Gaffer Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 As a mixed White/Asian, I've never had any trouble home or away when I've been with the Blue Army (got some shit from Bristol City fans about 10 years ago, but that's another story). It's one of the many reasons I'm a loud and proud City fan. I've lost count of the number of times I've been asked by Asian classmates/ Uni students / Work colleagues who I support "United, Liverpool or Arsenal?". The look on their faces when I say I support Leicester is priceless, you can see the cogs going as they just can't compute. "But you'll never win anything? You're never on telly! I've never seen you on Sky" was always their response. "But have you seen your team play at Old Trafford? Anfield? Highbury/Emirates? I have, and it was ****ing brilliant" Usually shuts them up. I'll follow the foxes home and away for the rest of my life as part of the only colour that matter - The Blue Army. Up the Foxes.
Raj Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 This used to be the football section of foxestalk...once again a certain someone turns it into his own hidden agenda!!!!
Dr The Singh Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 My son is a 3rd generation Asian citeh fan, albeit he is only 3 and has been slightly brainwashed (no Asian brainwashing jokes please). I've been an Asian city fan since I can remember anything about football and that was because my dad was a city fan, who also happens to be Asian, although a lot of my friends at school in the late 80's were also city fans, some of who were also Asian. Being Asian doesn't really have any baring in my decision to support a club with a city full of Asians. ..... Dr Singh once you've recovered from your heart attack (as it is more susceptible in us Asians) you can reply to my "Asian" heavy post I give up!!!!!!! This used to be the football section of foxestalk...once again a certain someone turns it into his own hidden agenda!!!! Who????????
GaelicFox Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 Are you his spokesperson or something!! Mate, you can believe what you like..........you sound very nieve, if you believe he is transparent, that's your choice, the facts (hinduja case) suggest otherwise, Keith registering his interests as with his interests with hinduja's means eff all, if your dishonest. Ofcourse he goes to your church and is a good pal, so he must be honest!!! There is no Sikh organisation in the city of Leicester that I know of that has anything good to say about him, nor endorse, or have benefitted from his relationship with India.........that says a million words and pictures!!! You don;'t need to be a member of a consituent to ask for MP's help, the Sikh Federation have many MP's helping them beyond any SIkh constituents!! WHat do you mean by supportive contact in the punjab region????? He may of done good work, but in my experience, he has been a destructive pillar in getting to the truth and justice for a minority group. Mr Vaz to my knowledge has a great empathy and affiliation with the Sikh federation ,as with all political representatives there is often a great deal of politics involved in such opinions being formed He is a good man working in a system that is far from perfect

GaelicFox Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 Smoke, fire??? He's been discussed on here before, not pleasant reading for you mate!! http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/83942-keith-vaz/ Need to start looking at the deeper agenda , and I believe he is still an MP Infact he increased his majority by near 8% in a time where labour was being hammered nationally 61% of his consultancy trust and believe in his good work That's a fairly healthy result for a man who has suffered a huge amount of dark forces

That's good to know, let's hope he can use his powerful friends to ensure he can get justice for those people rather then passports!!!Justice is a valuable commodity , like democracy , this mighty nation thankfully has limitless resources and commitment to deliver both correctly Not just for the wealthy Why ??? Because good men like Mr Vaz ensure that is the case , it's why they get elected with 61% majorities

Either way, your not going to convince me or anyone else, and i'm never gonna get you to change your mind!!!! If I ever get into politics, we should meet up Keith, I wouldn't mind sorting out passports for rich non constituents!!!
hejammy Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 Very sorry for your dads difficulties , not sure how your dad can have two MP's though , Kieth has a very strong relationship with the Indian government , which is good in my opinion , as you are aware members have to register such interests and they are freely available for review , without positive influence things rairly get changed , i visited the Punjab myself many many times I understand the need for a strong supportive contact in the region , we will have to agree to disagree as I have seen much very good work carried out by him , but I suppose like us all no one is perfect and it's impossible to please everyone . I'm sorry but he is an arrogant, self centred, egotistical individual, he does not have a care in the world about anyone but himself. I speak from first hand experience, I've never actually met anyone as arrogant as him. What he is in the Mercury and East Midlands today is nothing like what he is like in a private setting. I'm sorry mate but this is the truth. Would not trust him at all.
hejammy Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 I give up!!!!!!! Who???????? Haha - my point with this is that is it really that wrong to call someone Asian? For some people it may be a little hard to distinguish between an Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi or Sri Lankan for example. So isn't it better that they refer to him as Asian or mistake him for something that he isn't? Anyways all fun and games
Guest MattP Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 Vaz is vile. Hopefully one day the truth will out, it shouldn't be too far away if current trends are to go by. (Although I'll concede he is very good on the Home Select Commitee)

Anyways all fun and games I hate it, maybe it's a personal hate, I hate even being called indian or indian origin, having lived there, I have fook all in common as whole with someone who is telugi, hyderabadi, akhsi chin, bahar and god knows how many other states. I travel to the states alot, and once someone said, 'you europeans.......' and my colleagues rightfully said, wait a minute, you can't compile a whole continent together, no-one person can represent a whole nation let alone a continent. I have some chinese friends, it really narks them, the right term is Indian sub continent, if you want to represent bangale, pakistani, indian together. E

E I see what you are saying, but where do you stop? Down to the country? Down to the area? Down the the village? The Street? In the USA they do refer to Asians as predominately Chinese/Japanese etc? Indians are the Native Indians, If someone calls me Asian I'm not actually that bothered as I do have heritage from that area, I don't think people referring to me as Asian are suggesting that I am the same as every other Asian. its just a term used to describe someone, Like you'd call a Women a Women because that's what she is, doesn't mean that you are saying all Women are the same right?

There is no science, but it comes to what is applicable, in this case, Asian is the wrong word, it should be people from Indian Sub Continent. We are Thai owned company, people may assume we mean the whole of Asia, which we know isn't the case, as Leicester is know for Indians, Pakistanis, ie people from the Indian Subcontinent. Like I say, we use the term Asian incorrectly quite often, personally I don't believe the word Asian really represents me at all, I cannot relate to it in any substantial way, it's well too vague to correllate to my background, may aswell call me earthling!!! I'm not sure how a defined gender relates to this conversation, but hey ho, fun and games!!!!

I think you’re taking PC too far if you don’t allow your colleague to generalise about Europeans if he’s trying to explain a characteristic that he feels distinguishes Europeans from another groups, such as Americans. The trick is to be able to generalise about racial characteristics intelligently. If an American says “you Europeans love your Soccer”, then what’s wrong with that?

But to be clear the reference was made to drinking and fighting in pubs, which isn't applicable to alot of europe. Other then context, then it's about how you feel comfortable and want to be contextualised, for which I have a strong preference!!
