Irrespective of how he plays, I can’t imagine anyone looking more like a centre back. He just has a presence and frame that look ideally suited to the position.

Wins a win even if it wasn’t pretty at times. Really exciting to end with 6 academy players on the pitch. The prospect of next season having the likes of Nelson, Aluko, Monga, Page, Stol, Thomas x2, Braybrooke and even an Alves and Evans all a year older and as bona fide first teamers is basically what’s keeping me going! Another clear out in the summer, a few decent signings and PSR troubles behind us and we might just turn things around.

Thought he played really well tonight both defensively and backing up the winger offensively. He does a weird thing though when the ball is played wide and high up the pitch by the opposition and he steams over to intercept/close down. Sometimes it works but a few times he’ll miss it and leave loads of space behind. I’m sure he’s told to do it but seems a risky tactic!

Few random bits I asked for and a family happy with their presents. All I want really!

Depends a little bit on the question. Was at a pub quiz and the question was “LCFC defender, same surname as famous British naval officer” and he was actually the answer.

I turned on for the second half! 😆 -
Goal now could give us a platform to potentially not lose the second half 💪🏻

I appreciate his commitment to sticking to Plan A and making no changes!

On the plus side it’s helped solve my Boxing Day dilemma. Time with the in laws wins!

Absolutely bizarre. He threw no punches, fell over about 6 times, could barely stand for the last couple of mins. Feel like AJ just took the exercise and pay and did what he had to do.
-
“The fans did not pay to see this cr@p”… the commentator gets it 😆
-
Not quite sure what I’m watching tbh. AJ either can’t get a grip on what’s happening or he’s just not going full speed.
-
I’m looking forward to the bit when he starts shaking the ropes and AJs punches have no impact on him!

More empty seats in the arena than the KP at 85mins!

Nice timely reminder we’re a football club and not some sort of dystopian social experiment!

Explains why it’s so windy up there.

Warning signs were there when nobody seemed to know how tall he was! Scouting department: "Great news, we've found the perfect striker that matches the profile you were looking for boss" Marti: "Great, is it the tall powerful target man or the short low center of gravity fox in the box?" Scouting department: "Yes" -

When you’re behind a 35yr old with two broken legs who hasn’t played for a year, it ain’t looking great! -
Plugged this into the pinnacle of AI intelligence, the latest GPT-5.1 for its as always fascinating insights… 🧩 Make of it what you will… So, unless there’s more to the story (e.g., he’s doing a local promo, filming, or it was part of a scheduled appearance), spotting him in a fish and chip shop is probably just exactly as it sounds: a footballer enjoying fish and chips. Given his ongoing journey back into playing, it’s a reminder that even well-known athletes have ordinary moments. Not sure whether to laugh or cry! 😆

I thought that. Took my son in for a pint for his 18th and was expecting the usual grim sights. Instead, if you squinted slightly, I dare say it was almost buzzing and looked mildly nice!

Odusanya-Edunfunke Is going to have to have a phenomenal career for someone to get his name on the back of their shirt! -
Tells you everything you need to know about Carranza.

Absolutely ridiculous analogy! I didn’t hear anyone citing his attitude problem during his time under Enzo. So again maybe he’s frustrated with the managers he’s played under since (and who can blame him!) and their poor tactics. Which let’s face it, the rest of us are as well. Again I’m not blindly defending him nor want him to play for us again, but without inside info it’s mainly hypothetical.
