'I Pushed Myself' - Matt Jones On Injury-Hampered Foxes Spell https://www.lcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/former-player-remembers-leicester-city-leeds-united-matt-jones?fbclid=IwY2xjawRK67pleHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeVWAYQ4mXcy0bndG7b-NK2KoJ8tTV_9cjCgwc5OO6c51NpYcW6gzTAmPXDk4_aem_hQO3dAX2QT85y-9ArB5P_Q

  3. https://footballnews90.com/wrexham-is-now-top-contender-to-sign-leicester-citys-10m-player-report/?fbclid=IwY2xjawRKZLtleHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeNdqEyJL7t_C365vY-eNu31AcNiHvzz9OPnB3fnNzQAhFabHFkGm4vcxHrNQ_aem_PKBtg-wT0tx_82I1fD_VaQ Wrexham have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks as the summer transfer window approaches. The Welsh club are continuing to show ambition in the market, and their interest in the former Tottenham player highlights their intent to strengthen significantly ahead of next season. Leicester City’s position regarding a potential sale has also become clearer, with developments suggesting they may be open to letting the midfielder leave under certain circumstances. This situation has put Wrexham in a strong position compared to other interested clubs. Ambition Remains High At Wrexham AFC Wrexham’s rise in recent years has been backed by a willingness to invest heavily in the squad, and that approach is expected to continue regardless of how the current season concludes. The club’s ownership group has consistently shown a readiness to spend in order to achieve their long-term goal of reaching the Premier League. If Wrexham, currently competing in the Championship, manage to secure a playoff spot and ultimately earn promotion, significant financial backing will be required to ensure they can compete at the highest level. Surviving in the Premier League would demand reinforcements across multiple positions. On the other hand, if they fall short of promotion, it is still anticipated that the club will return to the transfer market with determination. In that scenario, the focus would be on building a squad strong enough to mount another serious push for promotion in the following campaign. According to reports from Sports Boom, Wrexham are now at the forefront of the chase for Winks. The midfielder, who previously played for Tottenham Hotspur, joined Leicester City for a fee of around £10 million. His future at the King Power Stadium appears uncertain, particularly given Leicester’s struggles this season. With relegation from the Championship becoming an increasingly realistic possibility, the club could face a significant squad overhaul. In such a scenario, Winks may be among the players allowed to leave, especially if Leicester look to recover a portion of the transfer fee they initially paid. This has opened the door for clubs like Wrexham to step in and make their move. Transfer Depends On Promotion Outcome Wrexham’s level of interest in Winks could depend on how their season concludes. The report suggests that the club may be even more inclined to pursue the midfielder if they fail to secure promotion to the Premier League. In that case, Winks would be viewed as an ideal addition for a Championship campaign, bringing experience, composure, and technical quality to the midfield. His profile fits the type of player needed to control games and guide a promotion push. Conversely, if Wrexham do achieve promotion, their recruitment strategy might shift slightly toward players with proven top-flight pedigree, although Winks could still remain a viable option.
  4. The Seekers · Follow Just over 61 years ago, on April 11 1965, The Seekers appeared on The NME Poll Winners Concert at Wembley Arena on a bill that also featured The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Dusty Springfield, and more than a dozen other chart-topping stars of the 60s. They performed “I’ll Never Find Another You” and “A World Of Our Own.” (Memorabilia from The Graham Simpson Archive.) The only time you'd see Bill with this many top acts these days is for a charity event
  5. Ranking the biggest Premier League title slip-ups - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0ljk11e390o Don't think this should be in the top 10. 10. Tottenham Hotspur 2015-16 Does it count as bottling if you were never in front? It is perhaps harsh to include Tottenham, considering north London rivals Arsenal were at one point in a more commanding position - but there's plenty of room for the Gunners on this list… As the usual suspects all faltered, Mauricio Pochettino's vibrant young side appeared well placed to bring a first title to White Hart Lane since 1961. But cometh the hour, cometh the dilly-dong. Claudio Ranieri's pizza-loving Leicester nomads stormed to the Premier League summit and, after briefly giving up top spot to Arsenal, surged clear to become 5,000-1-shot winners. A six-game winning run through January and February put Spurs in prime position to capitalise on a Foxes stumble, but that never came. A bruising draw in the Battle of the Bridge ended Tottenham's hopes before they lost their final two games to slip to third. Never mind, Tottenham and Pochettino's time would come, surely…
  6. Hmm sounds familiar apart from the starting point.

  8. Some Home Truths An Aussie reply to Trump’s rant about ‘NATO not being there for us’: “Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. "NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your ****ing mouth.”

  12. According to a report from TEAMtalk, Manchester United are one of the sides showing an interest in signing Leicester City winger Monga ahead of the summer transfer window. With Leicester facing the threat of being relegated down to League One, they could lose some key players heading towards the summer. Monga is on the radar of a host of clubs, including Juventus, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund, alongside plenty from the Premier League.

  17. Not many provable facts in there "rumoured to have been sidelined" "no, she didn’t have constraints on leaving" - "she happily watched with little control over the “product”, signing off on restrictive minor influences, all while she was negotiating her exit - You know this how?

  19. She may have been CEO but was employed by the owner I doubt she had full power, what were the terms of her contract?. She was just an employee of KP. KP would have been the equivalent of shareholders but with a more direct daily opportunity to approve, insist on or reject any CEO decisions. As for why she didn't leave does anyone know the structure of her contract was it time restrained with clauses that restricted how and when she could leave? Who knows. I don't know how much she was complicit so to judge her one way or the other is inexact.
  20. Rowett said he'd had instructions to pump it into the box so didn't even follow the manager's instruction.
