Can someone explain fallout to me?

I never played the earlier fallout games. Fallout 3 was the first fallout game i played and its incredible. I will try to explain Fallout 3 to you.

Its a post apocolyptic game where a Nuclear war takes place and people end up living underground in Vaults. Your character is born inside Vault 111 (I think) and grows up with its dad inside the Vault NEVER leaving for the outside world. Then one day out of the blue your dad leaves the Vault with no word of warning. The main story is all about you leaving the Vault in search of your dad. When you leave you have a BB Gun and thats it. Baring in mind its been years since the nuclear war the world is in ruins but there are many places to explore, people to meet and full of monsters affected by the radiation.

What makes the game so great is the Karma system and levelling up system. You assign points to your character to make him/her stronger in certain areas.

SPECIAL

S - Strength

P - Perception

E - Endurance

C - Charisma

I - Intelligence

A - Agility

L - Luck

(I think thats correct)

Each area does different things so there is replay value in the game. Make yourself a tank with strength/Endurance or really quick/stealth with Agility etc.

The Karma system means what you do in the game decides what type of person you are. You are given choices to be a good person or really bad. New missions appear depending what type of person you are.

Thats just a brief description of Fallout 3. Fallout 4 is a similar game (different main story but same post apocalyptic game) so new world map, new missions etc.

If you buy it you wont be disappointed. Endless hours of fun to be had.

Im actually quite jealous of you for the fact you get to play Fallout 3 having never played it.

You should be able to pick it up quite cheap. Make sure you get the Game of the Year edition so you get all the expansion packs aswel.

also there is Fallout New Vegas to play. Just as good as Fallout 3.

Put it this way. I would happily buy a PS3 again just to play Fallout 3 its that good.

Fallout 3 was awesome, I lost hours of my life in that game. There is so much to see and do and I dont even think I touched half of the DLC.

I was like 99% complete on the game. The platinum trophy was just out of reach. I remember the last trophy i needed was to find all the ingots in the DLC. Found all but 1. I used guides and everything and never found it. Im still certain it was a glitch or something as i spent hours searching. Still annoys me now.

I must have clocked over 120 hours on it or something before doing the DLC lol

Fallout 3 or new Vegas then?

fallout 3 is the better one i think, much more interesting world to explore.

New Vegas was decent but at the moment I think Witcher 3 is the best game this year. It's even better than MGSV imo. Will be interesting to see how this new fallout game stacks up.

I'll be picking it up next year when it's cheap, I have no time for more than 2 huge open world games on the go.

I agree with the Witcher. Best game so far this year. Although i think Fallout and Just Cause 3 will give The Witcher a run for its money. Batman is really good aswel.

For me MGSV is the biggest disappointment. I just cant get into it

Me neither. I forced myself to put it on yesterday for the first time in a week but switched it off after 5 mins. Far too repetitive.

make that 2, its a decent enough game in its own right, but doesnt feel like a metal gear solid game. im wondering if thats why kojima and konami have split

This is exactly how i feel about it. Its a decent enough game but it just isnt metal gear. I hate the mission based style of it and the open world element. I also cant stand how snake runs. The way the screen moves up and down whilst you are running and the noise it makes drives me insane. Ive given up on trying to force myself to enjoy it. Graphically it is really good i just think it is a mess of a game. Such a shame.

Anyway back to Fallout 4. I didnt realise the Xbox One version gets Fallout 3 included. Is that with every copy or is it a special edition? Im on PS4 and i havent seen anything about it being included on PS4 version. If thats the case thats a bit of a bummer. Would love to have Fallout 3 again.

I am picking up my pre order from Game on wednesday as its the wifes birthday tomorrow so have to wait an extra day for it. The father in law just brought a new 55" TV to replace his 50" (nothing wrong with it) so i might buy it off him so i can blast Fallout on a 50" in the bedroom

Framerate specs and all that stuff

Honestly starting to think about sinking a couple hundred into my rig rather than get a console now, I've got an i5 w/750ti already thats pretty much up to scratch with these, I spose I just miss the interface of console gaming but gameswise if this is all next gen can do whats the point?
