Robert Huth appointed Loans Manager
DoveValleyFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
News reports are coming in of a bloke fitting Toure's description being chased towards the A50 by an angry, tall blond man monster shouting threats in German. -
No it was the end of January 1981. I did go to the later Boxing Day game. Same result but that one felt more comfortable.

Top in an interview in 2025:- " Brendan, John (Rudkin), Susan (Whelan) and a few of my player's agents told me that we would be in the Champions League every year so I gave them all big pay rises and long contracts. This seemed the only option, otherwise they'd all leave and we might get relegated as our recruitment hadn't been up to much recently. Then I took out more loans because it all made perfect sense. After all, how can things ever go wrong after I'd taken out other huge loans to pay for that big health complex that used to be the training facilities. Even now I don't understand what went wrong. Maybe I shouldn't have promised Brendan a job for life when he called me down to hold the FA Cup on the Wembley pitch. It seemed like a good idea at the time."

Winning 2-1 away at Liverpool in 1981. This was an incredible win at the time. Then I had the pleasure of going into school the following Monday being all smug with the plastic Liverpool fans. It was an odd experience having teachers ask me about the game.

They still have a few " We're not even thinking about relegation" comments left in them yet.

Sorry matey. I have an ITK who says that Margot has just landed a movie role. It looks like it will be Dyche sitting on your face.

Vardy to put us 4-3 up vs Man U took the roof off. -
I'm not at all surprised by the 'nice lady but'.......comments and sentiments. Nor by the countless thinly disguised political statements in the so called tributes to Her Majesty. There are any number of possible short responses to them. I don't care. Have a public vote amongst the whole Commonwealth, including the UK and it can simply act as a referendum for all of the countries. Let King Charles III decide if he agrees and he'd have a nice cushy job being sovereign to 20-30 million. Rest in Peace my Queen. Long live King Charles III.

Orrrr... Writing down the fan's seat numbers so that he can personally write to them demanding more support.

There's losing and losing the Brendan way. It makes it feel like a fourth option.

Falling out of love with football.
DoveValleyFox replied to weller54's topic in Leicester City Forum
Rodgers and Puel football with their complete arrogance and inflexibility. Southgate's dull style and demeanour alongside his beloved spine of players. The superleague and the continued hypocrisy of UEFA and FIFA. The old boys network of pundits and the media. Having Women's football rammed into us and being expected to believe that it is every bit as good, and has the same financial and historic value as the men's game. Yes, I have fallen out of love with football. I will always love Leicester City but I have taken a step back in these last couple of seasons. -

Having her (character) in defence would be like us having Ali Mauchlen back in midfield.

I'm gonna fetch down me old Judas leaflet from the Briian Little days.

Given the apparent problem with the club throwing cash at players and agents, they have probably found themselves paying the set piece coach since their appointment. Then they eventually do materialise, try to implement something and Brendan just says "Nah, we're not doing that!"

I've no idea why I said right wing when Mahrez occupied that side. I watched him on it enough times. Silly me. I don't know my right from my left
-
He did for several games. Ranieri later said that Kante stayed quiet and just smiled when he asked where he wanted to play, so he tried him on the wing/right midfield. Ranieri soon sussed it, of course and we all know what happened from then on.

Nah. One game wonder

Do you think Top is looking to sell the Club
DoveValleyFox replied to holyfox's topic in Leicester City Forum
You are right, of course. I was being generous and naively hopeful of us still getting the stadium expansion started.
