  1. I don't disagree with most of that but we had to sell KDH (I know who's fault it was) but Cooper must have been blind, ill informed or stupid if he didn't know that! Whilst I agree regarding recruitment also being a disaster, you can't force people to come and any agent or up and coming player will know that we're a basket case. Cooper would know that too, all of us on here did and so did the media. Arguably the two players we need most, striker and attacking midfielder are the hardest to recruit and decent one's in short supply. Last seasons recruitment overall was very good, not every signing can be fully successful, but, arguably, even in the Championship at the start of the season we would have looked a better more exciting prospect than we currently do to a player.
  2. You're sounding better by the second, Vardy Mk11 right under our noses! Gerrimin!
  3. The players would have every right to come out and say that to him too. He's hardly Mr Pedigree, who does he think he is coming out with that at this stage? He knew what the job was, what he'd got player wise, he took it. Stop whining and get on with it. Who knows who the club have really tried to get? They can't buy who someone refuses to sell or who doesn't want to come for a variety of reasons including our prospects this year due to the looming points deduction. They did know however that a priority was a KDH replacement and a striker however admittedly we didn't need 15m blowing on yet another centre half, Reid is just a squad player and Golding not ready. Buonanotte is an interesting prospect in fairness. Had we not sold KDH, avoiding relegation would still have been incredibly difficult along with Southampton and Ipswich but achievable without a points deduction. However, there's nothing I've seen so far to suggest Cooper has the nous to organise a system to bring out the strengths of the players he actually has, playing them in their best positions or roles would be a good start. To whine about quality this early is worrying and wreaks of getting your excuses in early.
  4. Just thought it was Cooper-New Manager? Yes, too soon to sack and too much shouldn't be expected. However, whilst we should reasonably expect to lose quite a lot it will be the performances that he will be judged on. If there are no clear tactics or he consistently plays people out of position then things are going to turn sour very quickly.
  5. I don't think anyone's called for his sacking yet at all. However, I can see things turning quite hostile very quickly for a new season but that won't be purely for wanting the manager to be sacked, it will be as much about the incompetence of the people above him including Top. They are largely responsible for the position the club finds itself in!
  6. It's a bit late for sending messages and he's got a mouth on him anyway. He knew what players he'd got when he took the job on. He should be playing something like his starting 11 for the last friendly to get them used to each other, not pissing about trying to make points. Whether we agreed with him or not, at least under Maresca you could see a team committed to a plan or system. There doesn't seem to be any coherent plan now and the players look confused.
  7. I agree with that but why play a system that you haven't got the players to suit? We might have got away with it in the Championship but the Premiership is a different proposition. Iheanacho was the same, but play him behind another striker and he'd get you goals. Surely the trick is to play a system and tactics that draw upon the skills of the players you actually have, not one's you wished you had. It's about winning and getting points, not a managers ego.
  8. That would sound ok until today's performance whereupon you'd expect to be fielding a team vaguely similar to what you'd start in your first match, together with some coherent tactics or aim. Whilst the result doesn't matter the performance does and that and tactics were way off the mark. That's down to the manager.
  9. There's something not quite right about Cannon isn’t there? He's hardlyhad a sniff pre-season evenas substitute and now both of our main strikers are supposedly out, not good for fitness or confidence. Ever since he's come he's not got a look in. Surely he can't be that bad or they wouldn't have bought him in the first place? Everton supporters seemed a bit miffed that they sold him, wonder if there are personality or discipline issues?
  10. Brendan Cooper?
  11. Surely he's had one crack at the Premiership, found out to be crap, hence he's not here anymore?
  12. Yep, Vichai must be looking down, shaking his head and saying 'stupid boy'! What a Fred Karnos Army it all is! (Where on earth did that come from). A blast from the past but fitting nevertheless.
  13. To have Faes and particularly JJ on that left hand side is reminiscent of the circus when the clowns car comes on, drives round out of control and the doors fall off! Gasps as players roll past Faes sending him spinning round like a top and chuckles as JJ receives the ball, passes it straight back to the opposition with a 'honk honk' sound. At least we can smile at Daka when he continually tries to kick the ball with his big clown shoes on!
  14. Was he the one in a wheelchair in Crossroads?
  15. I don't know about lay down their lives, but you can guarantee that JJ will consistently give the ball to the opposition then Faes, after 65 minutes will mince about and lose concentration for the rest of the game! For me JJ is at best a squad player on the right and we could do with Faes gone for a bit of dosh ... but who on earth would want him?
  16. We're more desperate in other areas though, he's hardly a priority.
  17. I think you have to be practical and realistic. 1. We have this every year. 2. Early signings are of course very nice but the reality is that for most clubs, most business is done very late for two logical reasons. Firstly, clubs will hold out for the most money they can get for their asset. Secondly, players and agents will wait and see what their best club and financial options are. 3. Currently we're in a different position to our supposed rivals. The club's a bit of a basket case despite on paper being a Premiership club. Everyone knows that we're due a points deduction but not how many that will be. Therefore any potential signings will have to be prepared to accept that there's more than a good chance that they'll be playing in the Championship next season. Even if they are willing to accept that, then there will undoubtedly be some potential contract clauses and negotiations forthcoming. I would suggest that the transfer pond we're currently fishing in isn't of the highest quality and deliberations have to be made over just signing long term mediocrity or going with what we have. Who of a high calibre would realistically want to come here?
  18. That's my point really though. If the session was for one hour let's say, you'd get 30 minutes with Cooper and 30 minutes with the Ladies manager. Most supporters would far sooner have 60 minutes with Cooper. Hence better to have two events or separate rooms so the content is more appropriate to it's target audience. It's not a case of disrespecting the Ladies manager but, the truth is that most supporters would have no interest whatsoever to go to the event and listen to Miquel.
  19. It's not necessarily the age in this case though, more that the player himself is hardly a renowned player of quality in the first place. Aging players like Cambiasso, Cottee or Ferdinand still had something obvious to offer, this chap arguably never really had much in the first place.
  20. The words 'scraping the barrel now' and 'desperation' seem to have leapt into my mind for some reason?
  21. He was allegedly told that Enzo wouldn't be playing with left backs and that he would have to be cover as a centre back with JJ also as cover. On that left side therefore there was Doyle, JJ and himself. He felt it best for his career to remain a left back. This turned our to be the correct decision for his career as he managed to play in a successful Bologna side and subsequently his national team. He was still only 20 when he went out on loan. It's not about 'buckling' down here. Why would a young player want to be a bit part 3rd choice player in a Championship side when they can get regular first team football in Serie A. He learned more in that season there than ever he would have done at Leicester and improved his career prospects. He clearly made the right decision. As it happens, Leicester got paid a loan fee and their player came back better off for the experience and possibly even increased or maintained his market value. If Leicester hadn't deemed him surplus to requirements they wouldn't have let him go in the first place. Blind loyalty to a team is for supporters, sometimes there's a bigger picture. If it was my son I'd have told him to leave for the benefit of his future career too. His previous experience under Rodgers by all accounts hadn't been a very positive one either. I'd have been gagging to leave too.
  22. Really? He's not a Leicester City supporter you know, it really is just a job. He would have signed mainly for two reasons, one for the money and two for career progression. If you think differently you must be very nieve! At the point that the chances of him playing at all were minimal due to a new manager, for the benefit of himself and his career, why on earth would he want to stay? It's a no brainer!
  23. So very very sad indeed. What a great servant to Leicester City he was. Always appeared down to earth and seemingly very well respected by his players. Part of a great management team in our history.
