Interesting to see how he gets on at National League level.
-
I mean, you did also say....

So many faulty owners and nothing seems to be done. You only have to look at what's happening at Wednesday and it seems to just be allowed to continue. Sad to see clubs get in this state. I hope someone buys Morcambe.

I drink non alcoholic when I'm at home. Peroni, Heineken and Brooklyn are what I go for. People keep recommending Lucky Saint but I've not got round to trying that yet. Sorry to hear Doctor say you've got to give alcohol up but you will enjoy the recommendations in this thread and not miss alcohol!

No. John Eustace kept Blackburn up (including beating us and Leeds, both away) and had them in the top 6, with terrible owners, then went to Derby and kept them up (only finished 8 points behind Wednesday despite Derby looking like they were getting relegated for 75% of the season). Mark Robins also had worse conditions at Coventry (no money and, for a couple of seasons, no home ground) yet improved them season after season. If I suggested those two names I'd get laughed.

It would explain last season's performances.

I tried to make the point about your academy previously on here. The criticism of "he doesn't play youth" isn't fair, even more so considering any decent player will have the Manchester and potentially even Merseyside scouts round him. I am under the impression he had a lot to do with your new training ground?
-
They had a better squad than Huddersfield, Plymouth and Rotherham. How Wednesday stayed up that season was incredible, mind.
-
They conceded 3 a lot and over the full season were inconsistent. At the end of the day the home form let them down. I do feel people are overselling him. I get the excitement of getting a manager from another team but I'm not 100% sold.
-
Easily. If any of our academy players since have half the career Heskey had then they will be happy.
-
Am I being too pessimistic for the new season?

So much hype around these academy players. Who we talking about? Aside from Ben Nelson who has had good reports from his loan moves. -
Same. I was on holiday. Couldn't believe we'd got rid of him. It all started when he came back to the club. Without Pearson we'd just be stuck in the Championship still.

Not bothered about 1975 so got iPlayer on and watching bits from earlier.

Only 6 months too late!

People keep saying this but first of all he's never really been in a position too. I imagine when you're in a relegation scrap constantly the last thing you want to do is throw academy players into the mix. Secondly he has managed two clubs very close to two/three of the biggest and best academies in the World. I would guess Man Utd/Man City and potentially Liverpool scouts come looking at young players at Burnley. While Everton have a good success rate of bringing players through they also have massive competition with the same clubs. edit: Just to add. People talk as if Dyche has managed a massive clubs with a group full of outstanding academy players that he chose to ignore. I bet nobody can even name a player from Burnley that Dyche never "blood through".
-
Course he is much more of a gamble. Dyche has proven to get teams out of this division. Again, I don't want him, but he's not comparable to an ex player who has never managed a game before.
-
Their home form really let them down. Was awful.
-
Be interesting this one.

Come on, it's in us to appoint Rohl and then lose the first game of the season.
-
I read yesterday they are.
-
Some nice away days early on. Charlton, Oxford, WBA.
-
Thankfully that's at home. Away is March.
-
Terrible kick off time. 16:30 on a Sunday!
-
According to the Guardian every team are on Sky first game of the season.
-
I couldn't ever believe people wanted him for England (if I recall he actually ended up getting a cap as well). I'm sure as soon as Wolves changed away from 3/5 at the back he was practically gone.
