  1. No we’re not left with dross. You’re just punting around the big names. We should go lower and try a manager who has been successful in the football league. For me, Wellens has done enough now for him to get a crack in the Championship. Successful at Swindon and now Leyton Orient (ignoring the mess of Oldham and Salford). I don’t think he would stand for certain players and always seemed knowledgeable about football. We’ve got the get away from the big names, although I don’t think this ownership will.
  2. Cooper was limited but got more out of this squad. He was more suited. At least we scored goals. Van Nistelrooy hasn’t got a clue and you could see that weeks ago, I’ve been posted this since his arrival. I’ve seen excuses made for Van Nistelrooy time and time again but ultimately he has made us far worse. 0 goals in 6 consecutive home games is a disgrace.
  3. Tbf they should have got a result at our place with the amount of chances they missed.
  4. This season is the worse PL season I’ve seen. Thankfully just missed 01/02 but I imagine that would be up there for some. But I was at Stoke when we were relegated to the third tier and at that point it felt like nothing was ever going to get better.
  5. It’s the top flight record isn’t it? Not just Premier League. Disgraceful.
  6. Job for the boys. Is anybody we employ actually experienced.
  7. He was never good enough. People used excuse after excuse for him. Should never have got the job but that’s not his fault.
  8. Tough for Celtic that, otherwise a decent result. Think they improved in Europe since their big defeat in Dortmund.
  9. What a win for Orient. Really hope they go up again.
  10. And having nobody else anywhere near him on the pitch.
  11. We just launched the ball every time we had it. Was like a lower league team just booting clear. I got bored of it as well as constantly giving them the ball from goalkicks, or said goalkicks going out of play. If we didn’t lose a man and concede a cheap 2nd is irrelevant. We did do that and it’s why we’re in a relegation battle. Arsenal hit the woodwork twice. No I wouldn’t have been bored with a draw. The final result is completely different to the actual game.
  12. Must have been one of the worse games of the season. I was so bored by HT. We were awful and Arsenal didn’t look like a top 4 side. It looked like, and felt more like, a cup tie where we brought them down to our level.
  13. But football doesn’t work like that. There are games you deserve to win when you lose, games you deserve to lose when you win. We didn’t deserve 3 points against West Ham under Van Nistelrooy, for instance. We should have won at Palace but our defender made a stupid challenge to concede a penalty in the last minute. You can pick out pretty much anything if you’re being specific. Cooper was nowhere near as bad as Van Nistelrooy and the results reflect that. We now have gone 5 home league games without even scoring. I am not taking signings into consideration as there’s more people to blame than just the manager for the scouting and signing of players.
  14. Luck isn’t real. We never dropped points against relegation rivals under Cooper. Palace, Everton, Ipswich, Southampton… Under Van Nistelrooy we lose to relegation rivals. Palace, Everton, Wolves… all without us even scoring ffs. And at least under Cooper we were scoring the odd goal. Ultimately now we score less and concede more. Not sure how people can defend this manager, in fact I’d go as far as saying I’ve never seen so many excuses made for poor manager before.
  15. Squad being rubbish is just an excuse. You’ve got to work with what you’ve got. Cooper was getting more out of this squad. Everton squad isn’t great, and they struggled for goals under Dyche, but Moyes has completely turned them around. We hired an awful inexperienced manager when our aim was to just stay up.
  16. Unbelievable how much people talked him up anyway considering we had the best squad in the league, perhaps the biggest budget too, and only won the league by a point and not even making 100 points.
  17. Thought they were in a title race three months ago
  18. I doubt it for a 12:30 KO.
  19. Absolute rubbish.
  20. We've also played teams that have had injuries and they've still beaten us easily. Everton for example, missing Calvert-Lewin and played Beto who never scores yet got two goals against us. So many excuses thrown around.
  21. Brilliant that it's being covered by Talksport and the BBC, referencing the Project Reset name.
  22. A lot of pressure on him at that time and he was only young. Although Waghorn's penalty wasn't well placed. The way Kermogrant missed should never have put Waghorn in that position but equally you want your goalkeeper to save at least one during a shoot out and Weale never got to any.
  23. @Super_horns may jump in here but did Watford concede the least goals in 20/21 with 30? Burnley will end up breaking records though, and nobody will match it. It will be like when Mourinho was at Chelsea. Conceding just 9 goals by February is mental.
  24. I like Goodison, enjoyed my visit the other week aside from the result, and it has hosted more top flight matches than any other ground so is a historic ground. I can understand why they need to move and it probably should have happened years ago.
  25. Vestergaard and Kristiansen back for selection
