With our seemingly over--reliance on certain agents, it's starting to look like the role of LCFC scout is about as pointless as the people who fit indicators to BMWs.

Woyo Coulibaly (gone to Sassuolo on loan, official)
brookfox replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
At RB we have Ricardo and Hamza, and LB we have Thomas and VK with Aluko who I think can cover both (but mainly RB I believe). Hard to see where he fits into the squad and if we can cut our losses somehow we probably should. -
Great move for him imo. Play every week in a team challenging at the top should give him the confidence and experience he needs.

The "well that was unexpected" deadline day thread

@moore_94 on a free transfer to Wrexham to run their social media after his current employers find he’s spent all day on FoxesTalk. -
No idea, but it's only an 11min flight so we'll find out pretty soon.

… you’ll never sing that!

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

There’s something incredibly dull about seeing the word amortisation related to football transfers. Chelsea seem to have twigged on that football is now basically two games; kicking a ball about and trading Panini stickers for profit. -
I fear our new number 10 is probably Ayew if we bring a striker in. Could be worse but over the season I imagine he’d notch up a decent G+A.
-
He’s a LW though isn’t he, feel like we needed the RW option to compete with Abdul and replace McAteer.

Just catching up on MoTD and the refs Gladiator/Who wants to be a Millionaire “having reviewed my decision is xxx that is my final decision” BS is horrendous!

Also been testing out AI for scout reports on linked player. This seems roughly in line with the more informed reports above… Julian Carranza Scouting Report Julian Carranza is a 25-year-old Argentine forward who plays as a striker. He is right-footed and is currently with Feyenoord. Strengths: * Goal-scoring Instinct: Carranza has a good record as a goal scorer, particularly during his time in Major League Soccer (MLS) with Philadelphia Union, where he was a key player. He scored 14 goals in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons, becoming only the second player in the club's history to achieve back-to-back double-digit goal seasons. His non-penalty Expected Goals (npxG) per 90 minutes places him in the 97th percentile, indicating that he consistently gets into high-quality scoring positions. * Work Rate and Pressing: He has a high defensive work rate, which makes him suitable for a pressing system. His stats show he is in the 84th percentile for tackles per 90 minutes and the 91st percentile for overall defensive contributions compared to other forwards. This highlights his commitment to helping the team win the ball back high up the pitch. * Versatility in Attack: He is a player who can make runs in behind defenders but is also comfortable dropping in between the lines. His aerial ability is also a notable strength, with a rating in the 71st percentile for aerial duels won. * Aerial Ability: Carranza is good at winning aerial duels, a useful trait for a forward. Weaknesses: * Discipline: A notable weakness is his discipline, as he can get frustrated and commit fouls. He was a league leader in fouls committed in MLS in 2023. His fouls committed per 90 minutes (1.23) is in the 85th percentile, a very high number for a forward. * On-the-Ball Play: His on-the-ball play is average, and he is not known for taking on defenders with the ball. His dribbling success rate is low (37.5%), and his passing accuracy is only 71.7%. * Lack of Explosiveness: While he is a powerful runner, he is not considered to be explosive with his speed. This can be seen in his progressive carries per 90 minutes, which is only in the 9th percentile.

Decorator as opposed to dominator of games. Tidy player and may well go on to great things, but for now and given how he’s acted I’m not particularly sad to see him go. -

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

I’m hearing that Peter O’Rourke understands Stuttgart have submitted an £26million bid to sign Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss. -
I refuse to Pandur to these BS accounts any more.
-
I’d like to think it’s more planning for possibilities than prioritising an area. If we even are in for him, who knows! Let’s say a decent bid comes in for Mavididi late on, I’d rather have an iron in the fire for a replacement than be caught with our pants down as we’ve only looked at the specific positions we need today.
-
Great, link to Ulrika Johnson incoming.
-
Both I think. Possibly a Faes replacement 🙏🏻

-
Agreed. Too often yesterday Brum doubled up on our wingers and Mavididi in particular was essentially nullified. Just having that FB going down the outside will give them something else to think about. Dare I say it, but it’s one area VK does actually do better than Thomas. Ricardo will also be a big upgrade on Hamza in this regard. Feel like a really attacking LB could open up our play as much as any position. That along with an attacking CM and ST and it could be a very good window.
-
Not sure why but this is giving me Iborra vibes.
-
Every time he optimistically gives it the “Jon and the boys are working hard on signings” a little bit of me wants to hug him. Like Robin Williams hugs Matt Damon at the end of Good Will Hunting… “it’s not your fault”.
-
Not sure what happened but he’d clearly riled a few of their players.
-
I'm hearing that O'Rourke is taking the "even a broken clock is right twice a day" approach to reporting transfer rumours.

Tempted to add a # before my surname, you know, jazz it up a bit!
