  1. Really? I didn’t see that Rodger’s quote.
  2. I’ve fallen into the trap of thinking this a few times now. Experience tells me that when the Board do sack, they will be taken completely by surprise and will commence the new manager search a week or two afterwards (when diaries allow)
  3. I think Ricky comes across as an intelligent and professional footballer. I’d imagine him to be a dream to coach - Quick to understand and implement instructions, a good grasp of tactics, ready to accept new ideas. All demonstrated by his new role last season. Imagine having all those attributes going from a complex pivotal role in the team, to being benched by a supply teacher who doesn’t want you going past the halfway line! I don’t we’ll see much of prime Ricky P with Cooper here!
  4. For me, this is another damning indictment of our former academy coach, former academy Director, current and incredibly weak DOF. Cooper, under a real DOF committed to youth development, would be under no illusions; You are expected to show a route into the first team for our best academy prospects. Ie. Play some of them in the cup!
  5. Just a thought, maybe he was a £12m keeper that was so badly coached by Stowell that he regressed to the level we all saw. Under new coaches, both last season and this, he’s inspired, fitter, has new tactical ideas, and has basically improved?? We’ve all seen (probably currently) how badly an outfield player looks when trying to implement a manager’s plan they don’t connect with. For a GK it’s a direct 1-1 relationship with the GK coach, so if they don’t fit each other then the results would be amplified more than for an outfield player??
  6. He must realise that this is his last chance in the PL. Personally, if that was me I’d try everything possible. I’d inevitably get sacked for making too many changes and confusing players. I’d also be on the end of some big drubbings, but might offer some excitement along the way. That thought process then leads you to the route which keeps your job for a month or two longer; cautious, defensive, low risk style of play and experienced players…. Voila!! Cooper’s game plan. He knows he’s out of his depth, we know it, does the Board know it (or care)? Given the BOD are also out of their depth none of this is a surprise
  7. Adequately. Two of them well into their 30s and never really outside the bottom quarter of PL players at their peak. The other, let’s face it, looks like his 7 goal best ever season may be his peak! I wish they were all loanees
  8. Both the football and the level of “get rid” seem to be already way past the levels at peak Rodgers OUT. Surely even our incompetent BOD can’t be deaf to this??
  9. If it’s true … how reliable is football insider 247?? I have no idea!
  10. I thought it was interesting that Nuno, who was viewed as quite unadventurous as Wolves boss, at 2-1 down at H/T bought on 3 subs, and 15 minutes later another sub and change in formation. That’s a reasonably cautious manager chasing a game (drew 2-2 in case you can’t bring yourself to look). Contrast with Cautious Cooper
  11. This is just so frustrating isn’t it …. We really do have an incompetent Board
  12. Finally someone has started the thread with the full fixture information. Thank You!!!
  13. Wilf looked exceptionally average Sunday League in a very Sunday league performance today. How he’s ahead of Skipp is a mystery
  14. I didn’t see the West Ham game, no
  15. The “passing interest” was more my way of saying “anyone with any knowledge”. They’re big calls because almost every one of the 30,000 fans that have seen them play would choose the other route. If it works, he’s a clever manager, if it doesn’t he runs the risk of appearing not to see the blindingly obvious
  16. Because they’re counter to what most sane people with even a passing interest in football would do???
  17. It’s Sunday league isn’t it? I’m sure most of us have played and had the team talks that consist of: win the first ball be first to the loose ball make sure you get a challenge in lets get into them release it to X early play the channels don’t leave anything out there show for each other etc etc etc Not a tactic in sight, just basic football … and frighteningly I can’t imagine much else was said by SC today
  18. “Half of what he’s on please barman”, I couldn’t handle a pint
  19. “Time wasting” I reckon he’s going to be really annoyed that he bought on an attacking sub on the 88th minute and Everton wasted some of the 5 1/2 minutes that he was going to win the game with
  20. I’m not sure you’ve understood the game 😂
  21. I’m not sure how
  22. Absolutely. Tactically I thought we looked terrible - like we hadn’t got a clue what to do with the ball. Both on and off the ball we don’t look like we employ coaches
  23. I agree, in theory he tried to be ever so slightly less defensive. I’d rather have Skipp / Winks and drop Ndidi but SC won’t do that as he’s obsessed with height - which is why, I think, he plays JJ ahead of Ricardo (even though Ricardo is at least as good in the air). For me, it was more about the lack of subs that would affect the game - we should have thrown everything at it in the second half. He’s lost me completely today - it’s way too negative and the tactics / patterns are Sunday league
  24. Crikey I was thinking that certain relegation after 38 games of turgid negative football was bad …. But people laughing at us, no way that would be too much to bear!!!?? I’m so glad you added “fact” as it clears the whole discussion up
  25. Commitment is a given. Even if it’s raining. We were playing a side that have shipped 15 goals and had no points, are nailed on to be in the bottom five - they are truly awful, and for most of the game way better than us. But what people are “moaning about” (discussing because it’s so blindingly obvious) is the negative set up, negative / like for like subs, and turgid football offered by this manager. Is there a single thing that has impressed you under his leadership??
