I thought it was reported that Coady was one of Martins targets. I presume its gone quite once Coady worked out how much he was likely to get paid.

Has it really though? His first touch is woeful. He very, very rarely uses his pace to create opportunities (that West Ham goal is the exception), his physicality is poor and falls over frequently (sometimes with a humorous dive) and he rarely stands up to any challenge with a defender. His issue isn't only finishing, and somehow we seem to coached that out of him. And if he does end up on a half decent run ( you cannot dispute that period in the Championship where he almost had a goal contribution each game), his confidence get sapped the moment something doesn't go right. Leeds game in the Championship is a case in point - he never recovered from it that season, and has scored 1 goal since. The one thing i have niggling in the back of my mind, is if playing 2nd fiddle to Vardy for so long has had a major impact on him and at times i just felt he would always step sideways for him rather than compete for his spot. With Vardy out of the way, is there an opportunity for him to be handed the responsibility and run with it. I'm not sure.

Surely the Mads sale is needed just to make ends meet? If selling Mads means we keep BEK then thats one of the best investments we can make. We will need to be getting rid of the deadwood before buying yet another CB.

Chill - there is a game today. Seems the original fixture was changed a while ago but most sites continue to list it as cancelled. I don't think there is anything to complain about with our preseason so far.

We have no idea how Ruud approached it and how anything was discussed between the two parties. Like many, i have a hunch that Ruud was an especially poor man manager and the narrative could have been pushed a certain way. People are people at the end of the day and we know Winks had just become a father. Like anyone employed who has a situation like this, everyone deserves the right to clear the air with their employer and work out how to move forward.

Dyche bemoaning we didn't offer what Everton did is hilarious, and im glad our club aren't just paying the big bucks for the sake of it now. He was shocking towards the end of his run at Everton, and Moyes completely showed him up. If he thinks that even one of the fringe PL clubs that might be interested in him when they are in trouble will pay the same, then he might be out of the game for a while.

He was complicit in that horrible run of games we had without a goal. Too much trust with given to him, and he had lots of golden chances to score, many in very early phases of games. He is such a hero that when those chances dont go in, heads drop and he wasnt a good enough captain to raise everyones spirits. I hate myself for thinking that.
