Coach Travel For Aways

Recommended Posts

Quick question about Foxes Travel for aways:

I've booked three tickets for Burnley away with travel but due to the wonders of LCFC Direct I've got three seats that are all separate. Do people stick to their seats and if so are people okay with swapping? Not looking to get all three together but two would be great if anybody knows how likely that is

Cheers

When i've traveled on the coaches in the past i've found them abit 'cliquey'.

Not every time i've travelled but a few times.

I actually got told 'They're my seats' once when I sat down with my mate, of course I simply laughed at them. How sad.

But generally I think anyone sits anywhere - tbh I didn't even know you could book your exact seats for travel? Not that i've been that many times on Fox Travel, I'm at desperate measures when I have to use the service.

Cheers mate, it's my first time on the coaches so not too sure about any of it. In coach 8 though so not with the 'dedicated' fans who might be more like that I guess. When I booked the seats it came with what looked like seat numbers but maybe they're just order numbers.

Travelled with them yesterday, you can sit where you like fella :)

Cheers pal, mods feel free to close/delete now

I always use them. £10 and delivered to the ground, you can't go wrong if you ask me.

Even got a coffee made by jobber on bus 7 yesterday.

Yh it's very good I must say especially with train travel appearing to be some what extortionate to most destinations, at least for me anyway. I was on coach 5 yesterday :)

The number is purely a clerical thing for how many seats are sold, until they go to the next coach.

My advice would be get there early or you will be split up, sling a bag on the seats and go and have a buttie and coffee.

You sit in the same seats coming back. Cliquey coach is coach 1, stay well clear of it!

First post but long time lurker!

This morning I booked my first ever trip on Fox Travel for Burnley and wondered if there were any particular don'ts or any guidelines (time it usually leaves etc)?

I usually get the train but £60 and 4 hours was pushing it, also made getting back to Kettering in time almost impossible. So thought £10 was the most viable option

Also do you get taken straight to the ground?

I know this varies from Ground to Ground but if the coach leaves at 9.30, Burnleys 3 hours tops up the A50/M6 which means an arrival time of 12.30/12.45. Do you just go to the pub or are you shown into the ground?

Sorry for all the questions

You'll probably stop on the way for an hour or so.

You'll also be taken straight to the ground, but you can go of to the pub if you want.

Ok thanks,

Ah didn't take stopping into consideration, although an hour's at a service stations a bit much isn't it?

I think I could have a Harry Ramsden's, have a shit and go on Sega Rally (or whatever is in arcades nowadays) in 30mins easy

Can you booze on Ausden Clark? Or should I say... Can you get away with boozing? Tempted to use them for Burnley!

You probably mean beer but if you don't mind spirits I suggest a hip flask or pre-mixed bottles of coke.

It is an offence to take alcohol on a coach to a football match and if found by the police they will most likely turn the coach back which will piss off everyone else on the coach and the minimum cost for a guilty plea in the magistrates court will be £150

They never stop for an hour 30-45 minutes max, no booze on the coach as Thatcher ruled it out years ago, if the coaches get searched and they do from time to time by plod and booze is found, the whole lot get turned back home.

Drink when you get there, burnley they stop right outside the turnstiles.

A simple no would have sufficed.

I don't get it though? Why? Ok the law is the law, but what is the reason for it?

Someone can go on the train, get pissed, cause more harm and trouble as they are of their own will but then a group go on a coach, go through more police check and even get escorted to the ground so less likely to be able to cause and trouble to me.

I just don't get it. Mind you alot of things you 'can't' do are pretty pathetic really.

I don't get it either, totally wrong but it stems from the hooligans of the 70's and 80's, the government must've put it down to booze why they had so much trouble, hence official travel you can't booze, on the terrace you can't drink and if you can see the pitch from the concourse that area will be a no booze area, usually seen by a yellow box painted on the floor.

But yes you go by train or in someone's car, mpv you can get rat arsed and watch the game.

I know when they have derbies at Wembley, ie Liverpool v Everton or Man U v Man city they have a ban on the trains, watching a docu and massive skips at the stations were full of booze, they even search the young kids as the dad's stick cans in their hoodies, pockets etc to get it on, but plod finds it.

One things for sure it'll never return either, the ban will be there forever as they always pull one or two like Saturday and usually they have had a few pints to boot.

When I went on the coach for the Spurs cup game they didn't leave until everyone was on the bus but your expected to get there asap

Ha of course, I didn't expect to leave whilst someone was taking a piss :) I just wasn't sure if there was a set time (e.g 5.45 once the match traffic had died down etc)

I posted this in the Ticket forum as well because I'm just trying to calculate what time we'll be due back in Leicester due to my last train home being at 9.55. I'll probably drive to Leicester but I'd rather not

I got on a coach and just sat on the first seat I seen.

I sat there for about 20 mins and just as we were due to set off a man got on and told me I was sat in his seat. I told him I was here first and there was a few empty seats on the coach he could sit on. He was adamant I was in his seat and we got into a bit of an argument with me refusing to budge and him insisting it was his seat. He ended up telling me that was his seat and he'd sat there for every away game for the last 20 years.

In the end I got fed up with it and got up and let him have the seat and said "**** it then, I didn't want to drive the bus anyway".  :)

Ignoring your last sentence.

Sounds about right for coach 1.
