Agree to disagree. Emery, Iraola and Glasner are coaches that would have been obtainable when paying Rodgers his obscene wages. I’d consider them better coaches and less hideous human beings.

Is he though? I think that his record proves that he starts well at clubs (some could say taking over from others) and it sours pretty quickly. The squad that Puel/Macia were putting together was going to perform at a very good level, whoever was in charge IMO.

Come January/February, will any of these stats improve with so many of our “starting 11” leaving in the summer? Not that we’ll miss any of our underperforming strikers but all three are leaving in the summer. Winks/Soumare are our 1st and 3rd choice CM’s and leaving. Our mis-management at senior level wouldn’t be accepted in any other industry. .

I think it’s not too harsh on saying that regardless of squad quality that Enzo is likely a better coach/manager than Marti too. Enzo is likely too stubborn to reach his potential but there is a reason he’s at a club like Chelsea, whilst we’re Marti’s biggest club to date. One thing that doesn’t get mentioned enough is how little improvement of a single player that Cooper, Ruud or now Marti have seen under their stewardship. How often would you hear about Enzo (particularly in the many international breaks) working with Stephy/Abdul and seeing the results in flashes during matches. Our squad is worse but our acceptance of any obvious coaching shouldn’t be underestimated.

He’s wanted out every window, if you’re on LinkedIn look for his agents post a while back (bizarrely after a defeat against Everton, if memory serves me correctly). Aluko hasn’t had a sniff which is criminal. Page was played to make the lad sign and whilst Winks was sulking like a little child. Alves and Nelson who actually have Championship experience, were deemed not needed or “training well” yet not making the squad. Marti’s treatment of the academy here is not a positive.

Marti’s is like every other manager, knows the right things to say to the media after a dreadful performance. Yet, I can predict Saturday, we start front footed with a couple of long range shots outside the box as we don’t create clear cut chances, all before Millwall counter (likely from a mistake) and they take the lead within the first 15 minutes.

For the depressed version of me this morning, if you started the countdown on the day he signed, how long would it be?

When will our clueless owners fluke another good managerial appointment? Marti is exactly like Cooper and Ruud. He has shown zero ability at tactically outclassing the opposition, he sets his boring and dare I say it, overweight/unfit team up in the same way. There’s a reason that he’s never managed above QPR’s level before.
