Andy King 2.0?
-
I’ve never understood the criticism he gets. Today he was absolutely superb and developing a really solid partnership with Okoli

If only there was another way of playing, or a different tactic to stop “wave after wave of attacks” versus Bournemouth at home?? Thank goodness we have Ayew falling over as our match winning tactic! -

Can I explain something to you mate?? Teams can also attack when they’re ahead. -

Game of two halves that one! First half was the best 45 mins we’ve played under Cooper. Second half absolutely bang on his usual output. Credit to the back 4, particularly Faes. Ayew made life difficult for them, Fac a player. Odsonne looked like a competition winner, thank goodness he’s a loan -
Doesn’t matter… the reason he’s where he is and why he’s not two steps to his left is that the offside player may head it. Therefore he’s interfering with play
-
I think that’s my biggest criticism of him today - he keeps drifting onto the left wing and it stops the attack down there
-
I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way that the board will act with any proactivity is to protect themselves. The Board Out protests need to start / gain momentum. They’ll then make Cooper the scapegoat. I just can’t see them doing anything otherwise.

Can I please have a job with you as my manager please??? You have such low expectations it’d be brilliant!! -
You’ve spelt “stupid” wrong
-
I had the misfortune of interacting with a loud, thick, drunk, coked up “football fan” from Notts, in a Norwich bobble hat, who despised “Leicester Sh!tty” because we sacked Ranieri and will do the same again with Cooper - Who is far too good for us. Apart from him. No.
-
Maybe they’re fighting for the club and not the manager? I think a good portion of our squad realise they’ve been either rescued / given a chance at a higher level / shown loyalty whilst injured, or for any number of other reasons feel that they owe the club or just plain want it to do well. I think the club has more in the bank than Cooper with the players

They haven’t shown any evidence of ever having a succession plan. This one really does smack of a panic move

You’ve made me a very happy man! -
You realise we’ve signed players too, not just lost them?

I’m going to post this every match thread - Until my pet hate is no more…. When starting the match thread why can’t we always have the same format: Team name (H/A), 30.12.24, 15:00 (possibly competition too -EPL / FAC etc) It will help with searching in future years, and save looking up the fixture list now, adding value to FoxesTalk -
You don’t think that: Vardy Eduarde Okoli Versterguard Make that list??
-
Really? I didn’t see that Rodger’s quote.
-
I’ve fallen into the trap of thinking this a few times now. Experience tells me that when the Board do sack, they will be taken completely by surprise and will commence the new manager search a week or two afterwards (when diaries allow)
-
I think Ricky comes across as an intelligent and professional footballer. I’d imagine him to be a dream to coach - Quick to understand and implement instructions, a good grasp of tactics, ready to accept new ideas. All demonstrated by his new role last season. Imagine having all those attributes going from a complex pivotal role in the team, to being benched by a supply teacher who doesn’t want you going past the halfway line! I don’t we’ll see much of prime Ricky P with Cooper here!
-
For me, this is another damning indictment of our former academy coach, former academy Director, current and incredibly weak DOF. Cooper, under a real DOF committed to youth development, would be under no illusions; You are expected to show a route into the first team for our best academy prospects. Ie. Play some of them in the cup!
-
Just a thought, maybe he was a £12m keeper that was so badly coached by Stowell that he regressed to the level we all saw. Under new coaches, both last season and this, he’s inspired, fitter, has new tactical ideas, and has basically improved?? We’ve all seen (probably currently) how badly an outfield player looks when trying to implement a manager’s plan they don’t connect with. For a GK it’s a direct 1-1 relationship with the GK coach, so if they don’t fit each other then the results would be amplified more than for an outfield player??

He must realise that this is his last chance in the PL. Personally, if that was me I’d try everything possible. I’d inevitably get sacked for making too many changes and confusing players. I’d also be on the end of some big drubbings, but might offer some excitement along the way. That thought process then leads you to the route which keeps your job for a month or two longer; cautious, defensive, low risk style of play and experienced players…. Voila!! Cooper’s game plan. He knows he’s out of his depth, we know it, does the Board know it (or care)? Given the BOD are also out of their depth none of this is a surprise
