Hypothetical New Ownership- Who Would You Like?
OntarioFox replied to niyaminski's topic in Leicester City Forum
Knowing our luck, we wouldn't even end up with that calibre of English businessman. We'll probably end up with the ghost of Clive Sinclair being channeled through a Ouija board by Rudkin. -

Never mind Septics, are there any Indian billionaires we could prise away from the cricket?

@Babylon nailed it. I stopped caring for the most part during the slow motion car crash that was 2021-2023 under Rodgers. I remember being there when Bergwijn scored Spuds' winner in the 97th and just bursting out laughing as people around me lost their shit. Even at that point, I think Rodgers had broken me, and that was the year before relegation. It was so, so predictable. I still love the craic of matchday, but I think I lost my connection to the club and team before the inevitable relegation that those of us who didn't take the Ostrich rant as an instruction could see coming even as we were being patronised from all quarters as 'too good to go down'. There were bright sparks last season, sure - young guns like McAteer coming through, Fatawu's energy, Vardy's renaissance, some actual scenes in away ends for a change - but the whole thing had an air of a gap year. Even then, we almost managed to cock it up and were just a single point off surrendering what had seemed an inevitable title to a side we'd been two divisions apart from the year before. We coasted and, as people will remember, had a rotten patch of form that led to the ugly undercurrent resurfacing in the stands. There's a small part of me hoping Cooper makes a success of it, because his connection to the fans and passion on the touchline was obvious at Forest - reminded me a bit of us under Nigel. I yearn for those days, when I felt a connection to the squad and manager. But on the flipside, it would validate the decision-making of the aloof, tone-deaf, devoid-of-ideas board we're stuck with. I'm looking forward to Matchday for the pub and seeing friends again after three months that have felt like three years. I have absolutely zero expectation, or indeed enthusiasm, for anything that happens inside the ground. I expect ugly scenes at times, and to ultimately be back in the second tier come May. But who knows?

The best bit is, they can just pay for a bunch of blue tick pricks to agree with every decision and let Xitter do the rest by burying everyone else's replies.

Almost caused a pitch invasion at Sheff Utd in the cup though

Tottenham (H) - Mon 19 Aug 8pm - Pre-Match Thread
OntarioFox replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
Missing the matchday ritual more than I'm actually looking forward to anything on the pitch. The miserable preparations have made it seem far longer than usual since we last kicked a ball competitively. I guess we enter this season with such low expectations that I'm going to be pleasantly surprised with any positives I see. Going to be optimistic and say that we score a goal in a 1-3 defeat. IDGAF who scores it. -
Are any clubs flogging to Saudi Arabia still, or has that five minutes trend come to an end? Surely someone here can slap some Arabic subtitles on that highlights reel and see what happens.

It'll still never top Paul Konchesky suddenly having hair one year. The man looked like a chicken breast before. -

Early days yet and can't make a judgement against a team on Derby's level, but Blackburn are going to do alright for goals at this level with both Szmodics and Weimann in the team. Time for the former to get snapped up by a prem team, mind you. -
What are you smoking, Trialist G was absolutely wank against Augsburg

Concerns about the direction of the club
OntarioFox replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
Scenes when they bring it back without consulting the fanbase, the club play it as we pull one back to make it 1-4 against Spurs, and VAR chalks it off for being a dick-hair offside. -
Amazing how these melts crawl out of the woodwork when they don't have the footy to distract them. I don't think it's talked about enough how the game is a pressure valve for the dregs of society. I guarantee this would not be happening on this scale had the tragic events happened any other time of the year, even earlier in the summer while the Euros was on. They just want an excuse to get hammered and coked up then cause some trouble, and in this case they've had to go nearly a month without an excuse to do so. I guess you could point to the Euros final in 2021 as a counterpoint that football encourages rather than prevents this sort of thing, but that was the culmination of 18 months of lockdowns, which if anything further proves the point. Even with almost nothing to look forward to on the pitch, I'm absolutely itching to get the matchday ritual back after what's felt like an unusually long summer. If not having LCFC being shit as a once/twice weekly distraction is affecting me this much, who knows what it's doing to Deano the Racist?

Considering this is the standard of opposition he faced in the Austrian league, Daka still looks like a competition winner -

Glad Kristiansen is back in the fold, after the season he had it's a bit of a planets aligning moment that his position is going to be needed under Cooper. Also hilarious that this is on Mexican TV but we're expected to pay through the nose for it. Clown club. -

What are your expectations for next season?
OntarioFox replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
Bite your hand off for 17th right now. To be honest the appalling way we're being run behind-the-scenes has Cooper on a hiding to nothing, so all I really hope for is to be entertained more this season than I have been since we were first subjected to possession-for-the-sake-of-it footy, from Puel through to Enzo. We've had seven years of it now, and with a few rare outliers the only times we've genuinely torn teams apart has been when we abanadoned the stupid philosophy and played a more direct or counter-attacking game, often against the wishes of the manager at the time. I'm cautiously optimistic that we're going to see some more entertaining football at least, but won't be angry if we don't stay up this time around. Any delusions of us being a "top six club" should have been blasted out of peoples' skulls by now, we've blown any legacy the title win / FA Cup triumph should have propelled us toward, through appalling mismanagement on and off the pitch since 2021. -
I've been stuck on a particularly shit shift all day, just got off and this is the first thing I hear. Puts my petty issues into perspective. Absolutely gutting, it's only been just over a year since he was last with us too. ðŸ˜

Top told Rudkin to make the pre-season 'in spire' and this was the predictable result
