After reading the above, I can't help picturing Ruud's arse cheeks, pressed against a steamed up shower like a pair of roast hams

I just about understand the concept thanks Given the option of 45 minutes against 10 men including a good sprinkling of youngsters. Or facing a stronger team of 11 for 90, I'd take option 1 every day of the week. Especially given 5 of the players had only played in 1 half. Obviously it's subjective, but if Coalville were in that position I'd have wanted extra time rather than a replay.
-
They had 30 mins against 10 men to get through. If anything id say its a positive side of the removal of replays.
-
Coalville 2.0 did well today, unlucky to lose it 2-1 in the end. God help the grounds man responsible for turning that bog into something resembling a football pitch for the rest of the season though Thought Harborough were going to take it when Reading went down to 10. They'll be waking up tomorrow thinking "what if" especially if they draw one of the big boys. Fair play to them though, they took the game to a changed Reading team and gave them a real scare. I wish we'd have done the same against Charlton after they'd named 2 17 year olds in the back line. Great to see Gooch's Tamuff get through! Hope they get a big tie.

Brentford 4 Leicester 1 Post Match Thread.

Imagine being somebody who is paid money to work in the premier league and then thinking Luke Thomas at LWB is the optimal choice. Could be worse, -

Ruud awakening for the Premier League!

Gonna be awkward when they bump into each other outside Top's office on a Monday morning after a loss. -
"There’s maybe a sense of entitlement that after winning the league in 2016, that life should be very good for them." Bit of a wooly definition of entitlement. Would love to see some examples where fans have demanded more than is achievable. As a fan base I still think we're generally the opposite of entitled, there's a massive apathy.

Haha this is an interesting way of looking at it actually, have we accidentally discovered an infinite money glitch? (well as much as Top can/wants to put in anyway)

Wait, this hasn't even been made official yet? I assumed it had as everyone was talking about it like it was a done deal haha. -
Ruud awakening for the Premier League!

If clubs make sportive decisions based on how they will be perceived, then they're a lost cause anyway. Especially given that people's attention spans mean that any outrage lasts for about 12-24 hours before the next outrage comes along. I'd argue he wasn't a gamble as they had a philosophy in place. Then based on research and talking to Potter the club decided they were a good fit. It's like deciding to cross the road when the lights are on red. Logically it makes good sense, but you could call it a gamble, on the off chance that some lunatic could speed through the reds. My example is exactly the same, don't question it -

On Potter. In 6 years, he had taken a 4th tier Swedish team into the top tier. Finished top 8 and qualified for the Europa League group stage. All this without having a sugar daddy financing it. There's a world of difference between Tony Bloom and his analytical staff researching and screening suitable candidates, and Jon Rudkin and Top picking up the top CV off the pile and knowing the name. -

So because their previous owner ran them into the ground they should be grateful to be losing? Absurd facebook grandma logic that is. -
Ruud awakening for the Premier League!

Fair points. He'll get my backing as any manager does. As I say, I literally have no opinion on him. Aside from PSV improving after he left there's absolutely nothing to go on. So I refuse to fall into the trap of emptying my sac because someone who looks relatively sexy and used to be class at scoring goals has become our manager. My main point is, would anyone be happy about this appointment if he hadn't played for Man U. I have my doubts -

Id be looking at someone who's achieved something as a coach. We're a premier league club and thus a very attractive proposition. Ruuds career so far is taking the best team in Holland and finishing 2nd. Then beating Steve Coopers Leicester twice and PAOK with Man Utd. If it was an unknown name people would be baffled beyond belief. But because he bagged a load of goals people are all jazzed up. Rooney effect in full flow. -
Ruud awakening for the Premier League!

I have literally no opinion on this, aside from it feels underwhelming and once again Rudking/Top going for the easiest option. A well known name in football that has applied for the job. All i can see is that since he left PSV they have improved. Anyone have any deeper insight into him as a coach/manager?- 907 replies

I'm interested to see how he handles turning 18. Whether he'll be on the lash a lot or if he'll still just be sat around on Fifa/TikTok till 2am when he has an early start in the darts Ridiculously talented for someone who doesn't seem to be madly into training. I imagine that'd be good for his longevity to be fair, if he can go 5 days without picking up darts and throw a 100+ average.
-
Have you seen him after a win? Weird shouting at players after they've played well. If you were to seriously apply that logic then he'd never be in the dug out
-
God awful accent but love that We wanted to do something similar for one of our mates down at Coalville but the game in question got postponed due to a cup run. Never been so disappointed to win a cup match
-
If that logic makes you happy then who am I to argue
-
Appreciate you letting me off the hook there, everything I say is in jest, although it can be hard to show at times. Unless I'm talking about Rodgers I just had a search about that and Aberfan slide, that's really sad! It looked devestating! I'm glad to hear all are safe though, as tough as it is, at least any things can be replaced in time. Anyway I'll not derail this thread anymore.

Would be great for them to start life in their spanking new stadium in the championship. Struggling to beat 10 man Brentford at home, it'd be great if this is finally the year they go.

Well I just googled "wales news" and the effects of Storm Bert totally passed me by, now I feel a right plum Hope you and your friends/family are alright @Cadno'r Cymoedd
