Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Vestan Pance replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'm in agreement that these rules appear to be a farce, but if anything this saga just highlights the total and utter incompetence of those in charge at LCFC. They've ridden on the coat-tails of the work done by Vichai and Pearson for too long. Time to go Rudkin and Whelan. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

I believe their gross spend is over 1/2 billion, £350m net in 5 years. Their owner taking ownership of their ground put £80m into the pot, else they'd have been sanctioned during the promotion season. -
The Kop SK1 toilets are just terrible. I've never not had to queue to get in and out. The club and football has moved on, but we've not spent a penny on facilities for supporters in 20 years.

Breaching FFP would be ridiculous, but so would allowing those that assembled half a squad of unwanted overpaid failures to oversee a root and branch review of why we had assembled half a squad of unwanted overpaid failures, which is the reason we couldn't buy in January.
-
You're right, but with the advent of FFP you need to be constantly brilliant at building the best value for money squad else you'll quickly sink. In the last few years we've failed miserably at this game, although apparently no one will ever responsible for our ability to collect expensive flops.

Are we bottlers and do we have a weak mentality?
Vestan Pance replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
We've had nearly 10 years of being either brilliant or total rubbish, with some bottling involved, but when we've been in strong positions we've failed to get the recruitment right. I think that's been the biggest factor. -
I'm not making excuses for our fans as I'm in total agreement that we're terrible, but I've often thought about our inability to mount any sort of sustained pressure because of the style of play we've adopted for years now has contributed. We just don't get that wave of togetherness that we've seen from other clubs this season when we've caved in.
-
Well unless Enzo abandons his 70mins total tactics change then we might get run very close.
-
SK1 was pretty loud right from KO, but there also seemed to be times when the whole end was together, maybe there is hope.
-
It's a problem that is easily solved with a few additions to the stadium roof but nothing will get done. The club may have moved on hugely in the last 20 years, but barely a penny has been spent on anything to improve the environment for supporters.
-
SK1 were very good tonight, I know it's about 2% of the support and it doesn't travel but a decent effort. Aside from a few isolated individuals the rest of the crowd was a giant bum stain on LCFC, so embarrassed about their efforts that they sloped off early.

Make this happen🤞😁

I think laziness has played a part. It's easy to give out extended contracts to existing players, the hard route is saying goodbye at a players peak, negotiating a good deal with a buyer then identifying a replacement (the way we used to do things). To Clubs like us, Brighton, etc, player turnover is everything. We got lazy when the success came. I think this also applies to some of the signings we made, throwing money at it, and surprise surprise you end up with player after player that you can't give away. I don't know how much of this Rudkin is responsible for, but somebody decided to change the method.
-
Also, if the big clubs don't spend then the money doesn't filter down to the lower clubs, how sustainable will that make them?
-
If this doesn't go through I expect a thorough investigation will take place, headed up by????
-
The "we are where we are" statement was pretty clear on this subject😂
-
I honestly don't know where we go from here. I feel like giving up on trying to be positive in the stadium when you're surrounded by the passive or moaners. I can't help thinking the club has ended up with the supporters it deserves after 20 years of trying to influence and control every aspect of supporter behaviour.

It took F#rest fans 30 years to get over this attitude.
