He is the Ndidi 'busy dual no8' role. Regardless of if Ndidi leaves we will need reinforcement here as ndidi will be off for the month of Jan with Abdul, Daka and Kel.

I hate to be an old stick-in-the-mud. But it's ****ing 'Maths', not 'Math'.... How much Netflix are we watching that no one has immediately pointed this out.

I think today highlighted the need for an attacking mid with composure / through balls and a left side defender. If we happen to swap out a striker for another striker then great. Losing ndidi, iheanacho, fatawu and daka for 3 or 4 weeks is going to be massive so Jan transfer window is a biggie. I think the reason we aren't seeing akgun, macca and vardy is clearly "rest up til Jan lads"

Coady, Faes, and Vestergaard are all international CBs who have all played in a 3 in the Premier league, nations league, euros etc so Enzo should be able to trust them. It's only.if they get lax in their passing or concentration that they'll trip up against opponents like Millwall
-
Hermansen Choudhury Coady Vestergaard Justin Winks Fatawu Praet KDH Mavididi Daka Ricardo, Cannon, Ndidi, Akgun in the 2nd half. Faes gets a rest, Doyle a few mins if he is about ready?

The worst thing is its not fun to watch. That's table stakes. The style is boring even when we end up scoring 2 in last 30mins. I think this is based on a few factors. - The least fun players have the ball the most ie the goalie more than the attackers - It relies on risk free options. Fun comes from the unexpected and audacious. It relies on grinding down the opponent meaning goals come later more often than not. Wingers, no10s, Strikers are functional and not the heartbeat of the side. It rewards Rodri's and Winks' more than Messi's, Ronaldo's, Maddisons, Gazzas etc. Case in point. Look at Grealish at Villa and now at Man City. At Villa he was edge of the seat sort of player, beating people demanding the ball and getting people off their seats. At Man City he plays most of the time but never tries to beat a man and almost always takes the safe option. They win, but Grealish is boring to watch.

Let's have it straight. The tactics popularised by Pep, Enzo etc rely ENTIRELY on all YOUR players being of better quality than the opposition so you can spread all over the pitch and make it impossible for the opposition to keep their shape. If the tactics stay the same each game but are deployed by (any of): A left back with no left foot. Centre backs who aren't decisive in the pass CDMs with a 50/50 first touch Number 8s with no physicality, pace or quality on the ball A striker with no pace Then it just doesn't work and make it slow, a bit boring and easier for opposition to play against as the press will work way better. Its at that point that you question whether they are tactics at all or whether they are a thin facsimile of Man City which falls over whenever we don't play our absolute best XI (which man for man is better than all the other sides in a similar way Man City are superior to prem teams). Personally I have preferred the games I've seen of Leeds or Ipswich from a pure 'is it exciting' perspective this season. Hate to say it, but it's true. Effectiveness is one thing , but there are way too many people quite valid in saying, 'we win but it's ****ing boring'. Which is not what we want.

Hermansen - 4 gave the ball away and put people under pressure Vestergaard - 6 some good blocks, some shit passes Faes/Coady - 3 out of position and played like Boobies Justin - 4 not a left back and doing the equivalent of 'making a bad cup of tea so he doesn't get asked again' Winks - 3% pass completion rate, approximately. Ricardo - 4 gave the ball away about 10 x in the first half. Against a prem team we would have been 3 or 4 down. Fatawu - 6 some positive contributions and good finish, but still a work in progress. Not a set piece specialist it's fair to say Mavididi - 4 good cross for the goal, but when put under any pressure he shat himself. Looks less strong than he did at the start of the season. Any fullback watching ztoday will now try and lean on him, it seems to work. Ndidi - 7 looked like Pele compared to Casadei. Vardy 4 - if his wife is a grass, then it appears Jamie has been partaking of the pasture. McAteer 6 - no Jason Casadei 2 - arrivederci in January you googly eyed slow motion replay of a player Yunus - worse than Tete. Galatasary thought so, and it would appear so. Dewsbury Hall - looked like Bryan Robson compared to Yunus. Tom Cannon - apparently deceased.
-
got what we deserved here. casual, over confident, lazy at times. Enzo has his first real riot act to read. against a team with all able bodied players we'd have shipped 3 or 4 tonight.
-
Ricardo and Winks have STUNK tonight.
-
Mareasca not a happy bunny it seems. Yunus and Casadei are toast in January i think.
-
yeah. need 2 subs and we will win 4-0.

this is a terrible advert for league one, this.

From what I saw. Choudhury, Ricardo, Vestegaard, Hall competing for MOM Mavididi, Justin were struggling and are the ones i would be looking at to Improve or be swapped out. Vardy, Yunus looked really good when coming on Some good problems for Maresca coming up Team for Sheff Weds Hermansen Choudhury Faes Coady Justin Winks Fatawu Praet Choudhury Yunus Cannon -
Saw the last 30mins. We were all over a team that's been doing well recently.
-
None of the strikers are scoring with no support. Maybe Vardy off Cannon and sacrifice ndidi or Choudhury. Hermansen Faes Vest Coady Ndidi Ricardo McAteer KDH Mavididi Vardy Cannon
-
Any streams that someone could DM?
-
Not quick enough passing. Needs to ring the changes. Yunus, Fatawu Cannon at half time
-
Hamza will be taking no prisoners today. Hermansen Ricardo Faes Coady Justin Choudhury Fatawu KDH Yunus Mavididi Cannon
-
He's got to start playing £10m signing Coady at some point you'd have thought right?
-
In 2022/23 We made the decision not to sign players and not to renew contracts based on staying within FFP. That was a factor in the disintegration of our squad, not signing players like Lookman and others targets, and not offering bigger contracts to certain players. Everton didn't cut as deep and stay within the numbers allowed, so they definitely gained points across the season they wouldn't have had if they didn't cheat. Based on that i think we are within our rights to say we would still be in the premier league if they hadn't cheated.
-
sounds like we are doing ok to me
-
if we win away today won't it be a club record and we'll be 11 points clear of 3rd place? i'll take it
-
i haven't. he hasn't played directly up against a really good striker in 15 games.
