mintyda Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 What do people think about having a pink day like they do at the Sydney cricket ground during the ashes Thought we could do it once a year to raise money for cancer charity Sure it would soon catch on around other premier league teams aswell
thpike Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 American sports do this all the time. In the NFL the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, most teams have some form of Pink on their uniforms. The NFL makes them register it before the season as an "official" color for that year. They do it with NFL, NCAA, and some of the basketball games during the winter also. Great idea and a lot of money is always raised.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Wearing pink does not appeal to me. My other half handed over a cheque £2,000 a few weeks ago, to Cancer Research UK, in saved 50 pence pieces. That appeals to me more than pink! I mean, people might get the wrong idea about me.

Having read your previous posts on homosexuality I don't think there's any danger of that.
thpike Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Pink is to raise awareness that is still needs funding raised. Hopefully LCFC sign on with Footballers v Homophobia again, I don't think they have for this year.

purpleronnie Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 wearing a pink shirt today, only real men wear pink.....but I decided to wear one anyway.
Tielemans63 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I'd be worried that people would mistake me for a straight guy wearing pink for the day.
thpike Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Not to mention 1 off jerseys raise quite a bit of money.
David Lowe Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Ooh yes. I've got my bright pink shirt on today. This would be right up my street!
DB11 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I refereed over in America in 2012 and they had one of the tournament days dedicated to it, us as referees all had to wear pink socks for our games
