Charlton managed 7 consecutive seasons. Wednesday were there for around a decade. Blackburn spent 18 of the first 20 years of the Premier League in it. Bournemouth are having a good time but have done nothing the likes of Wimbledon, Coventry, Wigan haven't done in the past 30 years.

We have lost a great position but it should also be noted that Ipswich have played 3 more matches in that time.

TV spreading out the schedule has made the situation worse. We had a ten day spell towards the end of last season where ourselves or teams around us played on eight of the days. It was relentless. At least everyone playing at the same time condenses it and you can digest it then step away for a bit. I don't think we play too much but it is played on too many days, if that makes sense.

I think whatever he did would be futile as they had an extra man and potentially another 30 minutes with extra subs available if required. We cannot afford more injuries too. I would have gone for it but chucking attackers on leaves more space for them. Damned either way, really.

The red card threw things off. Honestly I would have gone the other way and tried to go for it but I understand trying to keep it tight then try and nick something.

Extra time would have been too much, a shame to lose it so late but with ten it was always going to be tough. Thought we defended well until the winner after the red and showed some fight today after a difficult first half.

Football is not an enjoyable experience and hasn't been for years. There is too much at stake now.

We are generally absolutely fine. Our points tally is one of the highest on record. We have two other teams with similar returns. This isn't a normal season. Wrapping up a league in March when four sides are going at over two points a game is nigh on impossible. We've all had poor runs and currently ours is happening. There is still more than enough in this squad to finish the job.

I am really glad I attend non league games and occupy my time. Reading back over the Championship thread this afternoon was grim.

Our fans are very contradictory about this. On the one hand they say the game is too easy/ dull yet meltdown when the opposition have a shot.

A team in second comfortably beats a team second bottom. Hardly worth getting wound up over.

What happens if clubs breach this season (as seems likely)? I assume the new rules start for next year's accounting period so still points deductions are possible?

Depends on the guest. The experienced guests sound really convincing but the newer ones don't grasp it. A shame really, as you say it ruins the ending.
