  1. Anyway mate, I hope your right, not me. Would be a brilliant outcome. Life is a journey!
  2. You maybe right . But to be a runaway leader, we'd need a competitive advantage which I can't see us having I'm afraid.
  3. I think annihilating the championship is a pipe dream. Its a gruelling, competitive, physical league. We are also going to be a scalp for everyone we play. To annihilate the league, we'd need a deep, premier league quality squad and a very good manager. That's a big ask to expect us to sort this in 3 months.
  4. It'll be great to stay up but not joyous. So no invasion for me. There's also a deep sense of we could well be here next season too, there's so much to sort out, and every year it gets harder in the PL.
  5. The bookies would have this as everton staying up. Most of us would too. But this is football and the permutations we need are quite capable of happening. Its great to have an opportunity at least. Its such ashame we didn't beat Everton a few weeks back and be in driving seat though.
  6. You can't say we've been raided. We've sold sustainably. An asset here and asset there. And we have spent. Not colossal sums. But we've spent okish. Rodgers should have gone a couple of years ago. We should be a middle of the road PL team. You can say thank you for the good times, and analyse and philosophise till the cows come home, but this is an epic case of mismanagement. You can see why, a son of a self made billionaire, is not a self made billionaire. And bad luck for us we had/have a lot of over promoted people below him from Rodgers up, without scrutiny. And the fans have every right to be full of anger. This won't be resolved with one season in the championship.
  7. Unless Mendy and Kelechi both play and play well, we are getting nothing. As if we just dish out what we have been , we are done for.
  8. Well in that it gave rodgers more credit and made issues appear less.
  9. John your bang on. Those wins gave us a disservice.
  10. Im sure its been written before here, and it's no consolation ,but I think this would have happened next season if we had managed to scrape to safety. It's inevitable due to chronic mismanagement. I don't think we will come back up in 23/24, there's too much to sort out. The positives are we have a great brand now and if sold, very desirable. I hope new owners, ideas and investment come in. What's the point of Top staying he doesn't have the interest and he's just looking at massive reinvestment to get us back up.
  11. Poor bastard. He deserves a move. A swansong somewhere decent. Love Barcelona like Larssen. Never happen.
  12. Poor tactics, selection and motivation are laid at the door of him. I can't believe it would be this bad under big Sam, Hodgson, Pearson or one of the other names that would have been available at some point. But for me the minute Nacho got injured against Wolves I think, we blew our chance.
  13. Yes compared to Big Sam. Hopefully the other two are more Churchillian. Although JT looks like he can't put a sentence together.
  14. Smith's press conference does not fill me with any confidence .
  15. Im dreaming not hoping.
  16. Mate, I think your right. I'm still stupidly hoping for a miracle and we stay up before i can properly focus on the Championship. One BIG problem we have is Soton will get in good players, they have a knack. And Leeds will spend like money is no object. So if logic holds, that's a lot of teams fighting for 1 place.
  17. What I meant is if they are offering to back substantial investment in the team, the job becomes a fantastic opportunity for a great deal of candidates.
  18. We could get a great manager if the board are serious about getting back up and give him £100m to spend etc. They won't though.
  19. Yes it's not going to be a defacto reset just because we get relegated.
  20. If there's one silver lining, i think we'd have gone down next season, unless we'd recruited a really brilliant manager and many good players. That's not easy to do. Even less so when the Board are so weak. It's not a silver lining, but it makes things a little easier to take. Rodgers should have gone 2 seasons ago give or take. Anyone looking at things clearly could see he was a shower. We were at a crossroads then and we went the wrong way. By giving him more time, he's just made decision after decision to compound things and its just too late now. The best thing would be for Top to sell the club to some bright , well resourced people with new ideas and energy.
  21. It's because he's so diminutive. There's no other logical reason not to play him. It's not logical to me but it's my only conclusion of what the management must think.
  22. To be honest I'm amazed we have 30 points.
  23. Per bbc he's not in the squad !
  24. Stupid to not be playing Mendy or Kdh. The midfield are so lazy/unfit.
  25. I'd play Mendy although it won't happen. The midfield are being walked through at the moment. He will probably put Kdh in.
