What the feck is an Asian lads ?

Jesus ....what a silly topic

Might as well say "not many brown faces"

Which would be terrible but no worse than classing people as "Asians"

Not sure why people have too much of an issue with asian. Obviously it covers a large area of different cultures and countries, but this thread was not targeted at a specific country or culture. Its like how we call people from USA American. Maybe they get offended if we don't call them from their state. But half the time I cannot tell someone from Utah and New Jersey apart, not because I'm racist but because I do not understand the difference in their culture. The same can apply to people commenting on the outside about asian people.

I think this thread is going somewhere else now. Its supposed to be about why people do or don't attend football matches. Lets get back to the topic

Nothing wrong with Asian, and to be fair it was pages ago the op asked why the Asian people of Leicester don't follow the city in numbers( I think that was the original question), in comparison to the size of the Asian community in Leicester, which I think was a fair question, and has been cleared up by raj and the boys.

People over complicate things in a way to make themselves seem more intelligent Monsell.

I don't care what ethnic background a person is from as long as they love our club. would be good to get more supporters from the ethnic minorities.

I know a few Sikh and Hindu supporters in the family stand, the issue is the % of support versus the populous of the city, which is partly down to the love of Cricket and other sports and partly down to generational views on supporting the club.

In my view part of the issue with generational views is because when my friends parents came over back in the late 60's and into the 70's (possibly even 80's) they wouldn't have been welcomed down the football with open arms and this is partly to blame.

I think there's more than people might think in general.

If the club, itself, was so concerned about the lack of Asians - they'd probably create matchday events that would suit their interests, such as Bollywood-themed things or curries on offer etc.

No.

Your missing the point. Its about welcoming people to the ground enjoying the football and the atmosphere and the event. Not giving them curry and Bollywood music.

I'm sure they can do that at Belgrave Rd and have a better time.

People whatever their race or creed just want to enjoy an event without prejudice or being singled out.

But will Dr the Singh still get his free tickets?

Don't think the thread comes across racist at all, there's a thriving pan-Asian community in Leicester and it would be great if the club tackled any barrier to them identifying with their local club.

As others have said though I don't think there's an awful lot the club can do, I think it will grow slowly of it's own accord.

I think it was a joke mate.

I like watching Disney films with my daughter but I wouldn't be more enticed to come down the King Power if they had a Frozen themed day whilst at home to Watford.  :D
