And yet there are STILL folk in the fanbase - even on here! - who peddle the lie that Seagrave is a "world-leading" training ground. The only positive thing about that wretched venue is the fact it keeps Jon Rudkin out of Leicester during the week, and thus stops him stealing oxygen from those of us who live and work there.

Anyone who thinks this club will feature in a game at Wembley this season is deluded enough to be sectioned. Seriously.

Do you have ANY evidence (other than swallowing the King Power spin) to back that up? Seagrave was and is a Jon Rudkin vanity project. The idea that it's the English equivalent of Barcelona's La Maria is a dangerous and toxic myth. But there's no doubt some (many?) Foxes will continue to believe it even if (when?) Rudkin takes us to the National League..

Martin is the symptom, not the cause. Unless and until we drive out Jon Rudkin - by whatever means necessary - we will continue our slide from Champions League to National League. It is Rudkin who has appointed an endless series of completely inadequate managers. It is Rudkin who authorised the signing of Oliver Skipp - who even outstrips Dennis Wise as the worst signing in City history. And it is Rudkin who has kept a hand on the purse-strings to the extent we have NO strikers with any experience on our books.

Lal's also very clear about using us as a stepping stone to land a bigger fish elsewhere. But it's highly doubtful that he'd fit the profile most fans at Ibrox would want. Paulo Sousa - the first manager of the King Power era - lasted just eleven games in charge before getting the push. On the evidence of his first two games, Martin must be in some danger of beating that record.

At away games, as at home, the majority of the fanbase are mute window-lickers who won't hear a bad word said about Rudkin or anyone else in the City hierarchy. The 2k allocation - far less than we used to take to Meadow Lane in the 80s and 90s - didn't do us any favours, though. The trip to the franchise - who are giving us far more tickets - will show if there if there is any hope whatsoever of redemption.

Don't share the belief still prevalent on here that the academy players will see us through. Especially as that's what was said this time last season. The fact they've all been groomed by Rudkin (hopefully just in a football sense..) should also temper expectations a little bit. Didn't see anything today from either Alves or Braybrooke to suggest they'll take League 1 by storm. Joseph looked decent for the first 70 minutes or so, though, before tiring in the heat.

It hasn't had its day. Spain won the World Cup less than a month ago. The issue is that the current City side is many levels below the likes of Rodri, Pedri and Yamal. But Rudkin and Aiyawatt prefer not to acknowledge this. They are setting Martin up to fail just like so many before him, especially during yet another transfer window when Rudkin has been criminally negligent. Last week on here I said this side will finish closer to the bottom of League 1 than the top. Nothing I've seen today has changed that view.

Way too optimistic. That would give us 69 points and a possible shot at the playoffs. But the squad as it stands is nowhere near good enough for that. The dead hand of Rudkin, pulling the strings of the latest halfwit to sit in the City dugout, produced yet another dismal home result. Expect plenty more in the months ahead. It's unforgivable that with transfer sales of £50 million+ (and likely to rise further) this summer, not one penny has been spent on a striker of any quality. No lessons have been learned at the Seagrave vanity project. Expect a finish closer to the bottom than the top of this wretched league.

Daka actually looked quite decent in his first season, and not just in Europe. His displays in wins at Brentford and Burnley spring readily to mind. But when Brendan Rodgers (the "laughing gnome") turned toxic the season afterwards, his form fell off a cliff and never recovered. If he ends up following Odsonne Édouard into the Champions League, certain folk at our club really will have questions to answer.. PS Daka STILL has more Premier League goals than Jamie Vardy did at the same age.

Arguably Harry Maguire was the biggest miss of all. Think he'd have contributed more than Stones or Burn did..

Assume you've been drowning your sorrows tonight as a lot of what you've written here makes no sense at all. Croatia are a team in decline whom England beat quite comfortably, Germany were knocked out by Paraguay and Brazil by Norway. As for Italy, they didn't even make it to the World Cup for the THIRD time in a row. So unfavourable comparisons with any of those countries is nonsense. While there are a lot of mercenary instincts in the England squad - as there have been since the days of Shearer, etc, to be honest - doubt their patriotic fervour as a group is any less that of the Basques and Catalonians that make up most of the present Spain line-up. It's also easy to forget Argentina themselves, even during the Messi era, endured a long and painful series of tournament failures, including successive defeats to Chile on penalties in Copa America finals. Somehow, in 2021, they finally managed to overcome that hoodoo and haven't looked back since. Messi and co are a battle hardened squad in a way that England aren't. Can't see a coach emerging any time soon that will build a winning mentality within the current England squad. Like many before him, Tuchel has proved to be a triumph of hype over substance.

Doubt Villa fans will give a flying one. He's part of their best team in 30 years and that's all they care about. That's part of the issue with English football. Too many fans - and players - care far more about their clubs than the national team.

Anderson, Bellingham and Rice, at a combined cost of £300m+, form by some distance the most expensive central midfield in the history of world football. It's time for them, individually and collectively, to provide performances that fit that tag - both vs Argentina and whoever we face at the weekend.
