Guest Col city fan Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 It was about halves wasn't it? First half...everyone pretty much an 8/9 Second half...everyone pretty much 4/5's
Alf Bentley Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 It was about halves wasn't it? First half...everyone pretty much an 8/9 Second half...everyone pretty much 4/5's So, you'd give Konch 8/9 for his first half effort and De Laet 4/5 for his second half performance?!?

foxinsox Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Mostly 6-7's apart from Konch who was a 3. The problem is that we were playing a team of 8-9's. I though Drinkwater showed some real class agains some of the best midfielders in the world. Ulloa did better at holding up the ball and laying it off than I expected. Injuries and tiredness are worrying for Saturday, but right to have a crack at Chelsea. A class team with no-class fans. It looks it will not be settled until the last day. I am not sure that my coronaries can stand it.
Dickov22 Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 He doesn't have a physical presence, he's muscled off the ball easier than most of our players, including Vardy who's half his size. He was never going to outmuscle Terry and Cahill anyway. Whatever we did was working well enough in the first half but it was bizarre to see him stay on and Kramaric, who has more quality and pace, was left on the bench. His height and physical prescence is important for us in my opinion. Take your point on Kramaric. I'd play him in every game from the start.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Kasper - 7 - Good distribution and solid from crosses. Helpless for two goals, perhaps could have been stronger for Cahill's header but that's probably harsh... Was 7 - anchored defence solidly after Huth went off Wes 5 - his positioning is still duff for me. He put in some great headers and helped Konch well, but he blows it when they put the ball into the box. Huth n/a Konchesky 6 - stupid, needless card but otherwise had a good enough game. Up against some of the best and quickest in the game, he punched above his weight imo. Albrighton 8 - lovely work at times and cool in front of goal. Chelsea stayed alert to him all game. Drinkwater 7 - seeing glimpses of last year in him now. The whole midfield suffered from having no subs, but he was always involved. Cambiasso 9 - a sublime performance first half, only passing rather than shooting in the Konch opportunity a blot on his performance. Exhausted 2nd half, imagine Nige planned to replace him with James/Mahrez, but injuries ruined that... King n/a Vardy 8 - not intimidated by Chelsea and had the beating of their back four. Great work to set up the goal. Ulloa 6 - playing without confidence and it shows. Poor first touch and so rarely in the box where he should be. Decent target for clearances when we're under pressure though... James 7 - hardworking and some decent forward movement. Good cover for EC second half... De laet -8 - I was terrified when he came on, but did really well. Looked a more natural CB than Wes sadly... Mahrez - 5 - difficult time to come on, but he had the ball a couple of times and achieved nothing. Chased little. Would love to see him start really pumped up-he's been flat all year...
foxfanazer Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Not sure I've ever seen a better pass live than the one Cambiasso played to Leo. First time, didn't look up and inch perfect. Unbelievable
bald reynard Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 I rated Nige 7 for his managerial performance (selections and match tactics etc), but voted for him to 'Go' in the overall managerial performance section. He has clearly got problems - with the media in particular and generally in dealing with fans and players who he doesn't like at any one time, or who upset him for whatever reason. At the moment it seems it's Simpson, Knockaert, Hamer and Moore who have upset him - and are not getting a 'look in' in the squad (and don't even make the bench occasionally). In the past it's been Albrighton (for an inordinately lengthy period of the season), De Laet, Wesolowski, Konchesky (those 3 constantly in favour, out of favour and in favour again) and Hammond. We know there are players who can 'do no wrong' and are picked no matter what their form (eg Wes and Upson). I'm not saying he has got mental health problems (though he might have), but he clearly has got inter-personal relationship issues - and that just can not happen if you're a Premiership Manager (or even a top Football League one). Whether fans like it or not, it IS a Media dominated game - and Nige clearly can not cope with many in that business. Football also relies on good personal relationships between Managers and Players - and again, Nige appears to be wanting. I like the guy. I think he's a good Coach and knows and reads the game well. He has been good for us - well, was good in the first month of the season and in April, but he has shown far too many weaknesses over the course of this year to be a reliable long term Manager.

Did you actually read what you wrote?
Benguin Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Most get a 6. Konch -5 nothing against his passion or work rate, I just think he's passed it. De Laet - 8 As I've been saying all season, he's one of our most under rated players. Albrighton - 7 So glad he's getting regular game play, he just wants to be playing and deserves to be.
shen Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 ... De Laet, Wesolowski, Konchesky ... There's a blast from the past! Did not notice he was back
Guest Posted 2 May 2015 Posted 2 May 2015 Mostly 5's and 6s. Albrighton and Cambiasso 7 + Konchesky gets a 3 Pearson 4 and Out Ref 6 Chelsea 7 (5 first half but turned it up a notch second half)

You do realise there are not unlimited places on the bench don't you? Who of the 18 man squad would you take out for any of the players you suggested Nige has a problem with?
