I think it's pretty simple, to be honest. As director of football, it's Rudkin's job to facilitate player movements in and out. Correct? But thanks to him we have a number of unfathomable squad situations going on. Not least having two Championship level goalkeepers – Iversen and Ward – (one of them a full international) on our books since last summer, while they have been surplus to requirements. And that is just one example of a long line of odd decisions/outcomes (such as regularly failing to secure income from players who leave for free at the end of contracts). The latest oddity was the failure to move anyone out during this window – yet flying an Italy international to our training ground but failing to sign him for vague, "administrative" issues. So either: He is useless at his job and is to blame. He isn't in control of his job and others are making the decisions for him (so he can't be blamed, but is redundant). In both cases, it is hard to argue that he adds any value. In fact, I'd argue that he is a drain on resources.

It's been clear for a while now that Rudkin isn't fit for the job. So much of what we do is Premier League standard that I find it incredible that we retain the services of that numpty in such a crucial role.
-
I so hope Danny Ward reads this comment. Him having to hide in a cupboard until midnight would be a small but funny revenge for his performances last season.
-
Bureaucratic detail = Trying to find Rudkin somewhere inside Seagrave as the silly twunt got lost on the way in from the car park.
-
I didn't say he would definitely become one. I was merely suggesting that it would be such a Leicester thing to happen if he did - after driven out by our fan base.

I genuinely think we need to start challenging the idiots in the stands who groan and moan. And the "we're paying fans, we have an opinion" doesn't wash. Because let's face it – there are people at the KP who objectively do not understand what they are watching. Put it this way: paying for a ticket to the opera doesn't give a person the right to start shouting "rubbish - this isn't realistic at all! Less music and more acting!" during the performance.
-
Would be such a Leicester thing to happen, for Enzo to fvck off due to our troglodyte fanbase, then become a top European manager elsewhere. Meanwhile, the GerRiD FoRwARd brigade get their wish with Sean Dyche. Mid-table Championship for next 10 years, but at least "we're energetic and full of effort". Idiots.

it is really beginning to grate. I get that some people don't understand football - we're not the only club to have that segment of fans. But even if you don't, at least try and enjoy the success, no?
-
Yes. Ward plays in goal and Jon Rudkin is up front for them.
-
Cov fans are adorable. So glad not one of them is able to read a league table, as they'd realise there's 25 reasons to be a bit quieter.
-
Can't wait for the over-reaction from the "get it forward" dinosaurs.
-
Brainless decision on 46th minutes with seconds before half time. But at least he has "pashun".
-
One of the players that George Elek spaffs over, so he can't be any good. It's a no on that basis only.
-
He's a very decent player but if he sees his future somewhere else – as he considers himself a more traditional left/wingback, so doesn't want mould into a particular role under Maresca – then that's fair play. For me, the most interesting aspect of this is his comment about us being a "dysfunctional team" last season under Rodgers. Just confirms what we already knew – we never had a chance of staying up with Brendan.
-
How bad was he today? I didn't see the game. Not that judgements should be made based on one game, but playing against an opposition a level above is often a decent shop window.

Sevilla's director of football is that nutcase visionary Victor Orta. Anything is possible there at the moment.
-
Agree on the first point. Disagree with the second. I tried to give it a listen, I really did. But they offer nothing – no insight whatsoever, no information that hasn't already been made available through official channels. It's like listening to some random blokes at the table next to you at the pub talk about football. Just days after the games took place, so by the time you hear them natter on, you've already read, seen and heard it all before.

And there is a reason for that. Bookmakers are multi-billion pound, commercial operations with amazing proprietary data sets and huge teams of analysts (including "ears on the ground") working 24-7. They make money by getting predictions right. The podcast is put together by part-timers who get their "data and insight" from watching highlights and reading social media and news sites.

I think every City fan who has been there for certain periods over the past 30+ years can relate to the soldier in the bottom left corner wanting to shoot his own face off. A great picture.
-
Couldn't agree more. Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney and Giggs have not got what it takes to be a top coach - never mind a elite manager. It's one thing using your experience to be able to tell what's happening in a game. An other thing entirely to be able to do something to change and affect what is happening. Stick to punditry, lads.

Clubs are obliged to release players to their nations today (1 January). Fatawu in the team does suggest he isn't going – unless we've requested permission for him to play and his country has said yes. Ooh. Just found this (no idea whether accurate or not, but could well be, seeing he's playing today): https://footballghana.com/2023-afcon-leicester-city-winger-fatawu-issahaku-opts-out-of-ghana-squad-for-tournament#

Great stuff. Look forward to seeing Cannon start. Can't be worse than Daka in the last outing, anyway.
