  1. You're. (I'm even less fun to be with.)
  2. Absolutely. He just wants to play football and was prepared to move away, even to a team that had just been relegated, but was likely to be playing good football. Big respect for that. I think I'd be saying that if he had moved to another club in the Championship and was having a great season... through gritted teeth
  3. Generally I think you're posts and insights are very good, but you've had a mare there. What's this "games 1-10, 11-20, etc" malarkey? No team follows that kind of pattern. Games are won and lost at any given point and purple patches come at any time, be you fighting for a title or to avoid relegation. It's the beauty of football. The pattern you describe roughly describes our Premier League winning season, but there have been plenty of times when champions have started well and faded to just hang on; been indifferent and go on a late run; had a blip mid-season, but pulled it back together. Games 1-meh.
  4. Plan A seems to be working.
  5. But surely you get home some nights?
  6. Curses! My petard is hoisted!
  7. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you... Harry Kane!
  8. Muppet. Question is... To whom am I referring? The postie (an incompetent moron - who didn't do their job properly (who you sexistly decided was a "he" you misogynistic, prejudiced, patriarchy supporting troglodyte!)) You? (The aforementioned cave-dweller.) Or Your Wife? (A woman so stupid, she married someone who despises her very essence that defines her as a woman.) That is the conundrum.
  9. Cost of living crisis, but this Christmas we've been absolutely deluged with parcels! Might be because RM have reduced staffing levels, but there doesn't seem to be any let up on people buying for Christmas.
  10. Similar problem with people's willies.
  11. So, let me get this straight. Royal Mail don't appreciate me and would end my 16 years of impeccable service at the drop of a hat?
  12. I found out the other day that Hanging On The Telephone by Blondie was a cover version. Woah!
  13. He's the thinking man's Leon Crncic.
  14. I'd be more sympathetic towards Egypt, as that actually was literally grave-robbing. If they found sarcophagus just lying in the desert, different matter. The Elgin Marbles weren't taken from the Parthenon, they were sections that had broken off and were just left lying around (and I can't make too fine a point of this, for hundreds of years). Besides which, which would I rather go to see? The Elgin Marbles or the Parthenon? The Parthenon of course, so they've already got the major draw. It's not like you're going to go and see the Elgin Marbles and decide, "right, I've seen the Parthenon, no need to go to Greece now." Besides, besides which... I've seen the Elgin Marbles
  15. And he hasn't used it for 2000 years?
  16. And they were worried about the cenotaph during the pro-Palestinian marches!
  17. So, what's people's views on the Elgin Marbles? I get the imperial theft argument, but then again there's a very strong argument that these countries had just left these antiquities lying around for literally millennia, especially in the case of the Parthenon Fresco. If the British hadn't taken them doubtless they'd be in someone's private collection or broken up to build local houses (which is where most of Hadrian's Wall went, for example). That Greece wants them back, in an age where one of their major incomes is tourism, smacks of having your cake and eating it. Which, to be perfectly clear, there's nothing wrong with, I frequently have cake, then eat it... pretty much 100% of the time. But is this more like dropping your cake on the floor, leaving it for someone else to clean up, then much later getting a bit peckish for something... cake maybe?
  18. Hey, Mr Trump, Robert De Niro's waiting... https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-67552014 Respect, Bob.
  19. 5 min pauses in the game and getting it wrong. Instantly getting it wrong. I know which I prefer.
  20. Could be as simple as changing a fuse.
  21. I'm currently reading Unruly by David Mitchell (the comedian, not the Cloud Atlas author), which is a history of the English monarchy. It has the best chapter ever in it. The title for the chapter about King Cnut is called... See Next You Tuesday
  22. If the injury damaged the parts of the brain that deal with processing sensory communication, his eyes noticing the through ball, spotting the player in space, or hearing team mates call for a pass, or judging the weight of a pass or it's timing - that would seriously impede any athlete's ability. It eventually happens to everyone via aging, but head injury is only going to accelerate that. Having said this, it doesn't follow that he's completely lost any ability, just that it's diminished. Maybe he could still have a career at lower levels, plus you can retrain the brain given time
  23. By supporting LCFC?
  24. Tru dat
  25. Just seen a driving instruction car with no passenger, therefore being driven by the instructor (or partner ) run a red light and I don't mean barely, I mean clearly, and thus become and obstruction to traffic from the other direction. It beggars belief.
