  1. I was an urban lad, and loved it at the time. Born and brought up on Matthews between the 60's and the 90's, now I come in from the county and the age to match!! Fit the demographic!!
  2. This Man City fan seems to have some anger issues to me? I don't remember Man City being particularly "big time" during this period, 4 relegations, 1 season in Div 3. Oh yeah, didn't we win 2 trophies between 1971 and 2000, didn't they win 1?? I like to read a good football book, maybe he should,: Richer Than God: Manchester City, Modern Football and Growing Up - "Collapse when it came at the end of the 1970's was self-inflicted, and then the decades passed, mostly in the gloom and several shades of cock-up..........City, of all clubs, are now, suddenly, the club with the richest owner". Oh yeah there is also a chapter called Abu Dhabi United!! Ditto Billionaires Club - James Montague Talking of FPP: Aston Villa, Birmingham C, Bournemouth, Derby, QPR, Sheff Wed etc. the list goes on. Maybe he also forgot or missed this in Nov: Manchester City have failed in an initial bid to have the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) halt Uefa's investigation into a possible breach of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. Maybe he thinks the title is tainted because we did at job on them at the Etihad in Feb 16. Obviously letting his emotions get in the way of the facts!!!
  3. To be fair as a season ticket holder without 300pts and now trying to go to a lot of away games, the moves for TV especially away, actually means that I can go to a lot of away games and now get close to 300pts!! Additionally we keeping getting positive results away from home, so its a pleasure to go and see us win and the crap drive back form Everton where they close every road south isn't so bad!! And we are a great team to watch at the moment!! My lad and I have been to about 15-20 away games over the last 3 seasons and the only time he has seen us lose was Wolves in the League last year and we nearly got a draw there!! So they are all great trips.
  4. Not agreeing with Sky in anyway, but interesting that the seasons we do really well in the League is the seasons the "big boys" drop the ball. Though United and Arsenal have been pants for a few seasons now and don't we all just love it, and getting worse as each season goes by. Nothing would be better than turning United over in the Carabao Cup final to ensure they don't make Europe either, now that would be funny!! And Maguire of course. I told my lad 4 years ago we will never be in the Champions League again - ever!!!! What do I know. The best of times indeed and what a team.
  5. While we are talking about things that go up, phnarr phnarr, oeerrr missus....... Will the development team be playing their matches here now rather than Holmes Park?
  6. So based on 10% perhaps, will it go to All STH's?? I went to Everton and as Villa is close for a school night, wanted to go over and see us reach a final again and who did we beat the last time we reached a League Cup final??? Missed the last 2 as I was back packing, my missus saw the Sunderland game (99) on a TV in Airlie Beach whilst I was in the pool and she didn't even tell me!!! And she doesn't like football much.
  7. Bit of a rollercoaster, played really well to go 2-0 up & in control, Maddison's goal was excellent technically and we looked comfortable till Davies scored. But Everton looked much worse than down here a few weeks back. Sadly Baines goal was out of the "blue". Peno's thought it had gone but Kasper was great (though am feeling for Danny Ward, he's a decent keeper, did a great job at Wolves in the LC in Sept 18), but pleasantly surprised when Demarai and Chilwell nailed it and Vards wrapped it up. Praet, quality and Wilf and Maddison were excellent in midfield. Not a done deal but by far the best draw for us when we probably had the hardest quarter final, Liverpool were always likely to play the kids. Fingers crossed a trip to Wembleee and over 90 mins on their day that team can beat anyone if it clicks!!! A great trip, been there 3 times over the last few years including the Musa cup show and we keep getting results!!
  8. Just wondered how do we get to 6,000 as Liverpool were given 4,500 for Tuesday?
  9. The big fear was if Vardy got injured we had no back up, now both Perez and Nacho can cover. You have to say that if Brendan has been instrumental in this improvement he has earned the contract pay rise he got last week.
  10. Yep with our defence and Wilf, not many teams score 2 against us, hence we should always be in it so 1 or 2 goals for us does the job currently. Came from behind to beat Burnley I believe. Yep Palace and Brighton spot on, I was there, Palace we controlled it and Brighton gave Ryan MOM, strange choice as we beat them 2-0, but shows who did the most work on the day. I get the impression Brendan just doesn't change starting line ups from his preferred 11, this will be tougher, he might change for Norwich at home or the cup, but he will want to win this but will know it won't be easy.
  11. Yeah to add to worth_the_wait, the last 2 games we actually haven't been really on it, against Everton and Watford it was hard work till the goal, we didn't get a shedload of chances early doors against Watford, we were just a bit flatter in both games and after 15-20 mins if the games settles down to Cags to Evans, Evans to Cags that translates to the fans. Lets see what we have on the 26th IF we can beat Villa and Norwich and getting something at the Etihad or Liverpool are closer than 8. Luckily I can get to some away games, that makes up for it on the atmosphere front, Palace was good and Brighton OK too, especially when we got the retaken penalty. We have this pattern now it seems keep it tight 1st half, score 2nd, normally two. Its like the title winning run when we won 4 or 5 games in a row in Feb/March 1-0, this time putting it to bed with a 2nd, though many of the 2nds are late. Think the fans know its a stretch to bridge the gap to Liverpool currently I think if it was closer maybe 3-4 pts they would be much more engaged a la 15/16, Bournemouth H, Norwich H, West Ham H etc. Hopefully they will enjoy "their" team, winning lots of games, playing great football, with some very very good players all playing well almost all the time, e.g. Cags, Evans, Riccy, Maddison, Tielemans, Ndidi, Vardy and Champions League football (amazing!!) again is the prize, if they can keep it together. Lets hope the fans realise they can help them get there. PS Anfield was a library!!! And they won 2-1. And Watford bought a minibus Weds, that is not going to get a home fans reaction.
