How much would you earn from winning the TDF?

I think it is about 800k prize money but it is shared out among the rest of the team but rumour has it wiggins still owes froome his share from 2012.

SUPRISING...It isn't a lot compared with a Premiership footballer

Watching in a hotel at the foot of Etna, can't understand the commentary and so far (i think)they haven't mentioned Cav. Why would they.

As I am typing he gets a mention! (I think, they speak so fast!)

Will he do it?

You can't help but like Froome.

Whereas I've argued in the f1 thread that most top sportsman like Hamilton are perceived as arrogant and cocky(we'll by me anyway!) Froome seems very laid back, modest and almost shy. Sort of man yoy'd want for you daughter!!!.. (Unlike baddass cock Hamilton!!!) Sorry facecloth!!! lol

It really is not a lot of money earned but the sponsor money is huge and Sky would give them a big bonus., A domestique on a average team will only earn 30-40k but in a season he might make 100-150k it really depends on how well the team does and they whack it up at the end.

Also big riders like Cav 3 years ago was on over a million a year before he started a race

This puts things into Perspective.

3 Weeks in the TDF must be the equivalent of a Footballers World Cup.

Great tour and success for Chris Froome.

Guess it was fitting Greipel won the last sprint.

Greipel is singing the praises of his Team - Just like Froome.

I've got my eye on a CANNONDALE BIKE...not sure if i can afford it though?

Do you cycle mate? I Just thought i would ask because you always get people buying a  bike after the Tour who are not into cycling, they use there bike a dozen times then it sits in the garage for the next few years :)

I know A few friends that have a Cannondale MB's that they cycle to work on and do a bit extra on the weekend and they swear by them, they are good quality for a decent price. What are you thinking Road, Mountain or hybrid?

I used to run A lot but it takes its tole on my joints, my Dad has had 3 hip replacements first one at 39 and his last 2 year ago at 62 He ran marathons and destroyed his cartilage in his hips.

I dont want to follow suit so i decided I am never running again, I got a Trek MB 4 years ago Sold it this year and haven't cycled on the road in 7 months looking for something a little cheaper maybe a Road Bike, but im not sure if its the tour de france that has give me the bug again.

Interesting what you're saying about running not being so good for you - i heard that somewhere else recently, and the person started to take up cycling and his body and health improved.

Probably looking at buying a road bike...shame there's no mud guards on them anymore.
