1. We haven’t lost yet 2. with this logic you might have been calling for any manager to be sacked as soon as they got 3 points out of 6 at any point in the season
-
Short preseason. No incomings. A bloated squad full of overpaid, average players, many of whom don’t want to be here and have stagnated here. let’s see where we’re at a good few weeks after the window closes.

Shush you! -
Totally agree - although he showed it a bit towards the end of promotion under Maresca

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

The point of a release clause that expires 2 weeks before the window closes, is to ensure he either goes with enough time for a replacement (at a price we've set) or the later he leaves, the more we get paid, to compensate for less time to replace. -
But don't forget that 3 days before the manager didn't know what he was doing starting Vestergaard over Nelson according to most on this forum...
-
Come on mate, you've still got 43 games to do!
-
He's been poor for us so far. And it is a poor value signing. And he has no obvious strengths. But let's not forget he's only had 45 mins for us in the Championship...
-
Are people still losing their minds over Nelson not starting? It's no mystery is it: 50+ game season - Nelson, Vestergaard, Okoli, Faes will all get plenty of game time Nelson had an injury during pre-season and may be regaining full match fitness/sharpness It's the first competitive game of Marti's, at home, in a weird situation vs Wednesday Does he go with the young and inexperienced CB or the experienced pro?
-
Vardy/Iheanacho/Daka dropped deep to receive passes from Vestergaard multiple times in the previous Championship season.

That's the risk though isn't it? I highly doubt we'll sign players as good as Winks, BEK or Fatawu, if any of them go. And we're already looking light in CM. And we need a CF. Our recruitment system has been so poor/patchy over the last 3 years or so, that every time we sell a player and look to replace, it's a complete roll of the dice. We're also so slow at doing business I don't like the idea of us having to replace 2-3 players in the same of a week or two! -
I'm going to try the Uni Freeman's Common car park next time for sure - only a 15 min walk
-
You can use the official/club car parks - but it's £19 and website says it closes 1 hour before kickoff and only opens 1 hour after full time. So it's not very convenient!
-
Apologies for completely misinterpreting your comment and assuming the worst! I thought you were saying 'park on the other side of the river and use the existing bridges, dummy'
-
And what are the useful car parks on that side then? Why not just try and answer the question and help a fellow fox out rather than some snarky comment?
-
BEK chance in the opening 15 mins goes in and I think we have a bit of a romp and win scoring 3 or 4. Even with how it played out, Daka's header and BEK's 2nd chance we stopped by great saves.
-
I've seen similar things myself, at the many games I attend, just for clarity. I guess I just don't spend too much of my time trying to figure out what's going on in-between the ears of a professional sports person, based on micro actions I see them doing on a football pitch, from hundreds of yards away.
-
And he's the only player in that timeframe that has wanted to leave? Do we have any quotes or articles that show this? To be fair, we all agree that flapping your arms is one of the worst things a player can do in this sport. A footballer who plays for a bottom half PL / top half Championship team making mistakes!? Pretty unforgivable stuff. Thank goodness he's the only player in the squad who makes mistakes.
-
Exactly. As far as I can tell it's: Throws his arms up after we concede (1. why is this a problem exactly? 2. Is he the only player to ever do this for the club?) Has big floppy hair Has (through not fault of his own) become synonymous with our recent downfall (we've had plenty of other poor performers and signings in that timeframe too) But no one can produce an actual quote or specific action taken on or off the pitch that justifies or explains the reputation he has. And sure, there's been some light reporting the last few windows of him wanting a move away - but again, he won't be the only player that's done that in recent years - and can you blame him, given the grief he gets? And isn't him leaving what a lot of people want?

Was saying at the match yesterday that I think he'll go late in the window. We will only sell him for £25m-£30m+. Most teams won't want to pay that for a relatively unfinished and inexperienced player. But as the pre-season closes and a few teams get desperate for a final few additions (Newcastle?), or to cover injuries (Maddison?) someone will likely think, screw it, just pay the extra £5m or so and get it done. -
Can anyone actually explain what Wout Faes has actually done to get the reputation he has? (i.e direct quotes of his, or specific examples of behaviour on or off the pitch?) By all means have an opinion on whether he's any good or not, but how or why is he "toxic" or a "bad egg" that needs culling?
-
Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)
Les-TA-Jon replied to CloudFox's topic in Transfer Talk
Is this one of those things that has been said enough that everyone believes it? Other than having big floppy hair and throwing his arms around after we concede (not sure why this is specifically a problem?) what has Faes actually done wrong? By all means people can have an opinion on whether he's good enough or not (note that we've had plenty of other average/poor players in recent years too), but I'm not sure what he has specifically done on or off the pitch to get the reputation he has? -
The recruitment at the club has been largely poor for the last couple of seasons - I'd be wary of losing both Winks and potentially BEK this window. No real faith in the club replacing them with similar quality. Sure, we need to reduce the wage bill and rebalance things, but we can't keep getting rid of our better players and expect to compete.

We have traditionally parked in the Newarke Street car park. But this a 1 mile walk (perfectly fine for me) but my 78 year old Dad is increasingly struggling with his mobility - and this often turns into a 45-60 minute walk before and after the game. So I'm trying to figure out places to park for matchday that are much closer. The Morrisons on Freeman's Common Road - Is that even accessible on matchdays? Or is it rammed? Any other ideas?
-
Clearly, we're a team that cannot afford players that make mistakes leading to a chance for the opposition. Luckily Faes is the only player in the squad that ever does this. Thank goodness.