  12. Sadly for them if they legged it early, they have missed 2 goals at end of games now that won the matches!!! Maybe we need some 65m bars!! Spurs aren't setting the league pace but they are setting the fan experience pace! http://new-stadium.tottenhamhotspur.com/season-tickets/our-feature-bars/home/
  13. Aren't they all just a little bit tiring on top of the last 3 years fiasco's We don't believe a word any of them say and they don't stick to anything they say they will do. I have never known an election where so many people I know, don't know who to vote for because they don't trust Johnson or Corbyn, but are not sure what a vote for the Libs or even the Green's is worth, though some of what they say has merit. Just think there is something wrong with destroying the ballot paper!! Do we really really think those 650 in there and going to be in there, really sit there thinking all the time how can I best represent the people that voted for me OR once in - what is the best job I can get in here, or the most exposure etc. Its sad, worrying, depressing at a massive point in our early 21st century history. Anyway hopefully the result tonight will perk me up!!
  14. Get the points up!!! Didn't know it would be for the CL final. Newcastle away on New years day could be vital!! 2021 capacity is 68,000 same as Madrid this year and they got 17,000 each for this year!! Great post Boots60
  15. What do people think about this going to all STH's?? 2pm Sunday on the TV, I have checked the trains and its a real struggle, so coach or car or overnight probably. About the same allocation as Palace Palace - SOLD OUT (Fox Members) - *moved to a Sunday/reduced allocation of 2,342. Want to see big Wes score again in the 90th minute to win the game!!!
  16. Spot on, Sunday for whatever reason we were a bit flat, over the whole game the better side, but we lacked energy and Cags had his worst game of the season that I have been to, though still made a few good blocks. Points are in the bag just as Liverpool have been doing and Utd used to back in the day. Lets right the ship tonight, and hopefully beat Villa, Norwich and Everton away and go to the Emirates and Boxing Day comfortably in the top 3, with maybe a chance Liverpool have slipped up somewhere and a cup semi final hopefully vs Man Utd or Villa!!
  17. I am not going to criticise anybody for leaving early as everybody has their own reasons and circumstances. The bigger shame is probably for the fans themselves, as you're only watching the match for 95-100mins in total anyway and in the ground 2hrs, go 5 or 10 mins early and you will miss goals, important action etc. Maybe the trick is to start heading slowly down at 90 mins, that way you are in front of the bowwave but still see most of or all the action. Then again I see loads of people heading off to the toilets and bar/food between 35 & 40 mins in the 1st half. Just seems strange psychology to invest a lot of cash in going, the day itself and then in the end miss the final result, or a crucial end of game moment by going after 80 mins. I live in the county now so would be as keen as anybody to not be stuck on the stairs and outside the ground waiting for fans to get going. Sadly on Sunday they missed the chance to celebrate mentally twice!!!
  18. I thought it was fine, watched 1st 45 mins of Palace and then most of Man City. My internet recently has been a bit up and down, so was slightly concerned but actually aside from delay vs live was fine. Bit of a shame we're on the same night as the Merseyside Derby and Jose's return, they would be worth watching, but at the the KP tonight and then you can't watch the other games till midnight, so might as well watch MOTD. Be interesting to see how the Watford players react tonight, an early goal for us might ensure they drop the effort, and we can win comfortably, be brilliant to win the next 4 games, tough but doable. Let's hope Everton can get something, Liverpool have been creaking of late, sadly they have an easier December than us on paper, aside from the fixture congestion. But it's not played on paper is it!!
  19. You have to wonder based on this who has 10 men?
  20. Liverpool have fallen over the line in so many games this season, half would say that's how you win titles and that's true, half would say that has to catch up with you at some point. Also they just aren't as good at the back as last season, 2 clean sheets so far in the League. Do believe they will drop points in December. If we have any chance we HAVE to turn them over down here on Boxing Day and in the meantime pick up 10-12 pts in the next 4 games ideally. Think Liverpool and Man C are more vulnerable this year than last. Let's take advantage and apply some pressure, a number of the squad have been in a title race and WON!!!
  21. Nearly 700 tickets + 2 blocks left to open Will come down to how the club want to sell it, i.e. send to general sale or not
  22. As a big NBA fan, luckily I work for an American company so very occasionally go to the States, so went to see The Hawks play the Knicks in Feb and on Tuesday this week saw the Pacers beat a poor Grizzlies team. Strange thing was both games were really empty, though you watch games on TV and they always looked packed. The Hawks game even had the benefit of half time with Robin S, Crystal Waters and Jimmy Carter getting some award!! Still not enough to entice them in!!! Pacers look a decent enough side, so look like they will make the play offs, though its a 3 horse race in the east Methinks, Bucks, Celtics and Raptors.
  23. I think we have to respect everybody we play in the Premier League, Brighton, Arsenal and Palace all had decent chances before we scored, once we did we looked likely to, and did win. BUT sometimes the stats just don't lie, only 6 teams have scored against us in 13 games, only 1 team twice. They have scored 13 goals in 13 games. And conceded 20. At worst a draw, ideally a win. We should be seriously looking for 10-12pts before the Monster Christmas week and a place in the Carabao Cup semi finals!!! C'Mon You Foxes!
  24. There is a Sports Quiz taking place at the Ale Wagon, Rutland Street, Leicester, Monday 2nd Dec 2019 7.45pm for an 8pm start Teams of 4, £2 to enter per person, likely monies to the 1st 3 teams We're looking for some new blood, we have 6 teams entered at the moment, would be great to get a few more. Football plays a part of course, but if you like Cricket, Tennis, Boxing, Darts, Snooker, Golf, Rugby etc there will be something for you to answer questions on and win a small amount of money!!
