  1. That airspace is known to be highly congested and the need for security around DC makes it doubly challenging, but commercial pilots who fly in and out of Reagan National are given very specific flight paths, so there’s really no deviation on their end. Probably not too dissimilar from London City Airport.
  2. My version of “Tielemans is on my plane” Presently at a hockey game, and a bunch of local team mascots are here. The NY Red Bulls mascot sat down next to me, and as I asked who they’re signing on loan from the EPL, he formed “TW” with his hands. I asked him about Daka, and he scratched his head.
  3. Could be right. There’s a player listed as “2024,” but I’ve seen elsewhere that he’s on a full year loan into 2025. Wikipedia firing on all cylinders…
  4. Scratching my head, not because of merit, but because of MLS rules. MLS teams are permitted a max of 3 designated players (aka big money signings whose wages fall outside the MLS salary cap). Messi, Zaha (on loan) and Benteke are examples of other current designated players. Red Bulls look to already have 3 such players on their roster. There’s certainly ways around it, but it would make the deal more complex to pull off.
  5. I’ve seen such a dance before…
  6. Garbage weather here in Philly area today. Not expecting a ton of explosive plays through the air. Second game should be a blast, wind chills in Buffalo could be -10C or lower by the end of the game.
  7. Never seen them overturn a scrum on replay review…some awful things go on at the bottom of the pile. Go Birds!
  8. Don’t mind the PL ref getting some of these soft fouls go, Spurs not sure what to do with some of the physical play.
  9. Tamworth using their comfort on the artificial turf pitch with the bounce of the ball to their advantage. Or is Timo’s first touch really that bad? …or, maybe both are true?
  10. Net was hanging low, Tamworth players on each other’s shoulders to tape it up. Ange just having some fun to pass the time.
  11. Credit to Ange, strong lineup and enjoying the occasion. Encouraging the home fans to keep up the banter while they fixed the net was nice to see.
  12. Graphics team firing on all cylinders for the Tamworth match.
  13. Not even close to the ball, wow
  14. Some kind of first half on FoxesTalk
  15. great individual effort
  16. Anyone else with ESPN+ having to restart their stream? Slows to a crawl after a few minutes
  17. Can’t decide if I’m laughing because it would be brilliant, or if it’s because I’m thinking of all the failed rocket launch videos and the parallels with how it would look on the pitch.
  18. His whole Nutcracker Suite excellent, but this is my favorite.
  19. College soccer is a blip on the sports radar over here, but this is a pretty cool story. University of Vermont won the NCAA Division 1 Championship last night on a golden goal. Beat the #2 and #3 seeded teams to make the finals, and won the championship.
  20. Not much reporting about it, but it’s out there. Here’s a good (if not long) breakdown on all the NJ sightings and government response. Suffice to say, our state doesn’t have the best track record of handling mass hysteria from above.
  21. It’s all that people are talking about here, but the reactions are intensifying into more and more outlandish takes. I’ve been sent videos from friends that look and sound like commercial aircraft over their houses. Though I haven’t seen anything myself, commercial flights aren’t being impacted, and pilots don’t seem bothered. Deductive reasoning says that the government likely knows what it is, and it’s likely something of their own creation that’s being tested. We live 5 minutes from an AEGIS combat systems development/test site. If they’re not worried, I can’t be bothered.
