  1. Hmm, apparently Susan Whelan thought 116% wages to turnover was acceptable. And Vichai’s luck would have likely run out. We might not be on the brink of League 1 but I think we’d be struggling.
  2. I mean I would interpret it more as generational talents (plural) in the context of Leicester City. Which could be a fair assessment. Generational in the context of wider football? No.
  3. I wouldn’t rule out us managing to get relegated by enough that it isn’t ultimately down to that you know. I fancy West Brom to pick up wins in their next 2, Charlton only turned it on when they came to the KP and got soundly beaten by Portsmouth and Oxford work hard but are poor. Blackburn have a relatively straight forward home game against Bristol City and we will get beaten at Middlesbrough. By the weekend, we could be adrift by by 6 points just by results going as you’d expect with no surprises.
  4. I’d be inclined to keep him regardless next season. He’ll be a level above in L1. No doubt he will shoulder the blame for our relegation to shield those really responsible and be released….
  5. Yep. And let’s be clear, Rowett might be a good firefighter. But he can’t be expected to be a miracle worker. He needs something to work with and defensively, we have nothing to work with. West Brom can sleep easy as they will be staying up. Along with Blackburn and Portsmouth.
  6. He has taken a long throw from the right side, we hit the bar from that and it move out to our left. Cross came back in and he found himself there and obviously hit the post. We should have scored from that passage of play.
  7. I’m not sure a guy in Man City’s youth team and has been part of their fist team squad is really a ‘find’.
  8. We will go there on Tuesday and ship 3 at least.
  9. Just confirms we are down for me. I can’t believe how many people are getting excited that we scraped a draw with Stoke B team (10 out injured). Oxford have fought draws out at Coventry and Middlesbrough. Portsmouth have won comfortably away at Charlton and Millwall. Blackburn away at QPR at against play off pushing Preston. We are getting more cut adrift by the day, every time we or a relegation rival play. West Brom losing is the only positive. Our attacking output is fine. But we are conceding minimum 2 goals per game. Having to score at least 2 for a draw and at least 3 to win a game is a hopeless situation to be in. Not on Rowett. He has been brought in too late with the damage done. No doubt he will be the human shield for those responsible and be blamed but it’s not on him.
  10. Not bad if Fatawu is injured. But disheartening that we have a 2 goal handicap with Ricardo and Begovic.
  11. I hope you do win as we are pretty stuffed if you don’t. I imagine there’d be many Cov fans who’d forego a result today for that reason to be fair!
  12. It’s not even 3 clean sheets. They have 7 as I had put above. But yeah, even it is was 3, direction is important like you say and 2 in the last 3 shows they are grinding them out.
  13. Wasn’t a dig at your lot. I just think West Brom will grind out a draw today as we are now at that phase where all results are going against us to add to our own incapacity to pick up results.
  14. Not things I was aware of! Even worse then. Even if the donations were forthcoming and more willingly given, I still think it is overplayed all these years on. A nice gesture related to wealth. As for the trophy lift, where is this information from? Surely not! Always been a lack of respect for the club. They were lucky we had the success we did (thanks to others such as Pearson and co and Ranieri) as otherwise they’d have had nowhere to hide.
  15. I have just looked at West Brom’s results and they have 7 clean sheets (more than double ours) so unsure where 3 has come from. Probably worth checking before correcting someone else And 2 of those are in the last 3 games which shows recency in grinding them out.
  16. Don’t even! I was talking to a Sheff Weds fan at work and was telling him all the crap they have pulled. Hogging the trophy in 2016, picture of the Thai king, removing references to our past in the stadium, the Thailand/Cambodia nonsense on the big screens, influencers on the pitch and in the parade in 2024. He said that sounds Chansiri all over. Apparently they had a silence when someone important in Thailand passed away! And lots of this was under Vichai as well. The developing of this KP over LC culture started from when they came. There has always been a lack of respect for the history of the club. This is why I don’t look back on Vichai fondly. It seems one of the reasons he is constantly defended despite all the above is giving money to the hospitals. Do we even know how that works out relative to wealth? Relatively speaking, it’s probably like one of us giving £100 to charity. A lovely gesture yes but I wouldn’t expect to be in permanent folklore for that charity as a result!
