Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
Corky replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think @Stadt mentioned that we spent big on mediocrity so we haven't been able to comply yet are left with a squad of relatively little value. We have been poor sellers for years. Maguire did a lot of heavy lifting on our reputation. Relegation forced us to lose Barnes and Maddison for less than their value. Losing Iversen on a free when we could have brought in money, too. Tielemans, Soyuncu, Perez, Iheanacho and Praet all going for nothing- probably north of £60 million lost there. It means we are forced to lose our better assets for less to get some revenue in. -
Taken nearly ten years but glad we all back Tottenham these days.

This is fully on us. We appointed two managers on three year contracts within six months, neither of whom were the right fit or good enough. We obviously didn't put clauses in to save money when we wanted to move them on. -
Tottenham won a trophy Arsenal were too good to be in. Hardly like Arsenal were knocked out by a team Tottenham then beat.
-
What I don't get about this is that the managers who delivered the success and stability (Pearson, Ranieri, Shakespeare, Puel and Rodgers) were all sacked; some unfairly, some fairly, some reluctantly, some too late but all because they weren't doing well enough or we felt we could do better. However, Rudkin and Whelan are part of two relegations, huge financial losses and yet still remain firmly in situ.

Rodgers practically begged to be sacked. Slagged off his owners and his squad and somehow still remained.
-
Scotland booed off at half time, losing at home to Iceland.

Can't wait for Madders' sombre Instagram video message.
-
One point from.Cooper and van Nistelrooy. No wonder he was sacked.
-
Great news for Ange. Leaves with a trophy and his stock high which ignores his average league record for the past 18 months.
-
And no doubt we'll put the next bloke on a hefty three year contract.
-
Give it Lee Anderson til the end of the season.
-
Not spectacularly failing but Puel and Smith left their previous clubs after poor runs of form. Cooper was still popular yet Forest were in atrocious form.

"We're going to build a new stadium but are happy not to stage some matches there".

Almost as though they weren't bothered about this until the threat of the regulator came in.... Spent 30 years encouraging clubs to spend what they liked to grow the brand and it got out of control. Ourselves, Everton and Notts Forest have been victims of timing.

Pretty fair article. I know some will jump on the Nottingham Forest fan talking about points deductions but it is relevant. Good to see all the issues covered and not just the usual "entitled, back to their place" tired tropes about the supporters.

Cricket (None Leicestershire County Cricket Club)
Corky replied to leicsmac's topic in General Football and Sport
Was watching highlights of the 2000 series the other day and it is almost forgotten how huge that series was for English cricket. Beat the West Indies for the first time in 30 years, the likes of Trescothick and Vaughan coming in, first big series for Nasser Hussain as captain. Ambrose and Walsh were still top class, too. -
So why did we sign three players for large fees and sell no first teamers in the summer of 2021?

New thread started for 25/26, will lock this

Glad he won't be joining. No idea why Rangers want him, seems totally unsuited to it.
