We have seen a relegation involving players who went to Champions League clubs, a manager given at least six months too long, a points deduction for overspending avoided on a technicality and a short tenure of a coach totally ill suited to the role. That is even before we get to the multitude of fan related PR failures. Yes, it is good others are picking up on it but it has hardly been hidden information.

This is where the Monday Night fixture falls down. Two out of sorts teams, no needle between the clubs, everyone is flat from the start of the week, weather not great. If you had West Ham v Tottenham, for example, or Aston Villa v Wolves I think it would be much better spectacle. This really does seem like a time filler.
