We’ve already added Nelson, Alves, Hamza, Wanya, Fatawu and essentially Monga to last seasons team. Squad is massively bloated in some positions. Feels like sculpting, there’s a good team in there, we just need to carve away the bits we don’t need so we can see it.

Completely agree. Our current options (assuming BEK leaves) have zero creativity or goals in them. I reckon between our strikers and wingers we can get a decent, but not great, number of goals so need some from midfield. Set pieces is another option but I won’t hold my breath!

Assuming he’s not an unmitigated disaster (see Ruud for example) I’d quite like him to be here for a few years. Bit of stability could be good for us.

Finally over the line despite a late change of plan. Heard Rudkin made a last minute bid to pull the plug and bring Rohl in as backup keeper but it was too late.

Requirement for pace at CB is all down to how you play imo. It worked with Huth and Morgan as we sat back, tucked the full backs in, defended our 18yd box and counter attacked. Similarly worked with Vesty as we invited teams onto us then tried to play through the press (until teams started not pressing our defence!). Looks like it may be more useful under Marti as both full backs inverting leaves gaps down the channels so some recovery pace to cover these areas may be useful.

Starting to hope we do get an illegal betting company as sponsor now just to distract from that white V neck.

Looks like one of those 5 a side games when you’re short on numbers so someone brings a couple of mates who are “decent” but turn out to be ex pros!

Well I’d prefer neither, but if I had to pick a partner out of the two starting for Nelson it’d be Coady over Vesty. Not really based on anything tangible other than a gut feeling they’d compliment each other more.

Missed a bit of the game but thought Evans was pretty ineffective. Nelson looked very composed and Alves improved after the break I thought.

Was thinking the same. Stick Nelson in for Vesty and I won’t be devastated if that team start vs Sheff Wed given our current financial situation.
