Stadt Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 I've got money on Argentina and Chile, in profit if either win, uruguay will probably shithouse their way to it though
Tielemans63 Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 Colombia have been disappointing, I was expecting a lot more from them and they have failed to deliver! Colombia are pretty much the England of South America. Often show promise, a number of quality players but flaky as **** in tournaments.

I will admit I hadn't really watched them pre-world cup but they looked good there, after that I kept an eye on their results and they don't do as well as you'd think with all the attacking talent they have! Chile have a nice easy run to the final in comparison to the likes of Argentina Hoping for a Chile vs Argentina final which should be good to watch
Jordan Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 This Chile vs Uruguay game is soooooo Chile vs Uruguay.
Dan Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 I cannot believe that Cavani incident. That is an absolute disgrace. Jara should be given the same ban Suarez was given and the referee should be investigated, as well as being banned himself.
IOWFOX Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 So far, so good for my adopted nation peru! 2 goals in 2 minutes.
Dan Posted 26 June 2015 Posted 26 June 2015 Nearly backed them as well. Going through a bit of a bad stage here. Looking all set for Chile v Peru in the semis. Those two are arch rivals.

It's not really that bad anymore feom what i gather. My guide in peru last month said that he wouldn't be disappointed if chile won the tournament, anyone but brazil and Argentina. Well mainly anyone but argentina haha. Pablo Escobar trying to live up to his namesake!

Pablo Escobar trying to live up to his namesake! I heard otherwise but maybe you're right and maybe it's a bit of a Dundee v Dundee United kind of thing where deep down I think everyone wants the big two to lose. I can't see Chile not beating Peru. Peru have beaten Venezuela & Bolivia, lost to Brazil and drawn with Colombia. That's an average record. Argentina v Colombia later. Will try and catch some of that. Sticking with my 1-0 Argentina shout but will be rooting for Colombia. If Colombia v Paraguay is the other semi final then I'm giggling. Chile are better than Colombia for me.
IOWFOX Posted 26 June 2015 Posted 26 June 2015 Rojo should have made it 1-0 Argentina with a free header from a corner.
IOWFOX Posted 26 June 2015 Posted 26 June 2015 Ospina with a truely ridiculous double save. Petr cech who?
Dan Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 Penalties annoy the **** out of me. Convinced at least 90% of them are won by the team I didn't want to win them. They were excellent at first but they got worse the longer they went on. Murillo's
Amin Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 Well that's Brazil gone. Unlucky Thiago Silva handball proved costly. It's so depressing watching Brazil these days, especially without Neymar. How I miss the team from 10 years a go.
ScouseFox Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 brazil are doggo these days. top ten nation at best. a neymar-less brazil are on a par with teams like wales.
zak_lcfc Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 From a neutral point of view the demise of Brazil is a shame, the reliance on Neymar and the inability to play a more grittier system to win games really hinders them, but fair play to Paraguay they've done Brazil twice in the past 5 years! Expecting Chile and Argentina in the final but the tournament has thrown a few surprises so far
Jordan Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 It's amazing. Two years ago, Brazil beat the **** out of Spain in the Confederations Cup final, figuratively and literally. Since then, they've become the biggest bunch of little bitches.

I was optimistic about Brazil's future after the 2012 Olympics, the Confed Cup cemented that but they never really impressed in the World Cup and it's been even worse during the Copa.
Dan Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 This Brazil side is easily the worst of my lifetime. Is it just me or is international football at an all-time low?
zak_lcfc Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 I think barring Neymar which they over rely on they have a very unbalanced and overrated squad that is plagued by over expectation due to the successful past of the nation, I read an article today which summed up their fall from grace perfectly and it was a sentence that said "they no longer have the respect footballing wise from the continent [south America] they once had" I suppose that is true on a world stage now in that playing Brazil is no longer a fixture that certain nations fear! I do agree with you Dan that international football is in a lull, it's good for the smaller nations as they have been more competitive recently but since the World Cup it seems like most have regressed in some way or another
Rincewind Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Can't believe I am top of the Umbru league. My picks are all guesses and I have not seen a game. Where and when is the final being shown?
