - Kristensen Riccardo - Winks - Braybrooke - Mavididi Bilal Daka (Coulibaly - Souttar - Aluko- Cordova Reid - Golding - Alves - Marcal - Silko - Evans - )
  17. He seemed to do OK at Sheff U at RB on loan. I like him in CM but he has a bad habit of playing with no confidence for us and passing it backwards when in midfield or even dropping so deep, lining up with the central defenders. His positional sense is so dodgy for a player that could be so much better
  18. That one save today was different class. As much as Mads was class for us pre-injury, I always was quite relaxed if we had to sell one player and it was Mads because of the ability of Jacub. My only problem with him is he reminds me for some reason of a younger Justin Rose LOL. Otherwise, I think he will do well for us but he needs some help from the defenders we have too.
  19. Get him out of the club quickly so we can move on. 10m plus please.
  20. Time to pull him out of my Fantasy Dream team thingy FFS! He doesnt look like the player we had before his injury. The commentators were talking about him feeling down after his relegation with us but I reckon thats major BS. He would have been a happy bugger with his new salary, moving to London with his chunky signing on fee. I cant see him being depressed at the transfer as the pundits described the muppets. Hopefully he regains his form, he was class for us for 18 months.
  21. Some of his suitors must know something I dont. I would have been satisfies with £5-6m never mind double that. LOL at those who want to find a negative in everything now moaning about the structure of the money!! Hilarious! Its a great deal, even if it was done by the hated Rudkin!
  22. There are plenty of examples "smaller clubs" having a system in place to recruit well and better themselves every season. In fact, before I start rolling out clubs names we might as well start with our own. We had some real donkey signings but selling one top player a season for silly money seemed to work for us. We were selling high and buying cheap. Brighton do something similar (we both love selling to Chelsea LOL) but there is no respite when it comes to the pressure on recruitment. Also, if it wasn't for that horrible day when Vichai passed, I genuinely believe we would have been top 6-8 regulars and occasional Champions League entrants. We came close a couple of times after our Prem win but you feel the club as we knew it had a downturn from that moment. With all due respect to Top, he hasn't led us as his dad would have done. I still feel you can mix it with the big boys, but you have to get 90-95% things right (and be a bit lucky) and hope that others around you fail.
  23. Great argument, which part was BS? I suppose you thought his team selections and tactics were Tops fault LOL Another great argument, there wasnt much fun reading the hatred towards Cooper and the excitement when RVN arrived. What RVN did, breaking all sorts of records for the wrong reasons is quite scary when you read it. A couple of wins against Southampton and Ipswich wont mask his horrendous record.
  24. I think he is the perfect fit. I believe some of the issues with our fan base is their minds seem to go back to the team that won the league or the squad that was challenging for Champions League every season (and won the FA Cup). We are nowhere near that level anymore so we should limit our expectations. I think we need some Prem experience, a solid manager and as much as Dyche would not be my choice if we were financially stable or a prem club already, I think he could get us there which we are desperate to see for financial reasons. I fear the worst if we dont go up, especially with a points deduction around the corner. It may be attritional football but I just want to go up first and worry about the rest later.
  25. So many in here were foaming at the mouth at Steve Cooper and were begging for his sacking, and when this messiah came in many of the same faces were talking about what an excellent appointment RVN was. He was a shambles for us and to me virtually any other manager (linked to us over the last 12 months) would have kept us up. Shockingly the hatred has gone to the owner instead when RVN should have had all the shite thrown at him. His tactics were horrible, his team selections even worse, his motivation non-existent and he walked around like he was looking forward to his pay day. There was zero fight from him. The fact he waited so long to blood some youngsters and carried on playing players who wanted out like Soumare and Kristensen who spent much of there careers at our club on loan typifies how clueless this bloke is. He made Maresca look like Sir Alex Good riddance to the worst manager in our history.
