  1. He's not in the 25 man squad though. He's in the b list for u21s, which basically any player u21 will be. Im fairly confident the reporters are making an ill-informed guess on this one.
  2. I think he almost certainly goes out on loan somewhere he will be signed as starter. He may need to drop into league one or the bottom half of the championship.
  3. Whoever is reporting that is smoking crack. 1) Literally anyone who's watched him knows he's not good enough 2) He's young enough that they wouldn't need to waste a squad space on him.
  4. Nice! Shame for casadei as he won't get any chance to develop as he is miles off the Premier league. Wonder if he end up going on loan to another club that can guarantee him starts. Thatd make more sense than Poch being mad enough to think hes good enough for the Prem.
  5. Sorry Enzo, but you've got to go. It's been a good run.
  6. Would you like to swap for a 39 year old striker that didn't need signing?
  7. AFCON is superb entertainment. It's mad how teams can have genuinely world class players and in the same squad they've probably got conference/league two players. I guess @Finnegan would know about that It's always good fun to watch though and it is decent seeing crowds having fun and not needing to neck 10 pints to have the courage to have a dance and a sing.
  8. I'd like a super league but only with new franchise teams. It'd be fun to watch but the loss of clubs from communities is not worth the fun.
  9. I don't mind clubs spending more than they have, but I would like to see owners who do want to push the boundaries take on the financial burden. They have to lay down the money for the next 3 seasons that sits in a 3rd party account where wages/transfer fees will come out of. Then at the end of each season/account period. Once all staff and infrastructure are paid for, they can take the value of their investment back from the club for that season (up to say 80% on the revenue for the season). If you haven't opted into that and the club overspends then you willingly hand that club to a selected group/person to look after until a new owner comes in. Obviously very sketchy and off the cuff idea, but I think the core concept is down the right path, it just needs polishing
  10. I imagine if we somehow failed to get promoted this season that we wouldn't be far off being the next team to be in that kind of trouble. With our loans we must be pretty reliant on going straight back up this season.
  11. Sam Matterface being shocked at the concept of added time is really winding me up
  12. Do clubs have the option to have their accounts be done on how much they e actually spent. It feels like you're going to be constantly playing catch up doing your books this way.
  13. Only turned on at ht but this is a cracking half by Blackpool. Hope they can nick it before FT
  14. Stevos teams have lost every play off semi final with us and blown 3 situations where we've been favourites to win the league. One thing his teams have always lacked is the ability to see thing over the line. I think the only time we've shown up in a high pressure game was the King Lynn semis in the vase. It may suit us this season coming up in thr chasing pack rather than leading from the front. Gutted I'm gonna miss bishops Stortford, got prior plans in Nottingham. Could have probably made it had it been at home Very good chance of progression and a potential quarter final appearance though! Hopefully we can pick up some wins and carry on this unbeaten run in the meantime. Starting with a benbow-less Stourbridge on Saturday.
  15. Well let's use Everton. 19.5 million overspend. X20 makes the fine 390 million. That'll be against the club rather than the owner. Pts deductions and transfer embargoes are the way to go.
  16. So owner runs club poorly. Spends £50 million over threshhold. Owner sacks it off and club owes £1bn? Putting clubs out of business because of a horrendous owner...to be fair it's simple but it makes no sense at all to me.
  17. Haha I like playing them to be honest, I much prefer having derby games. There's only two entity's in football that I detest that much. Both of them are tiny, one has fake hair and the other has fake teeth.
  18. Robins has definitely got them more pumped up on both occasions. We can probably be thankful to come away from both fixtures with any points. I hope they do go up to be fair, Robins has been magnificent for them and it'd be an incredible feat. I ended up watching the play off final with a Cov fan in Leeds last year and he was sound. Considering Vardy is earning about about 1/3 of their wage budget alone it's annoying how we've not been clearly better than them, save for a 15 minute spell at the end of the first game.
  19. Okay, I've just read up on how clubs use transfer amortization for their accounts. Interesting, I can imagine clubs try all sorts to game that. So if we signed someone for £15 million and he's on a 3 year contract worth 80k (4.16 million a year). His value goes down £5 million each year. So he's worth 9.16 million a year. 21/22 - 5 million + 4.16 miliion 22/23 - 5 million + 4.16 million 23/24 - Hypothetically sold for £5 million At this point we only had £5 million left to pay, as £10 million was paid in the previous 2 years. So that cancels out the £5 million from the fee. Then we are relieved of the wages, so we can enter it in a 4.16 million profit from last season Quite an interesting video, my only query is wondering how it works if a player signs a new deal and their wage goes up or down. Would the value be based on the previous financial year or their projected cost.
  20. He's actually got pretty much identical stats to KDH aside from losing the ball 4 times to KDH's two. I imagine most people didn't rate KDH's performance vs Cov, so I imagine people saying he was good, are setting a low bar for Casadei.
  21. You don't chase a player for 2/3 months as a back up. I mean sure, Rodgers did it on multiple occasions, but that wouldn't be usual practise.
  22. One positive about this is that it's a timely warning that we need 2 more wingers in the summer. Another youngster and a more experienced one ideally. Kasey isn't going to be anymore than a league one /bottom end champ player. Albrighton is obviously Albrighton. There's nobody in the academy remotely close to being able to play in the Prem otherwise we'd have seen them by now. We did sign Yunus as a winger so it'll be interesting to see if he comes in (assuming he's available) he's the most logical option. Potentially 3 games for him to impress. Although Enzo seems to adore McAteer as much as Rodgers adored Ward, so I imagine we'll be stuck watching him murder promising opportunities.
  23. I think the trade off is Fatawu is about 1-2 inches lower, but studs up (I've just watched it again and I don't think it can be argued the studs are down). The bristol city lad is studs are down but he's a touch higher - unfortunately bounces off the ball and then goes into the West Ham player. Both have them have lunged into a challenge but kept fairly low and unlikely to do any major damage. Which for me is probably why a yellow is fair for both. Maybe there needs to be more clarity and say "if a player lunges in studs up then it's a red card/yellow card" whatever. The problem with these issues is that it's usually the fouled players reaction that dictates the reaction of the ref and then the VAR lads just agree with whatever the ref has decided. Referees are far too focused on the reaction and result of an action rather than the action itself.
  24. What was it about the Bristol City challenge that made it worse than Fatawu's for you?
  25. Well getting the ball is dependent on how quick the opposition player shifts it, both their challenges were identical in that regard. The action should be punished, not the outcome. I dno about the speed of the challenge as it's in slow motion and I never saw it in real time. However, I doubt the speed difference can be so great that one is a red card and the other one is play on.