  17. Yep. Normally I agree with ‘the fans don’t deserve it’ when a club is struggling, punished with deductions etc. But, for much of our fanbase, they deserve all this. And ultimately would deserve to lose the club if that is how this all ends.
  18. Fair play to Blackburn, at least they are fighting. A gutting result for us though. Seems like our points deduction has coincided with those around us picking up, back to back wins for Blackburn and a big win for Portsmouth in the week. Realistically, given form and/or points on the board, Blackburn upwards are all but out of sight to us. Portsmouth maybe still in it but it looks to be now between us and West Brom. And I fully expect them to get something from Coventry today as Oxford did.
  19. Well said. And you’ll not get a reply. That poster loves the owner and won’t engage in any actual discussion around the matter. Just turns up every now and then to make these little comments.
  20. Not exactly snide attacks. We are outright calling out the absolutely incompetent, disastrous ownership and management of the club. Whereas because you can’t deal with the fact people disagree with your view, all you do is come on here to make snide digs, rather than engage in discussion and perhaps educate yourself on the issues and why people are unhappy.
  21. Oh sure, the clowns are the ones trying to hold the incompetent owner accountable for taking the club to a positions of insolvency. Do you ever actually contribute anything to this forum than snide attacks at those unhappy with the running of the club by the way? Because I have never actually seen anything interesting from you.
  22. Anyone saying they want us to go down are a tiny minority and either doing so out of emotions or a deep belief that short term pain for a brighter long term future. Is the latter any more of a daft opinion than thinking Aiyawatt will turn things around? Probably not. The majority of people at this point probably both want us to stay up and agree Aiyawatt is destroying the club. Within this, some of still reluctant to shout for a change of ownership or worry this will distract from the job at hand to stay up. As for the toxic atmosphere, and I have challenged you on this before, do not try and blame this on people wanting the change. Toxicity comes as much from the the apathy around the club. How many of those who claim to ‘back the lads’ will groan when things aren’t going right? I’d bet many do. Booing players during the game or substitutions, or jeering is too far but again, I bet much of that comes from those who bang on about backing the lads over social media. Why do you think the club is essentially insolvent in how it is run? You don’t think the current owner has anything to do with that? If the fans calling for change got their way, we wouldn’t be pissing money up the wall on crap and would have a sustainable wage structure and would be a more solvent and attractive club. Those supporting this regime are the ones contributing to the club being unattractive through enablement.
  23. A bit simplistic that win percentage. A 36% win percentage would be fine if accompanied by a 40% draw rate and 24% defeats for example. That would see us on roughly 53 points. 36% wins with 24% draw and 40% defeats would be around 50 points. My point is, it’s as much about minimising defeats and turning defeats into draws. 5 wins (based on 36%) and mostly defeats and we are in a mess. But 5 wins (47 points) and a number of draws rather than defeats and we will clear the points required to stay up.
  24. I am one who believes we shouldn’t have to talk about financials and we should be able to just follow the football. However, it was an interesting talk. The comments towards the end about the independent regulator I agree with. There should be a restriction on percentage of wages to revenue as going up to what we do was so so irresponsible. It is also clear that even if we stay up, we will not likely be seeing a thing called transfer fees spent on incomings for a number of years. Based on the finances, spending transfer fees can’t really be justified. It will likely be freebies and loans. I.e we no promote.
  25. I have been very critical of the club, and that remains the case. But thinking more, this is really poor from the PL. Going after us again now just has no purpose. We are in a perilous position and are best hope is to scrape survival in this league and probably a similar story for the coming years. We have seen the stuff circulating about what will happen if we go down. The PL are basically trying to make that happen and therefore push us towards administration and out of business. Yet these ‘rules’ are supposed to be to keep that from happening to clubs? Evidence if it was ever needed that it is not about that. Mostly about protecting the big clubs and given we are no longer a threat, the only reason for them to be still going after us is vindictiveness. Which circling back to the club, maybe had we cooperated with the processes (and you could cooperate whilst still challenging) we would not be in this position now.
