Pre Match - Ipswich (H) Dec 13th 3pm
brookfox replied to fox_favourite's topic in Leicester City Forum
Not even sure a free coconut and reintroduction of the t shirt cannons at HT will save the board from a roasting at this one š« -
Letās be honest, without meeting the guy or actually being involved in the club day to day none of us know if he does actually have an āattitude problemā. Maybe at HT vs Sheff Utd he tore a strip off Marti for his tactics and laid into others for their lack of effort. Not blindly defending him but for whatever reason this doesnāt appear to be the club for him. So given his contract best for all parties if he moves on in Jan if possible.
-
Personally Iād rather see him spend the second half of the season in L1. Yes we have some midfield gaps but for his longer term development it feels like the right next step. Then fully integrate him here next season. Probably in L1 š

Normally really happy. Singing, smiling, celebrating goals. Stark contrast to the home end.

Iāve always wondered what a match filmed on an iPhone from the ISS would look like. -

7 academy players on the pitch is a fairly limited plus point. -

Just told me family it was 2-2. My daughter asked who to. Even she knew we needed to make a change 10mins ago! -

So much space behind, think Iād have Daka on just to drop their defensive line and ease some pressure. -

āHugoās on fire, your defence is terrified⦠that him and his chums will implement tax breaks for corporations and the super-rich while slashing public services and telling the working class that we all need to 'tighten our belts' to pay for it.ā š¶š¼ -
Good. I obviously donāt want anything really bad to happen to him (itās only a game after all), but wouldnāt be bothered if he went Spain and got slightly sunburnt just to teach him a lesson.

Michael Golding joins permanently - Official

Overpaid less in relation to the players value and more in relation to our pretty obvious need to sell for PSR reasons. Every club knew we needed to sell so whoever came in held all the cards in the negotiation. -

Thought it was widely reported as Ā£4-5m. Almost the same amount Chelsea overpaid for KDH š¤ He just looks slightly awkward when Iāve seen him. Almost like a toddler who has had a growth spurt and isnāt quite used to the new size he is. That said, I hope he does make a career out the game either here or elsewhere. -

It was pretty clear to anyone who's seen him play! Itās a great example of a well intentioned rule being bent and abused by those who can, in this case Chelsea who used it to build an entire business model on essentially trafficking young footballers. Is he good enough, would he have made it at Chelsea⦠who knows. But I bet he never dreamt of moving to the East Mids as an 18yr old. -

Problem with him is I never know under which circumstance I want him on the pitch. Opposition playing a high line⦠Daka. Need to hold up the ball and win possession⦠Ayew. Looking for an ill tempered Argentinian with a penchant for a booking⦠-
Respect. I wouldnāt tattoo the BC Game logo on my Johnson either.

Hopefully he becomes a mainstay of the starting 11 now until the end of the season.

If Leicester City didn't exist anymore

Iād probably just take up another completely different hobby. Like spending time with the family at the weekend. -
Itās more given the situation heās in, could anyone really thrive. Letās say we sack him and bring in a new person; they still have a dodgy squad and incompetent board. Until these things are fixed I canāt see any manager thriving. Iāve been in a position when I have a bad line manager and a sh*t team and youāre on a hiding to nothing until you can change one or the other. Itās impossible to know if Marti would thrive with a better board and motivated squad, or if another manager would do better. But given where we are (and yes this may be apathy on my part) I canāt see the point just now for gambling on a new manager transforming our fortunes.
-
No point sacking him. Heās sandwiched between an inept board and a squad where some donāt want to be here and others think theyāre too good to be here. And given the wages most are on wonāt move. All in feels like we need a massive reset of the board and playing squad. Only then will we be able to really judge him and know if heās the right person. The counter is his obvious flaws; dull football, loses tactical battles, keeps playing certain players and hoping for a change. And if we do keep dropping points though we may have no choice but to gamble on a new person or L1 could be a real possibility.

Thereās a host of players Iām actually sick of seeing play for us (Vesty, Faes, Winks, VK mainly) and Skipp isnāt one of them. Club need to quickly realise with the points deduction impending weāre in a relegation fight and for this reason we need to start selecting based on attitude not aptitude. On this basis Iād happily see Skipp start and see what he can do alongside James with a run of games.

LCFC 2-3 Sheff Utd, post-match thread
brookfox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
We just massively lack people who love defending and have the character to block shots no matter the cost. A defence with a Huth in or a Morgan and we win that yesterday. Not that theyāre a brilliant footballers, but they take pride in clean sheets. By contrast we have Vesty, Faes and then Winks as DM. All nice in the eye footballers at times, but not a true defender on the pitch. Iād take Nelson and Okoli or even Souttar at CB and Hamza at DM all day long right now. On the plus side we won the last 90mins yesterday! -
I was hoping it was going to be a VR headset you couldnāt actually see the game through.
