Football and life has changed. Players don’t play “for the badge”, to many fans have this expectancy that players will be invested in The club and the area. The sooner you/i/they get away from that, the better.

I think all because he can/does have more money and free time, that us mere mortals can only dream off, doesn’t mean we are right. When I became a father for the first time, I wanted to be around my children and supporting my now ex, 24/7… being a millionaire would not have changed this. but fans seem to think, because they don’t have that luxury, why should a multi millionaire.

Absolutely it is. I would also add that fans live for their football, and the expense that comes with it. As such they have an expectation that players who earn more in a month then most of us do in a year, should put LCFC first. When winks public spat with Ruud over his newborn came to light, most fans sided with Ruud. I’d assume Winks would be aware of this, hence maybe his reaction tonight? What most fans don’t understand is that for some players, family time irrespective of earnings is more important than nothing else. Not saying it’s right or wrong, but it is what it is. Players have lives outside of football.

My opinion doesn’t change. He appears petulant, and childish. Is he a bad egg? Maybe… But so are 80% of our fanbase, listening to how we react to decisions, how we feel it’s okay to bring personal insults towards individuals.

It’s sad that grown adults have to harbour ill will to others over past mistakes/errors/comments. Do we as a society not learn how to forgive and forget? players make mistakes, players say things at times that maybe heat of the moment or not well thought out. should we hate them forever?

I still maintain now that despite boardroom level errors that didn’t help, I feel the squad for the relegation season were unfit and not as physically well prepared. That’s on Rodger’s. when your not as prepared for games, opponents move the ball quicker around you, particularly on the press. We couldn’t cope so sat back more, which gave the impression of not trying.
