Time will tell but I’m really positive about the appointment. Two things we needed from a manager; can bring through youngsters and plays a style that matches the squad (given we can’t afford a revamp and don’t have time to train a new system). On paper he ticks both boxes. Hoping for a slightly more entertaining version of possession based football but let’s see. If he can oversee a revamp of the squad (ie reduce the age and wage bill) and reach the play offs while being mildly enjoyable to watch I’ll be happy.

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

If I could keep one player I think it’d be him, reckon he’ll storm it as an 8 in Cifuentes midfield 3. If he does go it’s to the highest bidder, and if that’s Forest then so be it. -
Moved quickly when it was leaked he was on the shortlist for the new Masterchef presenter.

Apparently it was an hour and a half from their chairman finding his name on Wikipedia to him taking his first training session. We’re an absolute joke!

Parking the sponsor, I actually don’t dislike it. Probably won’t part with the £119.99 needed to own one, but I reckon it’ll look half decent on the pitch. At least the white logo isn’t a really obtrusive colour.

Well I for one think it’s huge testimony to the club and our global standing as a power brand. Imagine a company with no customers, staff or revenue deciding to invest £40m of their squeaky clean money to put their recently cobbled together logo on our t shirts!

Ricardo, Filbert the fox, the prospect of bringing through academy players this season. -
Progressively poorly.
-
It’s all good, he’s already started, the club just don’t want to announce it until he’s passed his 3 month probation period.
-
Well our usual pace of execution bodes well for the transfer window 😫

Great scholars and philosophers of our time will ponder this question for millennia: WTF is the superior player of the match?! 🤔

LCFC academy player coming on in the second richest game in football (behind the Championship play offs!).

I had cataract surgery on Thursday. This HT is starting to make me wish I’d not bothered 😆
-
Acceptable HT soccer entertainment: - kids relay - the foxy ladies Yeah that’s it.
-
Cucurella barely being able to hide his disgust at having to do a HT interview 😆
-
Must be the first time he’s attended an event and not been the most corrupt person there!
-
He’s been mullered this first 45min!

One area for him to work on will be set piece effectiveness, both offensively and defensively. Don’t think it’s been a particular strength of his teams and has definitely hurt us over the last few years. Could make a big difference in those tight games this season both ways.
-
What we need next season is the same thing we’ve needed most years which is a squad excluding some of the dead wood; Vesty, Faes, Bouba, VK, BDCR for starters. No point having a decent crop of youngsters if their path to the first team is blocked by overpaid “stars”.

Number 3) isn’t even remotely surprising, and it’s fairly clear this is the reality. We’ve had the uncertainty of Sensei under Maresca and more recently it was clear Ruud was expecting recruitments in Jan that never materialised as evidence. Add to this PSR calcs and us still carrying high wage players we don’t want and our financial security is definitely built on sand.

Drove my mates i40 M50 yesterday. First time I’ve ever driven pretty powerful EV and WOW. Put your foot down (when safe to do so!) and it absolutely flew.

As I understand it there’s 3 roles in Cifuentes preferred 433 midfield; deep lying playmaker, box to box and a free roaming 8. Winks looks ideal for the former, maybe Skipp/Ndidi the B2B and if we can keep him BEK would be amazing as the 8. If he goes possibly McAteer or even Ricardo as the 8 but either would be out of position.

Fair, didn’t realise that 👍🏻

I’m sure when Pearson and co. went to the pub to look over the Watford loss, they identified the need for an experienced CB in a successful Championship promotion season. Thats why he went and got Waselewski. (May have completely made this memory up btw!). So if it’s not Coady (and Vestys experienced but his pace just forces you to play a certain way) I’d want some experience there, hence my initial comment.
